Review: This movie takes place at any given recent date. Armegedon is supposed to be the end of the earth. That is exactly what it is about. 14 United States, hand picked astronauts must go into space to destroy the meteorite.

Summary: Amazingly funny despite seriousness of the topic!
Review: At first it seemed another testosterone junkie action flick. However, to my surprise it was very edge of the seat action, mixed in with lighthearted humor. The actors portrayed the meteor as the arrival of the pizza delivery boy. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes mass destruction special effects like those seen in Independance Day.

Summary: A technically excellent DVD.
Review: I'm fairly new to DVD, so I was anxious to watch Armageddon which just arrived yesterday. The Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio was terrific. I also enjoyed the Aerosmith Music Video included in the extras. I don't like it when the DVD starts playing immediately when you put it into the player. This is one that does. I prefer to get a menu first so that I can check the A/V setup.One scene bugs me a bit. The one where AJ has been fired and some 2 or 3 days later he's already the owner of his own business. Not very plausible. I think the story in "Deep Impact" was better, but Armageddon is a lot more fun.

Summary: Greatest Movie Ever
Review: This movie was one of the best movies that I have ever seen. It is filled with a bit of everything: action, sci-fi, comedy, and of course the romance between Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler was so real it amazed me. I only wish it could have been me!!! I own this movie and I watch it all of the time, and I suggest everyone else do the same!!

Review: Good flick. Bruces' acting got lax in the middle but Billy Bob covered him well. Very good effects.Could have used a little less Aerosmith, but what do you expect with his fine daughter in it.

Review: This has to be the WORST of Jerry Bruckhiemer's movies!!! I was a big "The Rock", "Crimson Tide", "Top Gun" and "Con Air" fan. But this movie insults our intelligence to think that we would send DRILLERS into space is ludicrous. Deep Impact is what would really happen. If you feel like being insulted by a high priced completely unrealistic plot...then GET THIS MOVIE!!! If you want to see a GREAT asteroid movie...rent "Deep Impact'!

Summary: Number One Movie Does Not Mean Good
Review: No doubt, the special effect of this movie was outstanding. But that's all about, for $150 million dollars. Maybe that was the only reason I bought it on DVD even though I saw it in the theartre. It was just another "corny" movie in 1998, after "Godzilla" (*1/2) and "Deep Impact" (**1/2). Hollywood studios have spent a lot of money on visual effect these years, however, the stories are getting worse. Although "Armageddon" was the number one movie in 1998, by the box office gross, it does not mean it was a good one. I still have to say that the DD 5.1 sound is one of the best on DVD.
