Rating: Summary: Max Rules Review: i thought this movie was beautifully made. a reporter by the name of Lori went to a lab called EMax to get the dirt on what they were doing to the lab animals. when she got there she unknowingly let loose a genetically altered canine named Max. Max could be your best friend or your worst nightmare. i loved the scene where Max has Lori cornered and she has a knife. Just when you think that max is gouing to turn on lori, the love that the two of them shared really shined through. to find out what happend next just watch the movie.
Rating: Summary: A great movie! Review: I`m only nine years old, but I love this movie! I think horror movies are sooooooooooooooooooooo cool! -LunaP.S. I like the part when Max eats the woman and her shoe has blood all over it!
Rating: Summary: Better than average campy suspense flick. Review: My dogs were actually used in the making of this film. They are a rare breed of dog known as the Tibetan Mastiff. After months and months of filming, I was actually pleasantly surprised at the entertainment value this film provides.
Rating: Summary: Maybe I shouldn't be this jaded... Review: Sometimes I think my own cynicism is bad for me. I tend to judge a movie solely on it's promotional material. Sure, that's what it's there for, but still, sometimes I wonder if maybe I'm keeping myself from some really enjoyable movies because off my gut instinct. But all I have to do to assuage those pangs of doubt is to close my eyes and think back to when I was taken, against my will, to go see Man's Best Friend. "No," I said, "That movie will be horrible." And I was right. Oh boy was I right. Lucky me! So jaded I shall remain. Gut instinct prevails.
Rating: Summary: It's a great movie. Though a little shaky on the plot.. Review: The movie, in my opinion, was one in a million. The special effects were cool, the story was cool, but the plot was a little shaky. A modern day Cujo. Only the dog doesn't have rabies. But this dog can climb trees, blend in with the backround, and other stuff. But I don't want to give away the movie so go check it out yourself!
Rating: Summary: AHHHHH! Review: This film is another one of those Sci-fi originals that is sort of strange and campy, yet the characters are interesting, and the film gets more attention than most critics would think. It not exactly Star Wars, but still enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: Hollywood trash at animal's expense Review: This film just goes to show that when Hollywood wants to make money they turn everyone into a tramp. This happened to all involved in "Friend" (hardly an appropriate title). I only hope the ASPCA stepped in sometime and sued because of animal cruelty and the film's promoting of the perpetuation of cruelty to animals. And I hope writer/director John Lafia is real proud of himself. He just sent the need for and recognition of animal rights back to the stone age. Only redeming factor was Lance Henriksen's work. He did the best with what he had to work with as usual.
Rating: Summary: Dog not Scary Review: This is what happens when there isn't a current genre of horror out there. In the 80's it was the Freddy's and Jason's that scared the hell out of everybody. Nowadays, it's the college trillers. But this movie creates horror for horror sake. It does not play on any real fears that people are scared of. It does not even refer to the dog in this movie as a pit bull either. This remake and reselling of Cujo is a disappointment.
Rating: Summary: Good Use of Laboratory Scenes Review: This movie contains graphic violence and graphic animal cruelty. The test scenes are fairly acurate and it was good. If you have a strong stomach, I suggest you watch it.
Rating: Summary: Hey, It's the dog that's so cool Review: This movie is unique, which counts for a lot... But the reasonI'm buying it is that I've rented this movie 5 times to show people the dog. This is an awesome* Tibetan Mastiff, and a very rare breed. He looks young...they get up to 180 lbs, and I was expecting a lot more hair and bulk. The training was really well done and a joy to analyze. ...this is as much a dog fancier's movie as it is a horror/sci fi movie.
