vhs, I loved it.I was amazed.I was upsessed.I got all the toys.All the video games.All the movies.All the costumes.All the models.I love star wars so much, but when special edition came out I was even more amazed by the enhanced and fixed scenes and cg graphics, it was even better than the original.Star wars in 1977 changed the way we looked at movies.Star Wars is the ultimate sci-fi trilogy of all time.

Review: this collection is for any star wars fan that does not already own the three classic star wars movies. the only thing i dislike is the fact that the original special edition tapes had a ten minute segment at the beginning that showed what they had added to the movies, such as the new scenes with computer generated ships and creatures. other than that this is a great buy.

Review: I am a hujge star wars fan. Sure, there are bigger, but I'm up there. I know that George Lucas hesitates a while to put his films onto DVD. Star War fans expect a lot, but worst comes to worst, you re-release the DVD, instead of doing that with VHS. Fans without DVD will get a VHS copy. Youv'e produces 4 different editions. With the VHS, the special editions were OK, but I'd like the deleted thing better if they were in a deleted scenes sement after the film ond VHS, or a special feature on DVD, or you get a choice. Also, on the VHS, it's hard to find a wide-screen copy, so I picked up the pan-and-scan version. I JUST WANT THE ORIGINAL STAR WARS IN WIDESCREEN WITH THE DELETED SCENES AS A SPECIAL FEATURE ON THE DVD, AND RESTORED AND REMASTERED PICTURE AND SOUND (6.1 DTS? PRETTY, PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP, MR. LUCAS?). George Lucas created an awesome DVD on Episode 1. I bought it, and I was dissapointed by the film. I am intrigued by the picture quality of the VHS. However, if you did the same transfer in widescreen to DVD, and had the deleted scenes as a special feature, and perhaps the interview with lucas at the beginning of each tape, and the interviews from star wars from the actors (its a DVD you can buy on amazon), that would be great. You wouldn't have to make and edit anything (other than the deleted scenes). Getting back to what I was saying, the VHS has awesome picture quality, but they did that good of a job because it is an excuse to DVD. We have to wait until 2005? I guess that's smart on behalf of Lucasfilm, seing that each fan wears out their copys every 2 years. I'll still buy them. George Lucas, if I was in your spot, I don't know what I'd do. Just remember, your an awesome filmaker, but you have to realized that DVD is superior to VHS. You showed us that in Episode One. I do not care if the VHS's are "Digitally Mastered," because I'd have the same transfer with the same special features minus the deleted scenes anyday! Great film, though

Summary: Belongs in everyone's movie collection
Review: What more is there to say about the SW trilogy? The packaging is well done (and matches the Episode I packaging) and the overall film quality is quite good. Each film has been re-mastered and these are the "Special Edition" releases that were brought back to the theaters in 1997 with the added scenes and CGI. I also like the fact that Episode IV's (a new hope) packaging describes the fact that this episode takes place 30 years after the Phantom Menace...nice touch. What was cool was that you got a brief sneak peek at Ep II (which has since been released) at the beginning of a New Hope.Out of all the films, I'd say Episode VI-Return of the Jedi is the weakest. This is a must-have until the original trilogy is re-released on DVD (which George Lucas has been heard saying won't happen until AFTER Episode III is released...and that will be at LEAST 4-5 years since filming won't even start until June 2003!).

Summary: One of the greatest movies of all time
Review: This is by far one of the greatest movies ever made. Even after 25 years no movie still compares to this. In 1977 STAR WARS changed the way we look at movies. 20 years later with the special edition we saw a great improvement in picture quality. STAR WARS still remains to be on top of all movies today. They still make books and toys, they still have interviews with Gearge Lucas and they still advertise the trilogy on T.V., and with Attakc of the Clones out even more is celebrated. Anyway, this movie has dazzling special effects (and they didn't need any computers to do it either!) and the acting is superb. Definitely Harrison Ford at his best. The movie also has a great plot and doesn't end when its over. While there is hardly a soul out there who hasn't seen this movie, seeing it a second time is just as memorable as the first. The characters are amazing. And of course there's our favorite character Chewbacca A.K.A Chewie. Not to mention that the music is outstanding and that final battle in space at the end is incredible. This movie is a very good watch and shouldn't be missed. Each time you see the movie think of where movies would be today if STAR WARS Episode IV: A New Hope hadn't been made.

Review: I really like and enjoy the Star Wars Films, and the classic trilogy deserves to be on DVD. I can only urge Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox to change their minds and start work on the DVDs for both this movie and it's two sequals right away.

Review: In 1977, a filmmaker named George Lucas finally finished his dream movie: a space opera. He was skeptical about its success, and so was everybody else. But then it became an overnight hit, and it is now a cult classic. The first movie in the second (but original) trilogy is a saga of nine, A New Hope begins the story of the Empire, Luke Skywalker, and the Cival War (Each trilogy is about a different government, war, and character. I-III are about the Old Republic, Anakin Skywalker, and the Clone War, and VII-IX are about the New Republic, either the Solo kids or Mara Jade, and a war with the remnants of the Empire). This is the story of a farmboy who wants to be a Jedi, an old profession that handled tyrants, a princess who has been captured, and a smuggler who got dragged into it all. The farmer, Luke Skywalker, and the smuggler, Han Solo, go to the Death Star to rescue Princess Leia from Darth Vader, the most evil man in the Empire next to his master, the Emporor. Along with them are two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2, and Luke's new mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi. This movie sets the stage for V and VI, and is a true classic.
