Review: the "T-Rex runs amok in California" thing is just bad, real bad, this movie is so "made for kids"It's popcorn for the kiddies all the way, if I was Steven Spielberg I'd feel ashamed for having my name tagged to this in anyway.... It's ok want to fuel you kids demands for those J/P II toys. otherwise stick to the original or J/P III.

Review: Perhaps Jeff Goldblum is the main reason I watch this film again and again. He's funny, witty, and sarcastic. The action starts early and pretty much keeps rolling. It's a very good sequel and well worth watching.

Review: This Sequel To The original is almost as good. Jeff Goldblum is great as always and so is Julianne Moore
But the real winner here is the Special Effects that easily live up to the original. If you want to have fun, The Lost World is your movie. P.S. Don't Pay attention to some of the negative reviews. If you look closely, you can see that they are written by the same person.

Summary: Waste of film.
Review: Someone should take the writers of this movie and feed them to a T-Rex. This movie ranks as one of the worst movies I can remember. There are so many things wrong with it I don't know where to start. I suppose the most annoying thing about it is the way the characters in the movie practically throw themselves into the jaws of the dinosaurs. You have all these mercenaries loaded with weapons and not one of them can even hit one dinosaur. They all flee in panic every time one shows up. Gee whiz, didn't they think they were going to see any dinosaurs on Jurassic Park??? These people rarely act like someone who is on an island filled with man eating creaturs. And of course, it wouldn't be complete without the annoying kid tagging along, as usual. Jeffrey Goldblum and the hunter are about the only characters that act in a serious manner.
Don't even waste your time with this trash.

Summary: Good.......but could've been way better
Review: Give this one an extra half-star for the superb special effects. This sequal to the 1993 smash-hit blockbuster "Jurassic Park" is not up to the usual, expectant Steven Spielberg standard. It could've had way better character developement, too; Jeff Goldblum is only OK in his return role of Dr. Ian Malcolm. And what's with all the Australian accent guys with big guns trying to act tough?
But don't get me wrong, this isn't a necessarily a bad movie; it definitely has it's moments. For instance, the scene with the trailer hanging off the edge of a cliff is one of the most suspenseful scenes I've ever seen! But if you haven't seen it yet and you're a big Jurassic Park fan (like myself), then definitely see it.

Summary: Sloppy, incoherent mess of a sequel
Review: As for the first JP movie, it was fantastic, with its genuine, suspense, terror and the general scenery. As for JP2, it's a slippery, incoherent mess of a movie, which insults it even further by claiming to be a sequel by boasting Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough (in a brief cameo), the gorgeous Julianne Moore and Vince Vaughn. This movie doesn't seem to be given the typical Spielburg magic to most of his movies. Lots of blood, gore and general grossness are what's this movie based, primarily. It seems more like a slasher movie, with the dinosaurs as the big baddies. The only thing that survives are a few intact scary scenes, a bit of suspense and Julianne Moore, with her bold performance as Ian's latest girlfriend. See JP and JP3. They are much, much better than this slapdash job what Spielburg did. It compares with A.I. as one of Spielburg's worst movies ever directed. If you want to see a good Spielburg film, see E.T., Schindler's List, or either JP or JP3 (though Spielburg only produced JP3, he still qualifies as being involved in the movie's production). What ever happened to the enjoying flicks you used to make about twenty years ago, Spielburg? You KNOW you can do better.

Summary: Trying to save $$$ on location shooting ruined this film.
Review: I recently returned from from Kauai, Hawaii, where JP-1 was filmed in most of its entirety. After seeing the landscape, waterfalls, etc., I had to watch the series again. I put in the DVD and watched JP-1. It was easy to tell that the majority of this film was filmed on Kauai itself. I loaded JP-2 and became disappointed. The story is alright, the animatics are there, but it was easy to tell that most of the scenes were shot in California and not Hawaii. This may seem like a minor detail but I noticed it, and many others did as well, whether they realized it or not. This may've been one of the reasons why JP-2 had poor reviews. When I first watched the movie I thought that something was missing but didn't know what it was. After travelling to Hawaii, and visiting Kauai', I knew what was missing. The scenery shots were shot on the HA. Islands but the close-ups were shot in Eureka Cali. There are no large "Redwood-type" trees on Kauai. The incongruence is obvious! I thought that I was imagining things until I watched the "extra features," portion of the DVD. One of Spielberg's associates discusses the cost of shipping the many vehicles to Kauai, Hawaii, versus shooting in Eureka CA I'm not saying don't rent, or purchase, this film. It is still worth seeing but is the weakest in the JP series!

Review: This plotless sequel is a disappointing let-down from the well-constructed and believable JURASSIC PARK. It depends on violent special effects as an excuse for being. The only bright spot is Jeff Goldblum's acting.

Summary: My Least Favorite
Review: Sorry to say, but this is my least favorite out of the 3 JP movies. I like that they brough Malcom back, and the effects were alright, but the movie itself was...not as good as it could've been. But on the good-side my favorite scene out of all the JP's were in it. The one where the raptors stalk them in the fields. Sure the T-Rex in the first one was cool and the Spino AND raptors were awesome in the third, but nothing beats the Raptor Chase in The Lost World:Jurassic Park. You should watch it but don't be too excited. I'd rent it first.

Summary: Get the Tv version instead.
Review: I think the theatrical version of The Lost World was okay,but the Tv version is way better than this version.The Tv version has many scenes that were edited out from the theatrical versionlike,the scene when Roland and his friend are talking in a bar,the scene when the T-Rex's try to attack Kelly in the High,high,the scene after the brief encounter with the Stegasaurous,and many more that might have made the movie sense.My opinion is to catch the Tv version on Fox,or just buy the DVD and watch the scenes im talking about.
