Summary: Hey, the federation can be corrupt!
Review: Imagine, without Nichola Meyer that Star Trek movie series (original, note) would be lost at sea (or should that be drifting in space).

Whilst Star Trek II actually added plot to the effects (and lets face it, Star Trek The Motion Picture was an original episode with 2 hours of flash added on) Star Trek VI adds pathos.

Out of all the ST movies this is the only one that made me feel like I actually say something with a substance. It was like watching a real film and not just a re-animated television series. If only the later directors would take notes!

Summary: To be... or not... to be...
Review: Saw it in the theater years ago, with Klingons and Admirals and Lieutenants and an Andorian or two, sat down and listened to some absolutely incredible music during the opening credits and, along with everyone else, jumped a foot and a half in the air half a second after the Director's name disappeared from the screen. Those of you who saw it in the theater know what I'm talking about, those who only saw it on video can imagine, and those of you who haven't seen it yet missed the best ST movie of all, and one of the best SciFi movies of all time.

It wasn't until I'd watched it on video a dozen or so times that I started to really appreciate the "damn show trial" scene. I have it memorized, and yet every time I watch I stop and gape at the acting.

And the final showdown scene "The thing's gotta have a tailpipe..." is still exciting.

It's in my top five movies list, and at the top of my ST Movie list.

Summary: PEACE BETWEEN THE FEDERATION AND THE KLINGONS
Review: Nicholas Meyer does ANOTHER fine job directing this 6th installment of the 'TREK' series. He also directed the 2nd. This film is BOTH very sad and very happy for 'TREKKIES'. It's sad because IT'S THE SWAN SONG for the original 'TREK' cast members, and it's happy because it shows the events that led to the 'KLINGON EMPIRE' joining the 'FEDERATION'. This predates the now classic series 'STAR TREK : THE NEXT GENERATION'.

Review: This is classic Trek at its best. The story line is done in true Trek fashion. Just a very FUN movie to watch. GET IT! You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Good movie; nice DVD transfer
Review: I enjoyed this movie and bought it on widescreen; it was one of the first DVDs I bought. The video (although unbalanaced) was excellent; you can really tell the difference in quality between DVD and video with this one. The Dolby Digital sound is excellent; definitely a recommended DVD. Worth the money.

Summary: A Fitting Final Outing
Review: This is one of my favorite star trek movies next to wrath of kahn which is the best one of them all. But this one is wonderful Nicholas Meyer is the best star trek director because he directed the best ones 2&6. First the movie get's off to a good start until it gets just plain wonderful. I really liked the story line in it and the plot the Enterprise was supposed to just escort the Klingon vessel but as the plot unfolds Kirk and McCoy are responsible for Chancoller Gorkans death it reveals so much. Even the special effects are excellent and Cliff Edelman who did the score for this movie was excellent. But i love haow it unfolds and the excitement never let's up until the end you like it so much that you want more but it is excellent in every sense of the word. Bravo to the cast&crew for this movie.

Summary: Beautiful Piece of Work
Review: Absolutely one of the best sci-fi movies I've seen ever - better than Forbidden Planet and better than Star Wars - A New Hope (Episode 4). Certainly this is the best of all the Trek Movies and tv shows - all: including the spin offs and the rip offs.

Summary: A Fitting Finale!
Review: While there are a few glaring continuity errors, as well as a few anachronisms such as looking up Klingonese in books, this adventure plays much better with repeated viewings. The mystery aspect of the plot is what tends to stand out over time, that and how well George Takei plays a Captain in his own right. This will indeed be our last film with the original cast since the recent passing of DeForrest Kelley. Hoepfully the current producers of Star Trek will resurrect Captain Kirk before it really is too late.

Summary: Fond farewell to the men and women of Classic Trek
Review: "The Undiscovered Country" is a flawed but inspired effort. It is solid enough to be a valid farewell to the crew of the NCC-1701A starship. The plot is a bit contrived and frantic at times, and the mistakes a bit glaring (books needed to translate Klingonese, on the Enterprise? McCoy needed to load a missile? oh well...they were nice, if odd touches). And what happened to the Enterprise shields towards the end? Aren't they sufficient to stop the cloaked Klingon ship from inflicting damage? However, as a send-off to this beloved crew, this movie is good enough, with its final act bringing a tear to the eye of every Trek fan.

Summary: Nicholas Meyer is the best Star Trek director.
Review: After the stagnant visuals of The Final Frontier, this was a feast for the eyes. The Undiscovered Country is without a doubt, a close second to The Wrath of Khan. From the dedication to Gene Roddenberry at the beginning to the Paramount logo at the end, it was a masterpiece. The story was very good- nearly flawless, and holds together well. The production design reached its peak on this film- from the tasteful silver, red and blue decor on the Excelsior to the grim icebound caves of a space prison. There could not have been a better farewell to the crew of the Enterprise. Music here was spot on, the main title being very impressive. The Undiscovered Country was the fourth Star Trek film I ever watched, but it is safe to say that this is the movie that got me hooked, and made me want to go back and re-view 2, 3 and 4.
