Summary: Where's the Plot?! 2.5 Stars!
Review: The second addition in the Jurassic Park Trilogy is The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Yeah it does have a cool title, making you think that they come up with some sort of other kind of story to go with the original. But No! They have to come up with the exact same story line. Why? To make money. This film is mostly stupid, exactly like the original, which shows sequels can make money and still (be bad)! Very few have lived up to their predacessor. (Few of which are The Godfather Part 2, American Pie 2, Rush Hour 2, & Austin Powers 2). Not to mention all that took a nose dive into stupidity, (E.G: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Urban Legends: Final Cut, and of course Halloween III: Season of the Witch).

The film is about the rich scientist again, who this time thinks he can controll the dinosaurs, and keep them from killing and destroying everyone and everything! Only this time Sam Neil don't return, (and that was a smart move), along with Laura Dern. But Jeff Goldblum returns, (and you seen his career take a nose dive), eh? Anyways the same thing happens in the first that happens in the second, and it's not that good. The kids will probably like it, but parents will more than likely hate it.

Give thumbs down to JP2!

Summary: People are too critical
Review: Ok, so it's not as good as The first movie. Or the book. Or the film it is named after, but I still think it is quite a good movie. If you don' compare it to those other things, or even the first JP movie, it is a good film in it's own right. I enjoyed it when I bought it, and still do today (The DVD's features aren't spectacular, though). I like dinosaurs, but I think they could have used some variety. T-rex's and Raptors are cool, but there are hundreds of other Dino's to choose from that are just as menacing. Anyway, I encourage people to maybe have a look at this, and if you all ready have, see it again.

Summary: Why didn't Spielberg stick to the novel?
Review: After seeing the original Jurassic Park (and reading the novel) I felt it was a pretty good action flick and made some needed concession to the book's length. Overall Spielberg was on-target with most of the film-to-novel choices and the effects were excellent.

Jurassic Park II is a total mess, mostly because el Spielbergo tossed Crichton's "The Lost World" novel out the window and just scammed the title. There are a few scenes ripped from the novel, but the story is not even on the same planet. If Jurassic Park II had followed the formula of the original (and at least used Crichton's basic premise for The Lost World) it would have been a far better movie.

And you just have to see the ending sequence to believe it. What was Spielberg smoking when he had a T-Rex running through a city like some bizarro King Kong? Taking the dinos off the island was a mistake of epic proportions and the whole ending sequence was ludicrous to say the least. Bad, bad, movie and I place this Spielberg effort right down there with 1941 or Hook.

If you want to experience a movie that is fun, action-packed and interesting (and actually has more elements of Crichton's The Lost World), buy Jurassic Park 3 when it becomes available.

Summary: Less plot + More dinos = Shallow sequel.
Review: Although shallow, contrived, and practically plotless, the Jurassic Park sequel The Lost World does deliver the thrills when the dinos come out to stomp, roar, and devour the supporting cast and lead bad guys. The movie is a tad darker than the first and features a bitter taste of greedy cynicism, but the T-rex rampaging through San Diego is every monster fan's dream come true (and gives screenwrier David Koepp his just deserts for delivering such an illogical and insulting storyline), and that sequence is the sole reason for the three stars as opposed to two. A big budget cinematic equal to substandard big bug schlock like Earth v The Spider or War of the Colossal Beast. Worth seeing once only for the San Diego segment.

Summary: RUIND BY THE CITY SCENE!
Review: I thought that it was the end of the movie when malcom and shara were rescued by a chopper. All o a suden a whole new plot begins, It was like i saw 2 movies. this movie would have got a better review if the movie was left alone when they were rescued. also the movie was no were as creative as the first. I do reccommend it to everybody. It is quite a ride!

Summary: the latest gossip
Review: Alot of people think that the 1st is better then the 2nd but I think their as good as each over . Lost World is a real film if your looking for a funny ,sad, romantic or thrilling movie Lost one is the one your looking for . One of my favourite parts was when the girl kicked the raptor out the window and then Ian Malcolm says they kicked you out of the team . Because at the start she says that she got cut from the gymnastic team . I think Lost World is much...much... much better then Jurassic Park /// .

Summary: Good, But Somewhat Disappointing
Review: Jurassic Park was a behemoth blockbuster of epic proportions. This one was too. But, Still, there was a sense of magic that the first one had and this one didn't. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fun ride. Jeff Goldblum returns and finds out that Richard Attenborough has sent a crew to his dinosaur island. Goldblum realizes that his girlfriend Sara(Julianne Moore) is one of those people. He sets out on a rescue mission to the island to get his girlfriend out of there. His little daughter tags along for the ride. Why didn't he mention he had a daughter in the first movie?. Anyways, things go wrong when they arrive and he too is stuck on the island with a new group of dinosaur poachers. The movie, like the first, has amazing, eye popping effects. The dinosaurs are very, very real. The action scenes are fun and entertaining. The end climax in San Diego was hilarious and fun. But, I keep getting this feeling that there was something missing. Jeff Goldblum is solid as usual. The daughter storyline was odd and didn't seem to fit. What was the point of that?. Anyways, it's a decent film, but doesn't hold a candle to the brilliant original.

Summary: Better than the first by a longshot.
Review: This film is better than the original and everyone who says otherwise doesn't know a good movie if it smacked them in the face. The first had better acting. Kelly ruined the movie. But what people have to understand is that a movie like The Lost World is not about acting. It is about dinosaurs. The Lost World has twice as many dinosaur shots. It was slightly more realistic than the first. Way more people got eaten. The more people get eaten the better. More people got eaten there for it is a better movie. Simple as that. This film is far more scientificly accurate than the first. The biggest problem with the first Jurassic Park is that t-rex can't see you if you don't move crap. Who ever came up with that idea dosen't know anything. The Lost World fixed this huge problem. The first film made the raptors to smart. Like a dinosaur has the intelegence to open doors. In the Lost World they jumped through the glass which makes more sense. Still the lost world should have given the raptors feathers. The Lost World also was the first movie to have the dinosaurs take care of there babies. The San Diego scene was very cool but I think it is silly they let the t-rex live after all the people he killed. With all the films flaws it still is much better than the first. Plus we get a High Definition master transfer with anamorphic widscreen and great sound plus lots of supplements. This movie has survived as one of my favorites.

Summary: Be Careful
Review: This edition is not the edition of The Lost World that comes in the two DVD Jurassic Park Collector's Set. It does not have deleted scenes, conceptual sketches, designs, and storyboards, models and The World of Jurassic Park. If you want the addition with those features buy the two DVD set or find one that Amazon says has those features. The package may look the same but it is not.

Summary: The true sequel to Jurassic Park
Review: Does this movie have flaws? Yes, But at least it's a respectful sequel to the original. Jeff Goldblum is in fine form as the lead, and Pete Postlewaite is great as the big game hunter out for the ultimate game. The film is not as good as the first but it's much, much better than Jurassic Park 3. This film deserves your attention, and it really does deliver on its thrills.

If you want to watch a real sequel to Jurassic Park that really delivers on what it promises, then The Lost World Is your Film.
