Summary: I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it
Review: "Armageddon," directed by Michael Bay, marks a new low in sci-fi/action cinema. The film tells the story of an oil drilling crew, led by Bruce Willis, which is recruited to blast off into space in order to help stop a killer asteroid from destroying the earth.

The story is both stupid and unbelievable. The script is full of cheesy, embarrassingly unfunny attempts at humor. The obligatory romance between Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler is a waste. The action sequences are far too loud and chaotic; they seem like something conceived by hyperactive 4-year olds. And ultimately, the film goes for cheap, manipulative sentimentality, rather than believable emotion.

"Armageddon" is not a total waste. The hard-to-swallow story at least held my attention. And Steve Buscemi (in a supporting role) has a few fun moments. But overall, this is a disappointing film.

Summary: OK, OK...I dig these kind of films!
Review: I don't see why everybody thought ARMAGEDDON was so bad...I thought it was oustanding! I'll admit: I've seen both DEEP IMPACT and ARMAGEDDON and I have to say both of them are great and unique (I just can't decide between the two!). Ben Affleck, Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, and Liv Tyler are all excellent with their roles. So is the rest of the cast. The visual and sound effects were pretty good, too. And even the storyline and plot wasn't as bad as a lot of people thought it was. Michael Bay did a wonderful job directing this film (which was probably a hard film to direct) and the cast and crew of this film should be given more credit because this film really is excellent whether you like these kind of movies or not. And sure, it may seem pretty predictable...but you'll still love it! Besides, it wasn't really meant to be an Oscar-winning film. It's just a fun, "popcorn" type film. I'm glad that I saw it and you should all give it a chance! I can gaurentee you'll love it.

Summary: I don't know about you guys, but i liked it very much
Review: Well, i know, i know, i know that the plot is dumb, but so then WHAT?!, the acting was really very good, the FX great, and also i's very exciting, even more than Deep Impact, yeah, Deep Impact was good for me, but Amrmageddon it's better, i don't care about what some losers and critics think about this film, they can bite my (bleep), Armageddon it's not excellent, it only fails for the plot, but this film was made with the purpouse of entertaining people, and give them somehow a good time in the movies,i just can't wait to see "Pearl Harbor"

Summary: The worst movie ever
Review: This is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen. It does not have a single redeaming quality. Not even the special effects are good enough to make this movie worth seeing. It is real trash.

Summary: This movie is a "global killer"
Review: This ranks right up there...as one of the all time over-rated movies ever. I usually don't go along with critics, I prefer to see a movie and make my mind up, but this is one time I wish I had listened to them. This film is a corny, stereotypical overwrought potboiler. Michael Bay's roots in directing commercials show in the obvious attempts at emotional manipulation. He cops his moves from films like The Right Stuff and Hellfighters with none of the flair or style. Of course in the trailer for Pearl Harbor he actually rips his own movie off.

Bruce Willis gives a fine performance, he's been in so many stinkers he makes it look easy. Billy Bob Thornton on the other hand does a poor job of delivering his corny lines with any authority. The rest of the cast is typical of this genre, all stereotyped single dimensional characters. They do have funny moments occasionally.

The action is tiresome and after awhile I felt like Michael Bay was literally beating me with a tire iron... .

Summary: Just a night out with the boys...
Review: This is nothing more than a night out with the guys...a lot of locker room macho bravado...not to be taken too seriously, but a good time will be had by all! Decent special effects, a slim yet entertaining script, and some stereotypical bravado will make a fun evening for those not interested in great cinema per sé...

Summary: Deep Impact is WAYYYY Better!
Review: Armageddon is a... sci-fi thriller (with big stars), which actually came after the way better and more emotional Deep Impact. Armageddon is basically about the special effects (which are pretty good anyway), and the ending is kind of sad, but it's not as emotional as Deep Impact. The acting is OK, but the plot is stupid! Why would be get drillers and send them to an asteroid to blow it up?! I mean, take some of the most inexperienced astronauts and depend on them to save the world. OK, maybe I'm being a little too much, but if you want a better movie and a better DVD, then I'd recommend Deep Impact.

Summary: Cool Movie
Review: I gave this film five stars because it is one of the coolest movies I've ever seen. It has some of the best actions scenes in any movie of it's type. Blow's Deep Impacts out of the water. For the guy who said it was too unrealistic, it's a movie, and most of them are unrealistic, except for true stories. I'm not trying to start an argument here, don't get me wrong. Anyway, if you're into things blowing up, asteroids, space and Steve Buscemi, buy this movie.

Summary: A Woman's Perspective
Review: Well, if you like Ben Affleck this flick will give you ample opportunity to drool and gush because it has plenty of beefcake hero action.I found the story to be good, but not great.. this is certainly not a thinking movie...but I was entertained and I liked the interaction and relationships established in the film. The action was good..the beginninng sequence with the meteor shower was probaby the most enthralling and technical scene. I reccomend Armageddon greatly!

Summary: LOUD
Review: I saw this movie in the theatre when it came out. Afterwards, I had a major headache because it was so LOUD. Along with the loudness came cardboard characters, a cheesy plot, and a ridiculous ending. Amazingly, oil drillers are capable of becoming astronauts in a matter of weeks (or was it months)? All your brain cells must have fried if you thought the ending was plausable. When the astroid was blown up, it split exactly in half as though it was sliced like an apple!! It split into two and moved away from the Earth. The ending was one of the most idiotic things I've ever seen in my life. It was more unrealistic than a cartoon. Liv Tyler was cute nonetheless.
