Review: This is a very welll done movie. The graphics are great and it is enjoyable! My little brothers (who are 3 and 4) have seen this movie as well as I have. They watched the whole thing!

Review: This is a wonderful addition to your dvd library if you love "The Lord of The Rings" - you've read the books and yes the movie doesn't follow it _exactly_ it's still the best adaptation so far and most likely will ever be. There are some great features this has and the special effects are impressive. It's absolutely fascinating to see how Elijah Woods plays his part so well. And Liv Tyler is great. It seems this cast is perfectly suited for this movie.Frodo lives.

Summary: A Visually Stunning Epic With a Heart and a Story
Review: This is a wonderful film about friendship, honor, loyalty and sacrifice set against director Peter Jackson's visually stunning recreation of Tolken's world of Middle Earth. Elves, Hobbits, Dwarfs and Men are all brought together in the Fellowship to help young Hobbit Frodo (Elijah Wood) take the "One Ring" to Mordor where it was forged and destroy it. The stakes are high as the Dark Riders (Ring Wraiths) hear the call of the ring and pursue Frodo and his young friend Sam (Sean Astin) from the start as they are sent forward by Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellon), who knows the power of the ring and it's temptations. The fate of all Middle Earth depends on their success.
There are wonderful performances in this beautifully filmed beginning of Frodo's journey. There is a scene early on in this film where Sam, who has made a promise to Gandolf to stay with Frodo, stops and tells Frodo solemly as they leave their beloved home in the Shire "If I take one more step it will be the furthest I have ever been from home". This sets the mood for the entire film. There is much danger ahead for them. Viggo Mortensen gives the grittiest performance as the Ranger Stryder, who comes to protect them from the Ring Wraiths, and the battle sequences rival anything in Braveheart or Gladiator. We learn later on as the fellowship is formed that Stryder is actually Aragorn, a rightful king of men reluctant to lead his people because of his family's long history with the "One Ring", and the weakness he feels may be in him as well.
Liv Tyler gives a fine performance as Arwenevenstar, an Elf Princess who saves Frodo from certain death and makes an even greater sacrifice for the love of Aragorn. Cate Blanchett also has a wonderful turn as Galadriel, Queen of the Elven world. Everything in this film is perfect. Peter Jackson balances the visual beauty of the film with the dazzling special effects and yet never forgets that this is a terrific STORY.
This is a film that inspires loyalty for all who have seen it. It is an epic that has everything and actually has something to say. It is how we choose to live that is important. At 178 minutes we are sorry to see the closing credits, even if we are treated to the beautiful Enya theme "May It Be". This is a truly great film that deserves the loyalty it inspires and is something really special. "The Two Towers" and "The Return of the King" were filmed at the same time in New Zealand for continuity and you will not be able to wait until December to continue our journey.
Perhaps because it is an epic of the heart, and not an epic of t-shirts and toys, is the reason it made such a "quiet" 800 millon dollars worldwide. A film of this scope which remains true to its moral center of honor and friendship, sacrifice and loyalty, is quite an achievement. Filming all three stories at once took a lot of love and dedication for those themes from both the director and the actors. It shows up on the screen and is the reason "Lord of the Rings" will always stand head and shoulders above the other so called "Blockbusters". This is a MUST OWN DVD!

Summary: Beautiful cinema...
Review: This is a wonderful movie, and I highly recommend it to anyone. Slightly higher to anyone that has never read the book. While the movie is true to the story it tells, it overlooks quite abit of the hobbit characterization that is found in the book. However during the movie this is an easy thing to forgive, and it's impossible not to be swept up in this epic story. I eagerly await the next installments.

Review: This is absolutely stunning. It had many parts closer to the book that I just drooled over. I'm so happy!
I'm so happy! It is even better than the original version. It's twice as good! In the original version they didn't show enough of Legolas' personality (smiling, interacting with Merry and Pippin, and eating with pleasure.) This version also shows the elven prejudice against dwarves, the miserable trip for Aragorn and the hobbits, and it has hilarious extras of the actors. This has a lot more character development,
like with legolas and gimli becoming allies instead of enemies. The cut scenes are the best!

Review: This is absolutely the best movie I've ever seen. Everything was perfect. The effects, the casting, the costumes, the acting, the direction, the music, everything. If you can get out to see it, I highly reccomend it!

Summary: Almost too much
Review: This is ALMOST too much for me to take. Never a Tolkein fan before the movies, I am slowly making my way through the books. However, I am gratified by the additional scenes that were cut from the theater version. The plot does so much better with their addition. Also, the extras on this DVD will keep you busy for days. I love watching things like that- the making of movies and such. I can't wait until the Two Towers is out on DVD too!

Review: This is an absolutely mind-blowing and stunning work of unspeakable proportions. With the directing of Peter Jackson and a near perfect cast, "Fellowship" is brought out of the book and brought to life on the big screen and what a movie! This isn't just your typical fantasy movie. This is an experience...and it's just the beginning of what's to come later on. The extended edition makes either the Platinum Extended Edition or the Collectors Gift Set worth every penny, bringing out new scenes not seen on the regular edition of the movie. A definate classic for the ages. Well done Peter!

Review: This is an amazing and creative story for those few have not yet seen it. The creative story line which highlights the broader theme of good and evil, only begins to describe the Lord of the Rings--The fellowship of the Ring. The landscapes in the movie are exquisit and breathtaking. Like the Last Samari, where scenes of Japan are shown from a higher elevation, the footage provided in The Lord of the Rings gives the watcher not only higher elevation shots of mountains, valleys and amazing waters, but lower more close up shots of beutiful vistas.
The creative story and great views are equally surrounded by dramatic make up and character development. Frodo, the main character, begins his journey which will define him as a person. The film provides the viewer with amazing and challenging battles, each more surprising and better than the last, that begin to define Frodo's character.
The frendship and loyalty themes developed between the Fellowsip of the Ring are important messages for the targed audience as well. For Sam and Frodo, two of the nine Fellowship members, perhaps the strongest and most lasting bond is made. True, friendship has no boundries, not event the lack of ability to swim when Sam tries to catch Frodo as Frodo begins to row away on his journey to destroy the Ring.
Watch this and enjoy all of it.
