Review: We can't believe this load of crap was called Star Wars for the ninties! Three of us were watching it. One fell asleep as the other two watched a ridiculous plot with annoying as hell characters unfold. If you have insomnia, this movie is recommended but if you vomit frequently, don't watch it!

Review: This movie is a great furturistic fantasy style movie in which a cab driver played by Bruce Willis has to save the world from the evil, Darkness. This movie has great special effects such as when driving through the city, where I think Star Wars Episode 2 stole the idea. It has a good story but as usual it always ends good. The acting was superb. I still don't know why no one went to go see this when it came out. I guess it was ahead of its time. This is a fabulous movie, Don't miss out.

Review: A perfect being (Jovovich) crashes on Earth and must prevent evil from destroying it. She gets help from a cab driver (Willis), and a priest (Holm). Bad guy Gary Oldman proceeds to help the evil attempt to destroy the galaxy for some unknown reason. To be honest I did not understand this film really. I got the basic plot, but it's a bit goofy. Do I care? No not really this was one of the most enjoyable times I had at the movies, and I have no idea why. Willis gives a fun performance, Jovovich is terrific as Leeloo, Ian Holm gets the job done splendidly as usual, and Oldman is one of the best bad guys going. Luc Besson injects this film with energy, and a fantastic futuristic vision. As for the DVD? Weak buy the Superbit disc instead.

Summary: This Movie is Art
Review: This movie is a "forty-timer," that is a movie I have watched over and over and still marvel at it. Not only is it a terrific story, fun and and fast paced, but the film is shot and edited with stunning perfection. The ONLY complaint I have about the DVD is there are no extra features. I want to see the "Making of" and hear comments by the director and the stars. There are so many little details and artistic touches to this movie that I don't believe I will ever catch them all. Better yet, I won't get tired of looking as I view this movie time and again. A+++

Summary: Spellbinding
Review: This is a must-buy for Bruce Willis/Die Hard trilogy fans. Running and gunning throughout the film will keep you on the edge of your seat. The beautiful Milla Javovich is the key character in this movie and like a pre-Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) one at that. It's an interesting story, visually impressive and stylish. A great popcorn film.

Summary: Watch it twice
Review: I admit that I didn't like this movie the first time I saw it. But after a second time it grew on me to be one of my favorite sci-fi movies.I liked how the future was portrayed, with the thousand-floor buildings, compact just-push-a-button living quarters, hovercraft automobiles, etc. Milla Jovovich and Bruce Willis lacked somewhat in the chemistry department, but other than that I enjoyed their performances as Leeloo and Corbin Dallas. Gary Oldman is always an excellent villian. Two great things about the movie have to do with the soundtrack. Sarah Brightman's "Diva's Opera" and Peter Gabriel's "Little Light of Love" were excellent, worth just buying the soundtrack. Some things in the movie were a little too hokey for my liking, like the fashion-show wardrobe (you know, the kind of fashion show where no one would actually buy any of the garments because they're just too weird), but if you can look past some of the goofiness you will find a plot with more substance than just flash. If you didn't like it the first time, give it a second shot, you might like it after all.

Summary: Superbit or not so super bit?
Review: The movie is awesome or I would not have bought it!! The superbit part is what I wish to share. The picture quality is better than non-superbit, but not so much that I would reccomend holding out for a super bit over anything else. The sound quality seemed slightly crisper also. If you have a choice, get the Superbit, with the right equipment, you will notice the difference.

Summary: I had to fast-forward
Review: I know this movie is critically acclaimed and that alot of people really like this movie, but I thought it was horrible. I think Bruce Willis is great and he usually makes good selections, but I can't imagine what he was thinking with this one. I found the plot to be weak and relatively hard to follow but it wasn't really the plot that made it so bad; it was the acting. Bruce Willis is a fine actor so his performance was good, but not good enough to carry this film. The remaining actors seemed to walk right off the set of Starship Troopers (the hands down worst movie and acting I've ever seen) -- the actors seemed like they just got their lines the day of the shoot. There was no emotion when there should have been, there was no conviction, no connection even to the scenes they were in. The special effects were decent but still not enough to make this movie worth watching. There have only ever been two movies that I fast forwarded through parts of and this is one.

Summary: This is a FUN movie
Review: Absolutely brilliant in its ability to not take itself seriously. Mainly through the use of archetypical characters "Fifth Element" is able to hold your attention as it flings you from one scene to another through an all together ridiculous universe. Then just when you start to become numb to all the craziness--enter Chris Tucker. I hope I am not doing this movie a great disservice by focusing on its campy nature, but that is it's primary strength. Nothing is done to excess here. The movie is fast-paced, but not too fast-paced. The characters are charicatures, but not too exaggerated (that maybe a matter of opinion) for the movie. The special effects are eye-catching, but don't distract you from the story. Just a very nice light-hearted flick.
