Summary: One of the best visual experiences ever!
Review: I agree with everyone about this being one of the best all time movies. There are so many levels to this film, look beyond the basic plot lines and see what Ridley Scott was tring to say. I too was very disappointed by the directors cut. It made things to vauge and the cheesy voice over of the original helps fill in a lot of information. I have been looking forever for an original copy, I need a copy with the voice over! This is a must see for Sci-Fi fans, and Harrison Ford fans. Bring back the orginal version!

Summary: An under-rated science fiction classic.
Review: This movie is a masterpiece. The dark, rainy atmosphere of the future LA completely overwhelms the viewer. The story is also very dark and thought provoking. Harrison Ford puts in one of his best performances. Another thing I like about this movie is that its not afraid to take risks, avoiding the conventional plot turns. It doesn't spell out everything for the viewer. It may not appear to the typical action fan, but those people who take the time to appreciate this fine film at a deeper level will be rewarded. I can watch this film over and over again. A must-buy DVD.

Summary: Great movie but why not in AC-3?
Review: Based on Phillip Dick's Classic: 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?', combines the best of true sci-fi with deep characterizations. Only dissappointment is its lack of Dolby 5.1. Still a mystery to me.

Summary: Excellent.....fantastic
Review: I'm sorry, but what else can I say? Ridley Scott's film is a masterpiece. The plot may seem weak, but you have to look beyond what is happening as far as the plot goes, and look behind the plot and dialouge. And as far as this business with the Directors Cut goes, there is no comparison. The DC is superior. It may seem like he's hindering plot comprehension by removing the narration by Deckard, but really it makes more sense with it out. I mean, Deckards narration wasn't a narration but more of a explanation, like the studio didn't think we were smart enough to comprehend what was going on. And I am glad that they removed the "happy" ending which was obviously a last minute tack on by the studio. A review I read of it somewhere put it well when it said, "Before, Blade Runner was a flawed masterpiece. Now it is quite simply a masterpiece." The only thing I could ask of Scott is, give us a sequel or even a remake. In this day and age, it couldn't be more timely.

Summary: Amazon needs to sell the original version
Review: The directors cut is very disappointing. The original with the voice over is better - it fits the piece better as does the music - and even the supposed happy ending is better because that happy ending is tempered by ford's character saying he didn't know how long they'd have together, but then again, who does...

Summary: Great Movie but Really Poor Sound
Review: You would think that a Directors Cut DVD would sound at least as good as what you expect from any top rated DVD. But this release sounds so flat that even when played on a good 5.1 system (and turning the center speaker all the way down, trying to boost the side and rear sounds) I felt like returning it for a refund. The VHS version played in stereo, even sounds better. Hopefully, they will re-release yet another cut, and do for the audio, what has otherwise been done for this great movie.

Summary: Director cuts out the good stuff
Review: I have to disagree with the director and with Amazon. The voice-over was great and lent character and atmosphere to the original. Of course, the ending is better and there are some interesting new scenes with Sean Young and Harrison Ford, but Ford's voice and the Vangelis score melded into a wonderful future film noir experience.

Summary: The Original!
Review: A fantastic movie -- my favorite sci-fi. I'm another who prefers the original to the directors cut. I thought Ford's mono-tone monologue plays perfectly with the surreal back-drop of the future. If you've only seen the Directors cut see if you find the original. It is a must see.

Summary:
Firey the angels fell...

Review: Time enough, to see, to hear this wonder,
Or feel what others cannot for lack of shame.

Have you ever been moved by sound,
One burning song, one uttered note, thunder?
Now shall you be shaken to places unexpected,
Out of the soul, to tears never cried,
Rendering thought useless, dead, raped by a mood.

View bitter scenes with astonishment,
And stun at the roar of a god.
Note the path, upon which you're drawn,
Gathers music beyond one comprehension.
Ethereal rampage of sight and sound,
Lesser children of spirit awe with glee.
In the end we are refreshed by it,
Sufficiently altered by the tranquil ferocity.
