Summary: Excellent movie, Excellent DVD
Review: I am a big fan of Blade Runner and that genre but this movie just kicks ass. Keanu is as wooden as ever but with so much action going on you don't really notice. My ony complaint is that Amazon say its Anamorphic widescreen but my copy is Letterbox widescreen.

Summary: The Matrix Dominates Movie Making
Review: I am a big movie fan, but unfortunately I missed the Matrix in theaters. I saw it once it came out on video, and the instant I finished it I watched it again. And again. It has a mind-bending story, which does take a few viewings to get the whole thing, but the Matrix made that good, and it has AMAZING special effects, which might be the best part. I congratulate John Gaeta who did the special effects for it. I have watched the Matrix over 20 times now, and it is never boring when I watch it. There is always something new to find out in the plot every time you watch it. If you like the Terminators, the Mission Impossibles, or Minority Report, you will love the Matrix. Like director Andy Wachowski said, "It's about Kung Fu vs. Robots."

Summary: The Star Wars of the 90's
Review: I am a film buff, and no other movie has had me wanting more then the Matrix. It is the most original movie, with special effects that will change the way other movies do special effects, like the way Star Wars did. All I can say is prepare to be blown away. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat, and when its all over, you will want more. Its not just for sci fi nuts, all of my friends who hate sci fi love this movie not only because of the action, but because of the killer soundtrack.

Summary: Mesmerizing Action Sequences
Review: I am a huge fan of the Matrix having seen it three times in the theatres and now having my own copy, but I figured that I was the target demographic. What surprised me was how uniformly engaging the Matrix is - I was standing in a long line in the video store check out with the Matrix playing on the in-store displays. These could not be the target demographic - the people in front of me were getting a Disney movie; in front of them a foreign film; and several others in front of them. While the wait was long, no one seemed to be in a rush since everyone was fixated on the Matrix. And this is Manhattan, New York City, where we are typically an impatient bunch.The particular sequence that was holding us all captive was a shoot-out in a building's lobby. The hero and heroine take on and overcome many bad guys with some great gun-play and acrobatics. There is great initial framing and the stunts and action are truly impressive. Having seen this sequence many times myself at home in slow-mo, I was watching everyone else in line - their necks were all craned, not a word was spoken. I've never seen another movie hold everyone's attention so completely. This is only one of several fantastic action sequences. And what makes this movie great is the consistency of the plot and elements of the story, which other reviewers have noted in detail. As evidence of this consistency, as a challenge see if you can answer this: "In the last action sequence with two other agents chasing Keanu Reeves, Agent Smith knows to head directly for a particular building and room. How does he know to pre-empt Keanu Reeves by heading straight to this room while the other agents simply chase?" If you can't answer this question, you haven't seen the movie enough times.

Summary: MATRIX - excellent!
Review: I am a lad who enjoys the extremes of technology, but the matrix does take it one step further. Excellent graphics and martial-arts skill. Amazing film. As you get to the end of the film, all the bits come into place and then you'll understand what the film is about!

Summary: Finally, A Sci-fi Movie that doesn't drop the ball.
Review: I am a sci-fi Fan, and normally, all I am is disappointed by how good a film "could have been if only they had done... or not done...". The Film 'The Matrix', however, is the exception to my usual sci-fi blues. It is intelligently written and, more importantly, the storyline is maintained throughout the entire movie. The special effects are intensely captivating and are, to say the least, stunningly performed. Everytime I watch it, I find another aspect of the film to enjoy. It is, in my opinion, one the most superior sci-fi films to date.

Summary: It was em em em, I can't find the right words to describe it
Review: I am actually giving the movie a 4 1/2 rating simply because I think the end of the movie could have been done better, else, it was the greatest sci-fi movie that I have seen, and I dare say, better than Star Wars Phantom Menace. The only other movie that left me in awe ever since The Matrix is Sixth Sense. You really gotta see this movie to believe it. Infact, it is the only DVD I am ever going to buy instead of renting.

Summary: The Matrix is good in any language
Review: I am an exchange student in Japan from the US. When the Matrix came out in the US, I let it slide by. When I came over here, however, my Japanese friends were crazy waiting for the Sept. 11 opening day. I was so sorry that I did not goto see it in the states! Wonderful special effects! Even in Japan, the movie was in English... that didn't help much since I have already started to forget English! But, Mah-trix (Japanese pronuciation) is one thrill-packed, slam-blam-thank-you-ma'am, action movie! Go ahead and buy it!

Summary: 2nd review for me and still great movie.
Review: I am kinda person who watch same movie again and again..if I like it. This is I think 3rd or 4th movie to get into rotation (with "Godfather", "Taxi Driver", "Clockwork Orange"). My friend think I am crazy to watch "Matrix" over and over when I'm 25 years old, but I just think this movie is THAT good. And don't worry I have a girlfriend.
