Summary: This movie roxz
Review: This movie is the best. It's not supposed to be R I mean I'm 10
years old. I think that and so do my parents. At first they wouldn't let me watch it but then we watched it together and they decided it was appropriate. My parents are really big freaks about violence. I mean they almost didn't let me get the first one. I don't know why people think this movie is horrible. The special effects are awesome. So this movie is the best movie I have ever seen in my whole life. It is also my favorite. So, the parents who read this should decide better about this movie if they have sons that want to see it. Not if they are under 10. But anyone above 10 should probably be able to watch it because it is not such a bad movie. So watch the movie and decide for your self. Now go watch the movie or FREE YOUR MIND!

Summary: Lack of extras baffling
Review: Considering that "The Matrix" was and still is the gold-standard of DVD features (multiple audio tracks, commentary, several documentaries and featurettes, alternate viewing options ('follow the white rabbit'), cast and crew bio information, and MORE all on a single disc!), the absence of any such features on the 'Reloaded' DVD is disheartening. I can only speculate that Warner Bros. Home Video is planning another 'Matrix Revisited'-type DVD to sell separately and make more money off of. 'The Matrix Reloaded' itself is a rare work of art. The DVD edition is about as pathetic as a Paramount DVD release. It is the quintesential waste of the DVD format, offering little over a VHS tape edition or a bootleg. Rent it or watch it off cable. Don't buy this version. Wait for the inevitable 'Special Edition' to come out.

Summary: What happened to the Matrix?
Review: Okay, so this movie answers some questions that were not answered in the first one, but that is all. That is the only reason this movie is watched. It is completely abysmal, totally unnecessary and the special effects cold have been ten times better. Too much of Neo's "Superman Thing" with a digital Neo rather than the actor, and too much...amend that - a waste of time with the whole Zion thing. I hope that the next matrix is a lot better, but from what I have seen here, I seriously doubt it. Matrix Reloaded is not worth having, not worth watching, and seriously shows how someone can really stuff up a good story.

Summary: That was Zion?
Review: The whole premise of the story is to save Zion. Then they showed Zion. I don't know what I expected. But I didn't expect Zion to be just a rave party, with everyone giving in to the wilderness of their fleshy desires. To me, Zion looked like a bunch of coke heads who were wasted on the blue pill. After seeing that, I couldn't take anything further in the story, seriously.

I kept saying to myself, "Is it really worth all that effort to save THIS?" THAT is what Morpheus was referring to when he said, "Welcome to the REAL world." ??? If that's the REAL world, I'll take the fake one.

Summary: Too much Hype, Too little Substance
Review: The movie doesn't have the same effect as the original for several reasons, including expectations of what is coming next after the 1st movie was such a big hit and a ground breaking film. Sequels to a blockbuster are a hard act to follow. Jurassic Park: The Lost World, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Back to the Future 2, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back... never lived up to the original. Super Techies, action junkies and some others give this film high marks. But for this film to stand on its own as innovative or a great story, it falls short. I liked parts of the movie, but do not think it holds a candle to the original. The story could have been better developed and there is way to much reliance on the action instead of the characters. I would give it a C+. A number of films reviewed by those who can't get enough action and mayhem, will of course disagree.

Summary: wake up!!!
Review: i saw this movie four nights in a row in the theatres, and every time it was better than the last. there is so much happening that it takes time to allow all of it to sink in. once it does, this movie is more than just appreciable... it is applaudible. it's kinda like waking life... either you get it or you don't... and if you don't, you laugh at things that aren't funny just to ease the tension that is building inside of you because you realize that you are totally confusaed and feel like an idiot. wake up!!! the matrix is pure genius. buy it and watch it and understand it. peace

Summary: The "Phantom Matrix"
Review: Thank God I only paid $14.44 for this DVD, and even though four adults watched it during the first screening, I figure I was still cheated out of about $13.50.

Don't get me wrong, the DVD isn't for $0.94 -- I just figure that's what the double-DVD case is worth should I need to use it to replace any of my misplaced DVD cases.

This movie lacks all of the grace, grittiness, surprise and WOW factor of the original. There is no great surprise, no strong statement about the dehumanizing nature of modern society, no model for rebellion in a highly structured society.

Here's my entire review in SAT format:

The Empire Strikes Back is to The Phantom Menace as The Matrix is to The Matrix reloaded.

It looks like The Matrix, it might even smell like The Matrix (Though it might not -- Smith isn't complaining about the smell anymore) and it might even be called the The Matrix, but The Matrix Reloaded is more like an open-cell foam than the hard hitting metal matrix of the original.

Zero stars.

(And for God's sake, Keanu, shut up. We don't want to hear you talk, we want to see you fight. That's right, fight, not "dance in a fight like manner.")

Review: if u take out the first hour and you leave the car chase scene, that would have cut 1 hour of pure crap. This movie was a waste of time ruining the legacy of the first one.

Summary: The Matrix Reloaded Your Thoughts
Review: The genius concept of the Matrix has philosophy, kung fu, romance, mystery, eye candy, and great characterization. "The Matrix: Reloaded" is the second installment in the trilogy, once again dazzling us with tight visuals and a brain-teasing plot.
While certainly not as mysterious as the first "Matrix" flick of 1999, "the Matrix Reloaded" is a great sequel in its ability to be as interesting as its predecessor was. Reloaded is not as mysterious because it answers questions, but is compelling for its new questions; as expected, this constant barrage of Q&A is rather brain-teasing, and backed by a twisting, random plot for effect.
We see Zion in this film. Zion was only talked about in the first one as we all know, and never actually shown. When they introduced the look of Zion in this film, I was slightly disappointed, because I had my own vision of it. In my mind's eye Zion wasn't simply one big dancing hall of rock, but a dark, dim retreat of humanity. The dance scenes really did bore me to death, and I felt they could have been handled better.
Whereas the first Matrix had only a handful of characters, this one introduces an assortment of new players (and some without explained backgrounds at all). You'll either like this or dislike this, take it or leave it. I myself somewhat enjoyed the new assortment, even though it made the film feel a bit bloated in terms.
Action scenes are back and better than ever. Neo versus Smith, Morpheus and Agents, highway chases, Neo flying... the list is endless. What is genius about these films is the choice to cut back on slow-motion effects - "bullet time - allot, obviously because who wants to see some recycled and copied technique over and over again? We see the most "bullet time" at the beginning of the film, and that's basically it.
Reloaded has been dissed because it accuses Morpheus of being a Shakespearean talking head... Morpheus barely talks at all in this one! He talks a bit much to one other character, once, but that's it. I found what he talked about interesting and it piqued my interest likewise.
So there you have it. A beautiful, dark sequel. Not perfect, but I don't see any glaring flaws to condemn it "bad" or "boring." The major problem I found in this film was the cliffhanger ending, and that's that.

Review: this film shouldnt even be rated R I MEAN THAT ME AND MY PARENTS THINK THIS AT FIRST THEY WOULDN'T LET ME WATCH IT BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS TOO VIOLENT. BUT WHAT DO YOU SAY, I'M 10. I OWN THE FIRST ONE. The way I got to see the movie is because me and my parents rented it. We watched it and they decided it was appropriate. This film has awesome fight scenes. I can't stop watching it. The scene that Neo fights the 100 agent Smiths doesn't get annoying to me anyways. I don't know why other people think it gets annoying. This film is hard to understand, I admit. But it is science fiction. You are suppose to not be able to get it. Besides, I disagree with all the bad reviews. What did you expect, realism?? So, go see it and decide for yourself! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
