Summary: Great cast... not so great movie...
Review: This simple movie had of course, a great cast. But I thought that the plot was pretty complicated at first but it became simple in the end. There was a lot of chaotic things going on and the movie lost my focus. I tried to stick with this movie but I just lost interest while I was watching it, and I was just sitting through this movie. I sighed with relief once it was over and I don't think I will be watching it again. This movie was a waste of money to me but I do recommend renting it off the shelves first before you buy.

Summary: One of My favourite Movies
Review: 12 monkeys is one of my favourite movies the theme music is the best. The story is filled with surprises and although its darker than the type of movies I usually watch, it's mood is very important to the story. I'm surprised that some people who have seen the movie never realize that the lady at the end of the movie in the plane who says "I'm in insurance" is the same one we see interrogating Bruce Willis earlier in the movie.

Summary: Fantastic Flick!
Review: Sporting a Vonnegut-esque plot of helplessness and Time travel, Gilliam combines his always fantastic imagery (Brazil, Time Bandits, etc.) with a great cast and a great story. Bruce Willis is fantastic in the lead as a prisoner of the future sent back into the past, searching for information that will help his people recover from a terrible virus that has sent the world underground. Brad Pitt is entertaining, if a bit over the top, but he certainly does nothing but add to the movie. If you are a Gilliam fan, this is an essential movie. If you are a sci-fi fan, this is an essential movie. See it!

Summary: I wish i got back to the past to see it again for the 1 time
Review: I saw it about 10 times already. It's unbelievable, but i do find always something new in it. I would like to see it again with all my life experience growed during those 5 years, but i want to see it for the FIRST time again. This is the case where the time travel would be helpful. There is something you could call "charming" in this movie. The whole story is just beautiful (you'll need to watch it several times before you'll really like it however). Every single moment is something different you find attractive, (well, at least i do). I like Willis in 5th Element and in Die Hard, and in Blind Date, but James Cole by him is something special. Same is about Brad Pitt, - special starring in 12Monkeys. The quality of montage and sound editing; Cole trying to escape from the hospital- just get real drunk and try to get out your own house to understand how brilliant was this scene filmed. And the music. It's not a background - i never saw such a simbiose of the music and the movie anymore. The main theme (based on Piazzolla's Punta del Este) made me start listening and love this great composer's music. I show this title to everyone i like, and i always find a lot about the person by their reaction. Most of them like it.

Summary: classic sci-fi/fantasy
Review: 12 monkeys is an original piece of sci/fi entertainment, from the title to the eerie score it freshens up the tired formula of "time travel". Terry Gillium tones down the visuals to give the audience an exciting, thought provoking and always unpredictable experience. The acting is good, from Bruce Willis' cro-magnumesque convict hero to Brad Pitts is he or isn't he insane animal activist. Although most people found the story to be confusing, I really didn't find it that hard to follow, although to fully understand what it was saying I did have to view it a couple of times. 12 Monkeys will most likely obtain classic film status.

Review: Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt) is a paranoid schizophrenic, he's crazy. Catherine Railly (Madeline Stowe) is a psychiatrist, she's not crazy. James Cole (Bruce Willis) is a 'volunteer' who is sent to the 1990s from the year 2035 to find out why 99% of the human race was wiped out, he's not crazy either - of course no one in the 1990s knows that. Terry Gilliam is the director of this film. It's not really a science fiction, it's a fantasy of the kind only Gilliam can produce. David Peoples (Co-writer of Blade Runner) and his wife Janet Peoples wrote the script. If you ignore the excellent performances and the outstanding direction you'll find that the plot is as brilliant as it is complex. Watch this film!

Summary: The Mind-Blowing Syndrome
Review: I have always been a science fiction fan. From the original Star Trek down to the latest issue of The Incredible Hulk, I know it all like the back of my hand. 12 Monkeys is waaaaaaay up there on my list of favorite sci-fi tales, nay, favorite movies ever made (it currently resides at #10 on my list). It tells the tale of a confused Jesus figure (Bruce Willis) who is sent back in time to collect a pure sample of a plague that nearly wiped out humanity. With astonishing performances from Willis, Brad Pitt, Madeline Stowe, and Christopher Plummer, along with the wonderful direction of former Python Terry Gilliam, 12 Monkeys is a must have. Buy it. Buy it now.

Review:
What you do you when you dont like the usual slasher movies, romantic comedies, hired killer (replacement or not), and other nonsense... You sort of like science fiction movies but really need a sense of humor?
The answer is a bad bruce willis movie. You get some preliminary sci-fi stuff, then get to the funny stuff. Bruce is both a stand-up and slapstick comedian. 12 Monkeys is a must-have. It is priceless. After this, Armageddon and The Fifth Element. Dont be fooled into buying more recent and reportedly good bruce willis movies.

Summary: Head Trip
Review: Time travel is an incredibly difficult subject to deal with, and Monkeys does a _superb_ job of finessing the tough logical details. It has a very engaging plot and for the last half of the movie you're twisting in your seat trying (usually unsuccessfully) to anticipate what will happen next. There are loads of hints regarding the outcome, yet I was caught completely off-guard by the final scene. The last line in the movie, and who delivers it, is really a cherry on top! As a piece of SciFi art, I put Monkeys right up there along side 2001's rapturous celebration of the tragedy of man qua man.

Summary: A Splendid Horror Film
Review: This is one of the most intense visual experiences of the '90's, with Gilliam fusing medieval and futuristic imagery to form a frightening vision of all time merged into one terrifying present. This is one of Willis' best performances, one that should be well noted before some critic dismisses him yet again as just another action-movie hero. Willis practically bleeds humanity as the unwilling prophet of doom. He captures that rarest quality, one that most actors can't do--humility. David Morse is quietly chilling as the angel of death. If the film has one flaw, it's the lack of comedy that infuses most Gilliam films. As I get older, I need a little humor to accompany my apocalyptic despair. This one *will* give you nightmares.
