Rating: Summary: insufferable, absolute rubbish Review: The film "Stranded" looked promising but of course appearances are decieving, this is quite possibly the worst acting I have witnessed in all my movie-watching. The dialogue between the doomed charachters and their conversations are so unconvincingly unscientific and adolescent. This role is so inappropriate for the young, blonde captain, am I supposed to accept that these people are the brightest and the best? Luka's charachter is somewhat believable and he is the only redeeming part of this film, aside form the eerie mars landscapes. I suppose its worth renting, the crash in the beginning is so bad and low-budget it is laughable, KABOOM! I doubt that one of the brightest medical professionals would be as childlike and idiotic as that cute little asian lady. Also, the director should have done more research on the aforementioned professions of the charachters because this movie is a steamnig pile of poo.

Rating: Summary: Accurate Picture of Space Travel Review: The first manned spacecraft to Mars crash lands on the Red Planet apparently due to gravitational anomalies. The module can't sustain the five surviving crewmembers until a rescue mission can arrive, barring any problems, it will take approximately two and half years to reach them. Luka Baglioni, the engineer, calculates that only two can survive. Suzanna the pilot now the captain, due to the demise on impact of their captain, selects Luka because he can keep the module functioning and Jenny the mission doctor as the two who will stay in the module as they have the best chance of survival. Suzanna, Rodrigo the astrobiologist and Herbert the geologist don their suits and take a walk outside the ship. What results is an amazing discovery; but it isn't in time to save all of them! Most of the viewers here have panned this movie; I think because they are used to the Hollywood special effects space extravaganzas. What they don't realize is that most of the scenes in those movies aren't really accurate to what space travel is like. This may be a low budget picture but the effects make it more accurate than those other films. I think this picture is worth seeing. I enjoyed it and I recommend it!

Rating: Summary: worst movie since SWIM FAN Review: this is a travesty, blockbuster does its customers a disservice by even carrying this peice of tripe. It contains horrible dubbing, and a plot line that starts at a crawl and slows down as the movie progresses. it tries to be "artsy" with slow panoramic zooms and pans, but it ends up just boring the viewer to death. if you see this movie in the store close your eyes and forget that its there.
Rating: Summary: Still waiting for the definitive "1st Mission to Mars" film! Review: This isn't it, but it has a few merits. I would say it's far from the worst film I've ever seen, but it really could have been so much better. Special effects are not the issue. Believable characters and credible mission objectives were missing. Why were these depressed actors (and they were so obviously actors) going to Mars in the first place? They seemed to be on a stage, ready to give up on their viability and their reason for being on the stage much too easily. At no time did I feel I was watching trained astronauts conducting a major expedition to another planet. Plus the narrator, one of the women aboard the ship, sounds like she is explaining a high school science project that didn't go the way it was intended to go. I want to see a film that accurately conveys the build-up to the start of the mission, the duration of the trip there, the landing and the possible completion of objectives (whether disasters occur in a film or not is completely up to the creator of the film... I like looking at the possibilities), and possibly the trip home. Sadly, I am looking for all of this in each Mars film that comes out, and I feel that the best efforts are ruined by characters that fall flat so much of the time. However, I am inclined to take what I can from each film that I see. I love the thought of humans going to Mars, so I'll keep watching mediocre Mars films for as long as it takes to actually send human beings there. The sense of isolation and a desolate Martian landscape are conveyed very well. The ending may try your patience a bit. If you love space exploration, you'll want to see "Stranded" one or two times.
Rating: Summary: One for Mystery Science Theatre Review: This movie was bad from the very beginning. It took at least 10 minutes just to get started. The acting is bad, the scenery is bad, the script is horrible, and the delivery of lines is even worse! Even though the actors aren't native English speakers, they could at least do some acting. They appear as though they're not even trying to act. There are also some serious flaws in the movie--the astronauts walk around and carry a dead body as if it weighs a lot even though there's little gravity. And they don't even consider eating the body to stay alive! How dumb are they? I haven't even finished watching this movie yet. It was so bad that I paused it to come here and write this review. I also took a dinner break and found it more entertaining to watch my hotdogs sizzle than go back to watching this movie. This is one that could be a lot of fun for Mystery Science Theatre 3000--and even then it might be too poor to save.
Rating: Summary: big pile o' crap Review: This, "Fear dotcom", and "Big shots Funeral" are all the worst movies in the world. I would rather pay not to see it than see it. Got any other bad movies you want me to know about? (please note I had to put one star on this review to have it posted. It should have negative 5 stars).
