Rating: Summary: Maybe not Great, but Fun Review: I bought on price, since there was no info about the disc. Turns out to be "Radar Men from the Moon" a Republic serial featuring Commando Cody and his flying suit. The controls are "up-Down and On-Off", but what else do you need with a flying suit? All 12 episodes are on the disc. The picture and sound quality is excellent. And the story... While there are unintentionally amusing bits (the chairs in the spaceship are office chairs such as the one I'm in now; the crook sets the plane into a dive and then pulls the steering wheel off an tosses it out the window) this one is fun. Commando Cody (Commando seems to be his name, not a rank. Bet his parents were a scream) cuts a fine figure in his flying suit, but when he takes it off, he looks like your best friend's dad. And when he takes it off he's wearing a dress shirt and tie underneath. The female lead is typical filler. One of the guys objects to a woman on the spaceship and her rejoinder is, "You'll be glad to have someone along who can cook your meals." No feminism here, boys. The special effects are actually pretty good. The ship appears to be fullsize among the mountains, and if the Moon and Earth both look like California, so be it. Each cliffhanger episode compels you to keep on watching. Not great, but fun. As a glimpse into what your dad did for 12 Saturdays in a row, this one is priceless.
