Summary: Best Alien movie ever !! Too bad - not-so-good DVD Transfer
Review: This movie would have definately gotten a 5 star review, BUT.... THE DVD transfer is below the standard. After seeing the Alien DVD I was expecting to see another perfectly mastered movie, but to my big surprise the picture quality is quite grainy, and way worse than that of the Alien DVD. Also I have to reiterate that I think the English subtitles are quite annoying. They could be quite useful for deaf people, but for everyone else they're just a nuisance, and should best be turned off. What good is it to translate sound into things like "computer beeping" or "sound of heavy breathing" ? All-in-all a very good DVD which could/should have been a lot better.

Summary: NOT the best of the series
Review: Contrary to just about everyone I know I think Aliens is the worst of the four. Although the Director's cut fleshes out some much needed detail it is inferiour in photography and style to the other three. It's popularity can only be explained when you realise it's the most American of the series. Pace and violence replace beautiful photography, story telling by exposee and pictures. James Cameron is a maker of expensive enjoyable B movies. Alien and Alien 3 were made by ex-commercial filmers (who are visually oriented) and 4 was made by half of a french team which made superb visual films. It shows.

Summary: Good movie.
Review: Good movie. Also, someone stated earlier that it should have won an Oscar. . . It won two (out of 7 nominations). . .

Best Sound Effects (1987) and Best Visual Effects (1987). . .

Summary: It's a shame that Cameron will be remembered for Titanic.
Review: Don't get me wrong. Titanic was very good as well, but who would've thought that the genius behind that massive ship was also the genius behind the second Alien movie? I'm rather new to the Alien saga, but I love them all the same. Of all four, my favorite is this one, Aliens. I love it because Ripley makes friends with the little girl Newt. It's absolutely heartwarming. To think, people living in space thousands of years from now... who would've ever thought that the human heart would still survive? That's so rare in some of the mainstream sci-fi movies. And dog gone it, it's refreshing, is all. Of course, that isn't the only thing that made this movie terrific. There's Jones the cat, safely out of danger from the aliens. The aliens themselves were cool. I like the alien saga because they're rather a blend of sci-fi and horror. They're suspenseful, but they aren't just friday the 13th horror cut 'em up movies. Nor are they just stories of stars and asteroids and spaceships, etc. How boring would that be? I'm not a sci-fi buff, so merely that wouldn't interest me. But these alien movies, and specifically this alien movie, does interest me because all the characters seem genuine. So I highly recommend this one.

Summary: " Want some of this? how bout you m#$@$#?.....AHHHH"- Hudson
Review: that was my favorite line from the movie. anyways, this is the best of the series. alien comes next then alien 3 then (the worst) alien ressurection. this movie has action, horror, adventure, efeects, and drama ( but no comedy because nasty green , acid for blood creatures don't give a lot of comic relief). this one gets 5 stars while alien gets 4, alien 3 gets 3 1/2 , and alien ressurection gets 3.

Summary: One of the BEST!!
Review: Aliens is one of the best sci-fi movies ever. The specail edition is a testimony to that. I would have cut out the scene on lv-426 prior to alien takeover but I enjoyed the added scenes. Well done all around.

Summary: A real humanitic action story.
Review: Some people call T1 and T2 a real humanitic story. But I don't think so. This film called Aliens is a true classic that will be remained to the people in this world. The 17 minute plus director's cut is kind of long, but still one of the best action films. I think it's better than the original because it has more action, thrills, and it showed the dark side of future. These Alien series isn't just a plain action sci-fi film. This shows the dark side of the greedy company, it also shows cooperative things that should be shown in the actual human life, we can see the relationship between Ripley, Hicks, and the kid. So people who just call this film an enjoyable no-brainer, are stupid! I give it 4.5 out of 5.

Summary: This is the definitive edition of the Aliens movie.
Review: For anyone who loved the Aliens series, this DVD is a must-have. The extra footage placed into this collectors edition far surpasses any version previously released on the market. The only thing that has come close was James Cameron's laserdisc special edition of this movie, which was about 6 clunky laserdiscs long. This DVD version of Aliens houses all the information from the laserdisc version and more! All the effort that went into the technical detail for the behind-the-scenes footage is unbelievable. The interactive menu made my hair stand on end! You have to see it for yourself. If you want to increase your DVD collection, start with this piece of science fiction cinema history. This is the way Aliens was meant to be experienced.

Summary: Maybe better than the first one!
Review: I thought this was a great sequal to Alien; Aliens picked right up where the other left off. The action starts right away in Ripley's nightmare sequence. This movie is definately action-packed but I didn't find it TOO gory. One improvement from the first movie was the slight change in the appearance of the aliens.. Rather than a tall skinny man jumping around in a costume, these "zenomorphs" were made to look more like insects. Much scarier. I loved being introduced to the new alien creature towards the end of the film. I definately recommend this movie if you're in the mood for a great horror movie or an action video. Good story line, nice effects, lots of surprises. But by the way, did anyone else notice that when it shows the Marine space ship floating in space it looks exactly like a gun (it even had a trigger at the bottom). Oh well, no matter. It's still a good one. Watch it!
