Rating: Summary: If I could, I'd give it 500 stars (bright blue stars) Review: When you go around talking about this movie, you usually get many odd comments. Ex: it's okay, never seen it, that is like so old. Well guess what, you can't find another movie like this anymore. You're talking about the people who made "Stargate",another good movie. Let's just say that if I were a movie critic, I'd watch out, 'cause this is a movie that takes a lot of guts to make fun of.
Rating: Summary: Impressive Review: The movie question on the proablity of alien invading the earth and I have to admit that this movie is by far the best sci-fi movie I ever had. Good computer graphics, convincing plot and heart-wrenching scenes are all rolled into one. No doubt, it had stayed as the best movie for me in yeras. Any comment?
Rating: Summary: A good summer movie Review: This is one of the best summer movies ever. The movie didn't have any realism but so what,it's a summer movie and summer movies don't need anything else but effects. When i go to watch a movie like this i give my brains a vacation and don't even try to find problems in these kind of movies.I really loved the part where Will Smith tries to outrun the alien fighters inside the alien mothership at the end.Critics might hate it but i loved it.It's a classic.
Rating: Summary: Roland Emmerich Directs Sci-Fi -Romantic-Drama-Comedy! Review: Independence Day is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. All three of the main characters(all male)are hellbent on finding and saving their wife(Whitmore),girlfriend(Hiller) or estranged wife (Levinson);while trying to save Earth from a bunch of city blasting aliens who want to suck the earth dry then blow it up.Whitmore and Levinson are interesting to watch as two men who are barely civil with each other because Levinson accused Whitmore of sleeping with Levinson's wife,Connie.I like this movie because it shows how the human race can pull together to defeat a common enemy.
Rating: Summary: a lot of fun Review: A light, fun movie that pays homage to the great Sci-fi stories from War of the Worlds to 2001. Don't think too hard, watch the big explosions and have a good time.
Rating: Summary: ID4 Provides Its Own Fireworks (And Then Some)! Review: One of the best science fiction movies ever. And while I am only a modest fan of science fiction, I have seen this movie about half a dozen times and I never seem to tire of it. This is the movie that will make you fall in love with Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum (probably the oddest couple since "The Odd Couple"). The special effects are out of this world, the music gripping, and the story line is not as far-fetched as you may think. But a better question is "What would you do"? With all due respect to Mr. Emmerich who did a masterful, the quality is something we have come to expect out of a Steven Spielberg movie.
Rating: Summary: Huge disappointment--a very bad movie! Review: I'm sorry, but this movie was ridiculous! A drunken pilot saves the world from an alien invation!?! It takes one person two minutes to figure out how to operate an alien spacecraft??! President goes to fight in a war against unknown beings??! Let's get real here! If it weren't for the special effects this movie would be pure garbage! None of it makes any sense and it is totally unrealistic. It was a terrible disappointment to see good actors in such a lousy movie - in my opinion it diminished their 'image' somewhat. That movie taught me to think twice before ever looking at another Roland Emmerich movie.
Rating: Summary: Independence Day? Independent films are better, more like. Review: This is one of the most undeservedly overhyped films ever made. The script flaunts the laws of physics at every turn (a wave of flame wipes out the whole of New York but spares a labrador... mmm-hmm), reduces everywhere outside of America to a random group of strerotypes (attention people of America: British people don't use the word bloody ALL the time), has a collection of preposterous characters (everyone in America, it seems, is wholesome, intelligent and courageous) and is quite happy to contradict itself (the laser beams are able to destroy entire cities within a second, but not an aeroplne flying directly into it).The most irritating bit by far, however, is Bill Pullman's ridiculous "gawd bless Americuh" speech which had everyone in the cinema sniggering (click on the "quotes and trivia" link to the left of the screen to read it). Yes, the effects are impressive but the whole thing is so hopelessly written that after a while it just begins to fade from memory, until the only things you remember are the walls of fire, plane battles and explosions. Go get Mars Attacks! instead.
Rating: Summary: It has it all, action, comedy, and sci-fi, a must see Review: This is really not a comment more of a question, I was wondering if you know if ID4 is going to come out on DVD? And if so, when. I would will appreciate it if you can respond to this question. Thank you for taking the time to read this question.
Rating: Summary: a intense movie. Review: this is the most intense movie i have ever seen and this is the best sci-fi war movie since star wars. this entertaining no-brainer has enough action to satify any sci-fi fan. it's worth it.
