Summary: Sci-Fi at its Best
Review: Total Recall is one of the science fiction movie that is good without overdoing it. So many sci-fi films really go overboard with effects and don't pay nearly enough attention to the cast and the plot.

This is Schwarzenegger in his prime and in the midst of one of the greatest action film runs of any actor. The accompanying cast was terrific as well. This was the kind of film that nobody attempted before, and really nobody has done anything like it since. The idea of people actually living on Mars is a great background for the story. The type of visual effects really were something totally new in the film industry.

Schwarzenegger leads a very good cast in a high action thriller. The plot can get kind of confusing, it took me two times to actually understand it fully. Plot aside, the action makes this film a great watch. Total Recall was really one of the pioneer action films that paved the way for the films that we watch today.

Schwarzenegger was my action hero when I was younger and this movie is one of the better films that he put out. If you want to see a good action/sci-fi film that isn't "too much" then you'll probably enjoy this one.

Summary: A captivating motion picture
Review: This is a remarkable film. It has a very good story line (something you rarely see in a movie with Arnie). It's special effects are even good considering that this is an early nineties flick. You see some crazy stuff like the mutants and the three breasted woman. This flick was written very imaginatively(if thats even a word). The story line is complex but i will try and summarize it.

Arnold is an ordinary man who lives on earth and he wants to move to mars. His wife doesn't want to leave because there are frequent terrorist attacks on mars by a group led by the notorious kuato. Arnie goes to this memory implantation clinic to have a vacation of mars implanted in his mind and he remembers that he was a secret agent on mars with a different name and life. After a series of events he ends up on mars and he finds out that Kuato and his group are the good guys. He is being tracked down by the government (The Agency) and he runs into the caves of mars. He finds out what the government had been hiding and he trys to find it and change it.

I strongly suggest that you buy this if you love Arnie flicks or if you are just interested in a very complex movie about the future. This is a wonderful movie so rent it, buy it, watch it.

Summary: Wow! It kept me guessing....
Review: I really enjoyed this film. I was throughly grossed out, but intrigued by the scene where the elevator removes the arms of a man, and I thought the scene where Arnold becomes a woman trying to pass through customs was hilarious. This movie had tons of action, and I couldn't figure out whether Arnold was still in recall or wether he was back in "the real world". In fact, I still haven't figured it out. If anyone else has let me know.

Summary: Psychological sci/fi
Review: ...Personally I feel Total Recall was way ahead of its time, and captures one of the most twisted reality warping films ever. In Total recall you get Arnold + action + warped futuristic sequences + twisted plot = Godlike. Besides Terminator this has to be Arnold's best film, I mean from the 80's to the early 90's the guy was the greatest action hero. He also wasn't some hip trendy character like you see in todays films, ... Arnold is still a great actor, but the people in Hollywood need to come up with better scripts for the man. Total recall is essential, buy it at once, if you don't own it already...

Summary: One of Arnold's Best
Review: This movie is Arnold's most thoughtful film, and is one of his best films. The special effects are top of the line, the action is wonderful, very suspenseful, many plot twists, and a wonderful plot. Arnold begins this adventure where he is dreaming of Mars. He wakes up, and begins to talk to his wife(Sharon Stone). He lives on Earth and is upset that he feels that he is not doing enough with his life. He tells his wife that he would like to go to Mars, but she doesn't want to go, or atleast would rather go to Saturn. Arnold leaves to go to work, while on his way to work in the subway, he sees an advertisement for something called Rekall. Rekall is a place that you go to, to buy memories, while not doing the real thing. He goes to Rekall and wants a 2 week package to Mars as a secret agent. He relaxes into the chair where the memories are implanted. He begins to doze off. Then his adventure begins. Is his adventure a dream from Rekall, or not? Watch the movie, it is well worth it, plus this Special Limited Edition contains many extra features, including a commentary with Arnold Schwarzenegger, which is rare with most of his films, with him during the commentary, also is Paul Verhoeven. Go out there and at least give it a rent. ...Or you can buy this at Amazon.com.

Summary: One of Schwarzenegger's Best
Review: Total Recall is set in the future after Mars has been colonized. People are able to take "vacations" by having a type of brain implant placed in their heads. Alternate options are also available to help enhance one's "vacation".

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Doug Quaid, a working man who has trouble with reoccuring dreams about an event that happened on Mars, but he is unable to figure out what exactly happened. Sharon Stone stars as Lori Quaid, Doug's beautiful but mysterious wife. Doug decides to visit ReKall, Inc., the company who specializes in the implanted vacations. He chooses a visit to Mars as an undercover secret agent to confront the nemesis of his dreams; the evil Mars administrator played by Ronny Cox. Doug was somehow transformed by Cox and his associates, and he no longer has any memory of the events. Doug finds out more than he cares to, and he is left to find out who he really is. Is he simply Doug, or is he someone else altogether?

The plot of the movie is excellent and is loaded with top notch special effects. The hologram scenes are especially well-done. This is a typical Schwarzenegger movie; a high body count and lots of good one-liners to keep everyone amused. Sci fi fans are sure to enjoy this fast paced thriller.

Summary: Dick must be rolling in his grave...
Review: "Inspired" by the short story of sci-fi master Philip K. Dick, "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale," this movie starts off as a mysterious, intellectual, and action packed thriller, up until the line "Conseeder zis a divohse!"

And then we go down from there.

To its credit, it stays true all the way until Quaid battles his wife. While the story involves more and more possible true/implanted memories in Quaid while he strikes deals with the powerful government, the movie quickly goes to a Doom like shoot em up on Mars. What could have been a sci fi "Memento," 11 years before the fact, turned out to be nothing than a Swarzennager blood bath. A pity.
