Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: Great movie with good effects but one of my favorite scenes is the one with Vivica Foxx showing that nice backside of hers.
Rating: Summary: Awesome, exciting, cool! Review: Aliens are invading Earth and blowing up its major cities. Thrilling action/sci-fi that is very entertaining. Smith and Goldblum are funny at times, and so is Randy Quaid as a drunken crop duster. A bit long, but it never lags.
Rating: Summary: CHEEEESY!!!!!!! not to mention that it stinks Review: Sure the special effects were good and the story had A LOT of potential but they had to ruin it with bad acting by some minor characters and cheap jokes for the kiddies and extremely overused cliches. This movie would have become one of the biggest movies if it had only been rated R and directed towards adults.
Rating: Summary: One of the best movies ever! Review: I thought that Independence Day was one of the best movies ever! The cast was superb, the special effects were terrific! Two thumbs up for ID4!
Rating: Summary: I friggin hate this plotless movie! Review: All special effects and no acting and plot. This movie was pure garbage and Will Smith isn't that funny. Thumbs way down!
Rating: Summary: american propaganda! Review: Never seen such a turkey, worthy of the worst soviet propaganda films... but for the US!
Rating: Summary: The better the trailer, the worse the movie becomes Review: Behold! Aliens being nasty and effects that cost a lot! And that's all. *cyke*I remember seeing the trailer for this and thinking "oooh, that looks awesome." How stupid I was. A bigger budget piece of drivel there has not been. Well, except for Thirteenth Floor. And Godzilla. Maybe Titanic. And Spiceworld: The Movie. Oh, and of course Scream 2. Oh yeah, Deep Impact, Wing Commander, Halloween: H20, kay, so let's just say it was junk. In fact it seems to be that the better the trailer, the worse the movie becomes. Godzilla's trailer looked awesome. I should have remembered back to this film before plonking down seven bucks for that stinker, but I decline. Independence Day. The aliens are coming, and while the world waits to see if they're evil or pleasant, they prepare their evil plan. Monster-sized space ships move in, a cable TV technician (Jeff Goldblum) figures out they're gonna invade. Smart-alec guy, that Jeff. Like it'd take a brain surgeon... Some Air Force fly-guy (Will Smith), becomes the hero of the hour (as always) who, after the aliens level everything and its mother to Kingdom come, manages to get the rag tag bunch of survivors together and chock one back for the Terrans. There's nothing in this film to keep you happy, unless neat-o effects, abysmal story, suspension of all disbelief and some patriotic "badda-bing, badda-bang" is your thing. Randy Quaid plays the alcoholic ex-flying ace who suicides to off some alien dorks, Bill Pullman plays the flying President. Good on the screen, garbage in your own home. Sounds stupid? There's a reason. It is (well, sort of).
Rating: Summary: one of the best sci-fi movies ever made Review: Independence Day was so much better than the critics said it was. In my mind, Independence Day was very good. The alien attack showed how people will work together in a tense situation, even if they don't want to. Besides that, there were many relationships to see and how they changed. The flight scenes were incredibly done, the alien autopsy was cool, and the acting was awesome. All around, Independence Day is worth buying and seeing many times.
Rating: Summary: Sit back and fantasize and you'll be in it. Review: To people who rate this movie a 1 star... C'mon, these movie ain't real... so, don't try so hard to find good dialogue or realism... just enjoy it and let yourself sucked into the movie...Great effects, fun actions, non-stop excitement... what else could you ask for from an "alien invasion" movie? This is the type of INVASION movie I've dreamt for since I heard about ALIENS... BEST BEST BEST!
Rating: Summary: Great actors - Great movie! Review: The special effects in this movie were just out of this world - pardon the pun! Will Smith makes this movie great. It's got to be the best sci-fi movie out. I love the bit where Will Smith hits the alien and says "Welcome To Earth". Hillarious.
