Summary: Wonderful dinossaur movie!
Review: If you are a dino-buff like me, then you already know this is the best adventure movie for someone eager to watch the marvellous beasts in full action! OK, the story is lame and uncredible, but who cares? It is just an excuse for us to watch the real stars: T.rex, Velociraptors, Triceratops, Parassaurolophus(what a cool name!)and Stegossaurs. The animals are portrayed as nimble and reasonably smart beasts. That's great and in accordance to recent conclusions by some researchers.

There are still some paleontologists that claim the dinos were stupid and with a low metabolism, just like present-day lizards. I don't know: if that were true, how could they keep their dominance for 150 million years? Mammals were around since the beginning of the dino age but were relegated to a very humble ecological role during all those million years. Birds are intelligent and extremely active and they evolved directly from Velociraptor-like dinos. So I think it is ok to portrait them the way the film did. Some behavioural details (the way T.rex took care of its offspring) may be purely speculative, but not impossible.

My dream is that someday all this high technology (if not the same budget) will be applied to film a serious documentary about dinossaurs or, even better, the whole history of life on earth. While it doesn't happen, stay with "The Lost World" for fun, excitement and lovely (although man-eating) "monsters". Spielberg is the right guy to direct this movie (hey, he's one of the best in the business!) and it is a highly satisfying experience. Remember, you will watch it because of the dinossaurs!

Summary: Why?
Review: First of all, I give this film one star above its lowest rating, simply for some of the action sequences and special effects - no one can deny that they were well done.

Now, what I would like to know is how on Earth Hollywood can inject such an inflated budget into a movie and not care less about the plot? After reading the book, I thought.. hmmm this would make an interesting movie, however found this movie to be totally plotless! If they'd stuck to the story in the book, they would have rescued this mindless travesty! If they didn't want to stick to the story in the book (for some narcotically influenced reason)- they could've at least made sure that the bloody thing had some sort of a plot!

Summary: Jurassic Park 2 as good as it can be!
Review: Come on! Do you think that they can make a dinosaur sequel to(at one time) the biggest movie ever made? No, but they did a good job trying. How can you make a dinosaur movie and not put it up to Jurassic? They had little to work with because the original pretty much took care of any sequels(since there was never a sequel planned.) Pretty entertaining!

Summary: Boring.
Review: Why are they making Jurassic Park 3 now? They obviously ran out of ideas after the first film.

For a short while 'The Lost World' ticks along nicely and you think you're going to see a decent follow-up. But then the team reach the conveniently-never-before-mentioned second island and special effects take over. Halfway through this film I felt like walking out of the cinema. It has none of the atmosphere, sense of wonder and awe of the original, seems to be played for laughs most of the time. Yes, it seems the makers of this film have done what the makers of every deadbeat series does - aimed it at undemanding children, their only remaining hope for an audience. Though to be honest, anyone of any age with an IQ of more than 20 will be bored senseless by this. It's just big special effects and very little else. And the T-Rex-in-the-city scenes are possibly the most pathetic monster-on-the-rampage sequences ever to (dis)race the big screen.

An insult to the original film and to the book (which, despite being good, couldn't even come up with an original title).

Oh, and Mr S. won't be directing Jurassic Park 3 because he says it will 'just be about commercialism'. Hmm. Unlike this film then.

Summary: Sequel in the usual tradition
Review: I would have felt a bit miffed if I'd paid cinema prices to watch this. However, on rental or cable this movie is worth a shot.

We all know the story by now...dinosaurs rampage and eat lots of people. What is mildly surprising about this movie is the distinct feeling of deja vu. There are no real additions in terms of feel to the original, other than a different cast and a weaker plot.

Don't get me wrong - this doesn't make the film unwatchable. Just bear it in mind while watching it. It's almost certain that you'll love it if you loved the first, and there are some great (if not a touch contrived) scenes.

It will, however, probably make you glad they didn't (please!) venture into making a third.

Summary: Pretty entertaining
Review: When I first watched it, I was thrilled knowing what will come next or will happen. I almost flew out of my seat near the end. After I watched it a few times, I saw things that I realize ain't true. My brothers and sisters; though, really enjoyed it. So when they are watching the horror movie, I would then have time to do my homework. I still enjoy the movie nowadays.

Summary: Better than the first
Review: Not as good as the book, but still very good. Great special effects, and good storyline. Much better than the first movie, which was a little corny, especially compared with the book.

Summary: i think it's what i have been looking for in a movie
Review: i think it all i like in a movie comedy, love, action and alot of bloo

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Special fx. That's all they want, ain't it?
Review: Why is it that films like the Friday 13th series receive such bad press and yet films like this one get rave reviews? Special effects, of course. They seem to be all that matters in films today. To heck with originality, character development, constructive plotting and innovation. Just give 'em lots of dinosaurs running around.

Actually the first twenty minutes or so of this are okay and you think you're going to see a decent film. But then the dinosaurs take over and all you're left with are special effects, chase scenes, more special effects, more chase scenes, more special effects, and then a few more special effects thrown into the bargain.

Oh yes, and there's quite possibly one of the tamest, most predictable rampaging-through-city sequences since time began.

Maybe it's just as well dinosaurs have died out. If they saw this film they'd eat its makers. Hmm, mabe that's not such a bad thing.

Summary: Easily Steven Spielberg's worst movie to date!
Review: When I think about Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, ET and Saving Private Ryan I find it hard to believe that a director as brilliant as Steven Spielberg actually had a role in making this horrible film. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen! Nowhere as brilliant as Jurassic Park was. It insults the audience with its horrbly unoriginal plot. Guess what? There's a whole other island filled with dinoaurs that we didn't know about before! And you know what? some evil greedy men want to bring those dinosaurs back so its up to Jeff Goldblum to stop them! See what I mean? But then it REALLY gets bad. At the end an adult T-Rex takes over a ship and invades an American city Godzilla style. Basically the entire movie is a pointless and slow dinosaur massacre through which we just keep asking, why don't they just shoot the damn things with those freakin guns?! I would have given this 0 stars if I could. Horrible. I know I basically spoiled the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it, but trust me, I did you a favor.
