Rating: Summary: You'll feel embarrassed for the actors Review: ...for having to speak the awful dialogue. With the lines Dean Stockwell has to get out, you just feel so sorry for him. He actually has to punctuate his sentences with phrases like "Dear boy." Bronson Pinchot's lines are almost as bad, but at least he gets to be crazed. Then there's the psychic deus ex machina girl who saves everybody. Yarggh. On the other hand, if you're a fan of genuinely bad CGI (computer-generated imagery) effects, be sure to see this--these are hands down the worst you'll ever see in a mainstream production! It's like they got their rendering software in a box of cracker jacks--everything's all shiny because that's the easiest to render. It's a wonder they were able to remove hidden lines. The teeth on the langoliers themselves are literally geometric pyramids and conical projections--and they give them close ups anyway! It looks like they lifted their time rift from Fractal Explorer in Kai's Power Tools! These people are shameless!
Rating: Summary: Very good with poor special effects Review: This movie keeps your attention the whole way through and is very good. But those special effects have to go. Those Langoliers look like something my 7 year old cousin drew with his whole hand wrapped around the thick crayon and put into animation by Disney.
Rating: Summary: A Longer MASTERPEICE!!! Review: This movie may be a little too long, may have very, and I mean VERY, bad special effects and may be something of a minor low-budget TV-project, but DAMN, does this film got some SPIRIT!!! I am surtain that I will go to Bangor some day just to see their airport! This is one of the best movies in history! Though I do recommend that if you're already scared of flying this may not be the right movie for you. Even the airport you're in will become veeery creepy.
Rating: Summary: Good television movie Review: This Stephen King adaptation of four past midnight is a good movie with very good specials effects. The script is also good even if the dialogs are bad. Fortunaly, the actors help much
Rating: Summary: Horrible film Review: I am a Stephen King fan, and I respected enough of his novella The Langoliers, but I just can't stand the miniseries. The acting is rather poor, and the special effects are even worse than a 70's zombie flick. It's kind of fun at first to watch the build up of the mystery, but then the mystery solved way too easily, and all the fun left the movie. If you are Stephen King fan, then you might like the movie, but if you aren't, then steer clear.
Rating: Summary: The Second Best TV movie ever... Review: I am never flying again...
Rating: Summary: Disturbingly satisfying and startlingly compelling! Review: A definite must see--The Langoliers will stay with you for weeks afterwards. It keeps your interest the whole way through. It will inspire your creative side as well as appeal to your adventurous side. When you have reached the end, you may be disturbed at how satisfied you are with the ending.
Rating: Summary: Captivating and insanely satisfying! Review: This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It moves the viewer through the whole gamut of emotions, from curiosity in the beginning to a disturbing satisfaction in the end. With intriguing characters and a bizarre plot, THE LANGOLIERS will stir up dust in the darkest corners of your mind, and remind you to relish today, since tomorrow today will be empty and silent--there is no chance for repentence, even if we could travel into the past.
Rating: Summary: Langoliers will get you! Review: For those who take pleasure in racking frequent fliers miles, here is your bonus-and all with a one-way ticket! Stephen King's brings his mind from his short story "Four Past Midnight" to the screen. Passengers boarded an jetliner only a few have awoken to find the rest of the passengers are missing. Communications out and landing at an airport only to find out the airport is nothing but empty silence. No electricity, food was stale and sodas were flat. In a few only would the remaining passengers find that a swarm of evil langoliers are about to consume the world.
