Rating: Summary: I have the power! Review: I think this movie is the best movie I saw in sci fiction. This movie is an exciting. I dont get the parts that the bad guys needed the key if they already had a key that part dose not make a since to me. My favorite part is when courteny Cox as Julie got hit by Skeltor Poison. One more part where Skeltor and He-man had there last battle at the end.
Rating: Summary: This is not the super hero you grew up with. Review: I was a big He-Man fan. The Cartoon show that is. This remake for the big screen did a lot of things to change the story. Not a single one of which I agree with. For one thing in this movie you will see a lot of ray guns. Something you never would see in the cartoon. He-Man is not Star Wars. Although they tried to make Masters of the Universe the movie more like Star Wars then the actual cartoon. Seeing He-Man with his ray gun was rather dissapointing. I found this film to be ok. OK acting. OK story. OK effects. Although I do like how they did the Skeletor mask. Meg Foster is very attractive as Evil-Lyn and Dolph Lundgren looks just like a real life He-Man would look. This film stars a young Courtney Cox from TV's "Friends" as the young girl the Masters must save. Another letdown was the omition of that awesome wizard from the cartoon that didn't have a face. I think his name was Orko.
Rating: Summary: It's pretty good. Review: Sure, it could have used the rest of the characters from the series...or practically any, for that matter. Yeah, the acting and dialogue is corny. But the 80's cast and production values can't be beat if you're an 80's fan!
Rating: Summary: Good Journey! Review: He-Man fights the evil Masters of the Universe! What more could you ask for? Throughout the movie a sense of optimism totally prevades all the negative concepts. Just watch out when He-Man gets a hold of the sword of Greyskull! (Sparks could ignite.)
Rating: Summary: Could you ask for anything more? Review: I must say I love this movie, though I also must say that at some points, we could've done without Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, but he does fit the part. Evil-Lyn was so much better than in the cartoon, and Skeletor was deliciously evil. Also an impressive debut for Courtney Cox. Who knew she'd make it this big?
Rating: Summary: Its missing something Review: If it was set in Eternia, Orco, Battle Cat and some of the more famous characters were in it, He-man was sometimes Prince Adam, and there was more snake mountain and castle grayskull then I would have rated it higher. The introduction of new characters kinda ruined it for me as well. I'm a big he-man fan but the movie just wasn't to par with the cartoon.
Rating: Summary: Sequal!11 Review: There has to be a sequal because Skelitor never died
Rating: Summary: Good live-action rendering of the animated series. Review: I often watched the He-Man cartoon series with my kids as they were growing up, and I fell in love with the characters and the wonderful stories, some of which had some strong adult truths buried just beneath the surface. Unlike "Transformers", He-Man and She-Ra were about fighting evil for a higher purpose, without getting preachy about it. The movie takes the main characters from the series - He-Man, the loyal Man-at-Arms and his warrior daughter, Skeletor and Evil-Lynne - and brings them to 20th-Century Earth in a very convincing way. The dwarf-gnome character in the movie serves as a stand-in for Orko, but is obviously based more on the Hobbits from "Lord of the Rings." This bit of artistic license grounds the movie in our reality by providing a character that the human teenagers can interact with as the story unfolds to its obvious, but very exciting conclusion.Dolph Lundgren looks the part of He-Man and he swings a mean sword, but it's obvious that his dialogue was kept to a bare minimum. Still, the other characters pick up the slack, and Frank Langella is marvelous as Skeletor - as in many of the animated shows, he's the one who drives the action. The opening scene where Skeletor marches triumphantly into Castle Greyskull (which is rendered very authentically) sends a genuine chill down your spine, and the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor is worth the wait. One touch I really appreciated was the theme of music as the key to the universe. The film's music score is top-notch and paces the storyline very well. Kudos also to Meg Foster (is that right? you'll know her when you see her) who gives Evil-Lynne some real depth and a truly sharp edge not seen in the series. The entire cast was wonderful; it's a shame they could not put together a sequel using the same people. It's not quite Star Wars, but you'll enjoy this fun adventure film for many years to come.
Rating: Summary: HE-MAN THE COOLEST MOVIE I OWN Review: in this movie it captures almost all the elements of the cartoon save orko, battlecat and some others. i have watched this movie at least a thousand times and i never get bored of it. its a must see for any one that liked the cartoon. when are they going to come out with a movie based on SHE-RA???
Rating: Summary: is good Review: This movie does quite well interpretting he-man into a live-action form using 1986 technology. If this movie came out today, i am sure that it would have elements such as orko and battle-cat... fine performances by all... I know why skeletor wants castle greyskull so much: he just wants it. I mean, if someone else was living in a castle with a large sculpture of your head on it, wouldn't you be mad enough to storm the castle and take it? That's another great thing about this movie: skeletor is winning right up until the end... he becomes the master of the universe even... fine film.
