Summary: It Could've Been Great!
Review: I waited for this movie with eager anticipation, and I must say, the special effects, fight scenes, and intellectual challenges were all extremely impressive. The thing that ruined this movie, though, was the sex scene. This entire scene could have been left out entirely, or at least implied without being so explicit... Those scenes totally ruined the movie for me: instead of leaving the theater thinking about freedom of choice and anticipating the next installment, I was outraged that people were not ashamed to take their children to this film. I own the first Matrix movie, but I will under no curcumstances see Reloaded again unless I can get my hands on an edited version.

Summary: speechless....
Review: after seein the original i couldnt wait for reloaded, and i'm proud to say that i was amazed....not only did the brothers break new film ground once again, (agent smith as the human personification of a computer virus, the incredible freeway chase, the ghost twins) they paid homage to some classic films(the star trek esque uniforms and morpheus "the warriors" esque speech)... a lot of folks have said they were confused or said that they overdid the action, but i say this is the stuff dreams and computer technology were made for and i cant wait to see what happens next....

Summary: It's live-action anime!
Review: Folks, settle down. The Matrix Films are neither great art, nor are they bad movies. They are simply great live renditions of Japanese anime.
If you like the more adult anime - you'll like the Matrix films.
In rare statements, the Wachowski brothers have declared what great fans they are of this medium. If you don't care for anime, chances are the movies will leave you at a loss as to what all the fuss is about, or maybe even a tad confused. If you are into anime - you'll 'get it'. All the entire heavy philosophizing, the religious/mystic/spiritual nods - the general mumbo jumbo laid at between the fantastic action sequences...
Relax. Enjoy. Its Akira/Ghost In The Shell/Serial Experiment Lain/Ninja Scrolls/Vampire Hunter D/Gundam Wing/Guts/etc. all rolled together and presented live!

Summary: Orgy or Matrix?
Review: I had very high expectations of this movie. Other than a few plot twists which question the motives of the Oracle, and the role of "The One" with Zion, the overall story was uneventful. The movie, while having some great action sequences such as the freeway chase, was merely one fight scene after another. And what the heck was with the drawn out Orgy in Zion at the beginning of the movie?
I had plans of purchasing all three movies in the Trilogy when they were released on DVD (based upon my high expectations set from the original movie "The Matrix"). I must say, the original Matrix, will be the first, and last movie in the Matrix Trilogy that I'll own...I most likely will also skip the closing chapter of Matrix Revolutions as well...

Summary: Why all the bad reviews?
Review: I cannot believe people have such bad things to say about the movie?!? It is amazing!!! The characters are great! The fight scenes rock, espcially when Neo fights with all the Smiths and the car chase...I mean come on!!! Sure the movie is a little complicated, but that's only because they're trying to get you to think! I would like to know what people who didn't like the movie were expecting.

Summary: It's all that, and less.
Review: Contrary to the opinion stated below, this movie wasn't awful because of the racial diversity of its cast (in fact, that was one of the few good things it had going for it), but because of its heavy-handed and confusing narrative, utter lack of character development, stilted dialogue, hodgepodge visual style, overdone art direction, and relentless and bludgeoning lack of a sense of humor. One star for the special effects, the other for Monica Belucci's dress.

Summary: An action film, or a philosophical exercise? It's both!
Review: THE MATRIX RELOADED may very well be the biggest, most expensive, most action-packed filmic treatise on the fundamental nature of reality ever produced. The first of two follow-ups to the 1999 hit film THE MATRIX, THE MATRIX RELOADED does something few sequels attempt: it dares to be different than the original picture.

All the traditional sequel elements are in place with THE MATRIX RELOADED. The entire cast of THE MATRIX returns, the glossy style sensibilities remain intact, and the spectacle quotient has been ramped up considerably. But rather than make the same film again, only with bigger explosions, the writer/director team of Andy and Larry Wachowski have chosen to explore the deeper concepts that underlie the whole idea of a split reality. What's more, they aren't afraid to let the gunfire stop and the kung fu battles cease to give their metaphysical examinations room to breathe.

Much noise was made after the release of THE MATRIX to the effect that it was a smart film loaded with philosophical significance. This is true, but the significance was packed beneath the surface of what was mechanically a straightforward action film. In THE MATRIX RELOADED the veneer has been discarded. The Wachowski's new film doesn't attempt to hide its truth-seeking inclinations, and though the set-pieces in the film are bigger and (sometimes literally) more explosive than those in THE MATRIX, the real heart of THE MATRIX RELOADED are those moments when two characters grapple not with each other, but with meaning.

This kind of introspection is rare in any film, let alone a sequel to the most influential action movie of the late 20th-century. Some viewers are likely to be thrown by the challenging ideas thrown their way. As THE MATRIX RELOADED downshifts to accommodate the very real confusion characters like Neo must face - what is real, and what does it mean to exist in unreality? - they may wonder what happened to the techno-driven spectacle that graced the screen just moments before. These viewers would be well advised to listen and watch carefully, because the quiet scenes are the ones that mean the most in this sequel. THE MATRIX RELOADED is blessed with an outstanding cast that negotiate the material with aplomb. If the audience is perplexed by some of what they see, so are the characters, and that allows for a level of identification that'd otherwise be hard to form. The heroes of THE MATRIX RELOADED are essentially superheroes, after all.

If the film has any failings, it's that it has structural issues. Scenes often do not flow seamlessly from one to the next, giving the proceedings a herky-jerky feeling. A bit more time in the editing room probably would have smoothed these rough edges. In addition, it almost seems as though the film isn't long enough, as it leaves so many questions unanswered, so many themes unexplored. Given that THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS is in essence the second half of a very long movie of which THE MATRIX RELOADED is the first part, this is to be expected.

Summary: Matrix With a New and Diffrent Style
Review: The Matrix returns, yes finally the long awaited sequel comes back to only bomb box offices but so many true matrix fans are depressed over these times saying this film does in no way live up to its original and it is bland with repetive fighting and confusing plot, heres the truth open your mind to this wonderus talent you need to most likely watch this film 2-3 times to fully understand it and therefore you will love it cheerish it on that note....heres my reveiw open the arrival of Matrix Reloaded....first off if you dont like Sci-Fi action then this movie isnt for you over the years people have refered Sci-Fi action as nerd stuff well you can blame star wars for that this is the matrix okay now for my honest review....this movie is summers biggest thing and alot of ranting is going on about hulk making more money than this flick i seriouly doubt it matrix is far more complexed and alot more mind compelling than a big green shrek looking thing jumping around smashing up buildings i am not saying that the hulk will be bad but i am saying that matrix reloaded will rule the summer box office this movie the matrix reloaded starts off with a star trek feel and the introduction to zion the last human place in the real world if you have seen the animatrix's Final Flight Of The Osiris then this movie may be more of a sense to you anyways this movie starts of with a warning recieved by the crashlanding ship Osiris telling them that the machines are digging and heading straight towards Zion thats where Niobi, Jason, Trinity, Morpheus, Neo, Ghost, and all of Zions Leaders come forth to come with a plan their plan is to find the keymaker which can bring forth the awnser to the matrix that will end the era of the machines that is if Neo (The One) can survive this deadly task before reaching his conclusion in this movie he battles hundreds of agents smiths fights other random agents goes on a car chase flys half way cross the world and the story goes on anyways if you havent seen the movie yet and you are reading this review right now then this review will help you knowledge of whats the movie is about because i explained somewhat of it anways go see it 3 thumbs up

Summary: Computer knowledge
Review: To really understand, you have to know a great deal about computers and how they operate. For instance in the scene when Neo is fighting more and more Mr. Smith's, it is related to advancing levels of a computer game. Likewise, the car chase scene is like playing the higher levels of a computer game. You have to keep in mind in that these Matrix pictures are primarily related to computers. I must buy the DVD to see it again to understand more of its fine points.

Summary: Mediocre adj. Moderate to inferior in quality; ordinary.
Review: I was initailly excited about going to see the movie and I went with 6 very good friends...after the movie we all had the same opinion "pretty pants". I did not find the philosophical content (what there was of it) too hard to digest, infact that part was easy...the drawn out fight scenes where just too much for me to bare. Yeah the special effects were good, but when your'e watching the same fight for about 10 minutes and no one remotely looks hurt you your mind starts to ache with boredom, then the added bonus of waiting another 15/20 minutes for another equally long and drawn out fight/action scene is just overwhelming..Oh Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!.
I loved the first movie, i found it asked more philosophical questions than the sequel, this sequel just reeks of monotony...Zion was just slightly unbelievable for me, the people looked like a bunch of tree dwellers that lived on unemployment benefit, dont bother looking for jobs and drink Tennant's super strength lager all day...lets face it if you were about to be oblitorated in 9 hours you would hardly get out your ecstasy tablets and have a big rave!!! no you'd be massing weapons and preparing to give those machines the thrashing of their artificial lives!!
The Matrix Reloaded did not live up to my expectations and I left the cinema with a feeling of disappointment and a numb bum, the likes I haven't experienced since going to see "Lord Of The Rings", it was only slightly better this time due to the fact I never lost a £15.00 pear of gloves.
