Summary: A DVD to go to sleep by
Review: I would have had a better time had I gone outside and watched the grass grow. I did tolerate the movie for 15 minutes but enough was enough.

Summary: this kicks $#@$@$ @$$
Review: this was an excellent film.it shows how great low budget films can be. ABSOLUTELY PSYCHADELIC. U HAVE GOTTA LOVE THE SCENES IN WHICH HE HALLUCINATES.

Summary: What a waste of time.
Review: This movie is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I expected better after reading the reviews on this site but then it came to me and I realized that the only people who write reviews are the few who liked it. So I figure I should balance the reviews out by telling you this movie is a total waste of time.

Summary: Pi Is Random
Review: Um, this film was apparently loosely based on an article in The New Yorker by Richard Preston (the The Hot Zone guy) about two brothers named Chudnovsky who used a home-built supercomputer to calculate Pi to half a billion digits. They did this to prove their algorithm works, and to see if Pi is "normal" as a random number, I.E. 10% of its digits are 1's, 10% are 2's, etc., and the Chudnovskys won on both counts.

Summary: Too close for comfort.
Review: The movie is amazing. I saw my own life taken to an extreme and given to all the viewers to pick apart. It made me very uncomfortable. I loved it. Anyone who does not like the movie either (A) hates math, (B) hates computers, (C) hates black and white films, or (D) hates electronic music. The film is probably my favourite film of all time. Darren Aronofsky is brilliant.

Summary: Brilliant sci-fi in it's purest form.
Review: When I saw Pi for the first time, I was in an old independent theatre with my dad. I was struck by its' harsh blacks and whites. I may only be fourteen, but I took in every minute like a sponge. This was truly a masterpiece, both for the story and the photography. This bizarre story isn't for everyone, but for those who enjoy books such as Foucault's Pendulam, 1984, and A Boy and His Dog, this movie is definentally an instant classic. It's dark feel and constant paranoia makes Pi unique, but not unlike Blade Runner or Brazil. In summary, for any Sci-fi fan, this is a must see.

Summary: Very good, but could use some work
Review: Although wonderfully acted with an excellant script it isn't the "BEST movie I've ever seen!" And on a larger screen (52') some of the white effects gave me a headache. Also, although the "film noir" effect is nice during the night scene with marcy dawson looked like the film was ready to split into pieces right in front of me. But, some will like it, and others may perfer something a little more mainstream. And I can't help but mention the title sequence which I think is perfect.

Summary: Quite Possibly the Greatest Movie I Have Ever Seen
Review: There are some movies that could be called the greatest of all time. Stuff like Star Wars, Braveheart, etc. But then there is a *completely different category* of the Greatest Movies of All Time. This uber-category includes movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey and, at the very pinnacle, Citizen Kane. This movie, Pi, belongs in that second category. And even at the level of its finest. Few movies change people. Pi is such a movie. See it as though your life depended upon it.
