Summary: Peter Weller Fans Hold onto your seats...
Review: First of all....anything with Peter Weller in it is a hit IMHO. Let loose on a world gone mad "Screamers" are the ultimate killing machines. All's fair in love and war - or is it? Seems the Screamers have ideas of their own....ideas that they weren't programmed with. Fast paced and rated "G" for Gore, this film will keep you on the edge of your seat right to the end.

Summary: Average sci-fi with pacing issues
Review: Five minutes into the movie, I thought the director had made a grave mistake: he shows you the Screamers. What? Where's the mystery? But, therein lies the rest of the movie...the Screamers are evolving...and they look human! And then you get into the movie frame where everyone is suspected to be one, and turns out to be one, even when you don't expect it, at times. The movie is rather average. The Screamer attacks (the normal Type I ones) weren't done very well: it the screen overlay is painfully obvious. But the CG ain't half-bad. The main problem is the pacing, which is slow. Other than that, it's a semi-interesting sci-fi flick. Note: the co-screenwriter of *Aliens* and *Total Recall* (both much cooler movies) was a writer of this movie. Everyone has their off days.

Summary: Wow.
Review: I loved this movie. partly because it had roy dupuis in it, but it was a really good movie besides that. If you like movies with gore,(or with Roy) you should really watch this. All it's really about are these little Screamer dudes, some take the shape of a young boy,(type 3) some take a robotic reptile looking thing (type 1) and some are wounded soldiers(type 2[good going genius you can count to three.] That last statement was based on a line from the movie.) The screamers are basically out for human blood and will stop at nothing to get it. Once again, I loved this movie. It's a good sci fi thriller and very fast paced.

Summary: Movie poorly matches the original story and is worse.
Review: I read the story the movie is based on when I was a kid, and I still remember it. It is a superb short story and very memorable. The movie was not as good or as memorable as the story. It's about an average movie only, and it changed some of the points of the original story to make it worse than the original story. If you have read the story, it is worth seeing the DVD just for the heck of it. If you haven't read the story, don't buy the DVD but go buy a book with the story in it and read the story instead! Summary: Man what a great Surprise!
Review: I seen this movie a few years ago, and I though the movie was great. A good Sci-Fi movie even till the end, the miss trust between everyone is what keep this story going. Loved this movie.
I had this movie recorded, now I'm going after the DVD my damn cousin borrowed it and I never got it back,,,punk.

Summary: A real sleeper of a sci-fi movie!!!
Review: I've seen this movie on cable three times so you can guess that I liked it. OK so it's not the high budget sci-fi movie we've come to expect. The plot is not original (apocalyptic war that has destroyed a planet that was once considered to be paradise) but it does have a number of twists that make it compelling. Peter Weller is excellent as the Commander who wants to stop the war and call a truce. If you can't find it on cable then get the DVD.

Summary: A blade runner style investigation of humanity
Review: If you look at this movie as a version of "Aliens", you're missing most of the theme here. The movie isn't about "people fighting robots". It is how people initially create mindless devices to slay other humans. These devices grow on their own from spinning blades, to crawling lizards, to simple happy children, to "help me!" heart-string-tugging hurt soldiers, all the way up to Shakespeare-quoting men and real-love-feeling women. When the robots reach that human-like point of development, they no longer simply focus on breeding and staying alive as a collective race. Now the ROBOTS start slaying each other for reasons that humans find all to understandable - love and personal desire. Yes, there's the tension as you keep thinking "what will the NEXT robot look like". You begin to examine the actions of each character, wondering if he or she is a robot too. The line between "real human" and "mechanical device" becomes blurred. At one point Hendricksson grabs Jessica's hand and slices it open on purpose, to see if she really is human or a robot. She bleeds, and he apologizes profusely - leading to them falling in love. But of course the blood was fake - this was merely the next evolution in the robot progression. And it brings to mind the classic line, "If you prick us, do we not bleed?" (Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice, Act 3, Scene 1). Given the large number of other Shakespeare quotes in the movie, the symbolism was quite apt. It was impressive that Hendricksson treats the people around him with casual disregard many times - but the robots are showing emotions. The humans are often brusque and untalkative - but the robots make insightful comments drawing from Shakespeare and other great thinkers. It is almost the robots who are the better race here - they have managed to wipe all the humans off the planet, evolved themselves to higher levels, and have their sights set on Planet Earth next. In that sense, Screamers is VERY much like Blade Runner, making us really think about how we would differ from intelligent robots - and if we would measure up. A movie to watch over many times.

Review: Outland, miners, with ulterior motives on the part of the company. So what is new. Intelligent plot tho'.
