Rating: Summary: Lost in the madness of numbers Review: When i first saw this movie i was stunned by it's concept. How to make an interesting movie with a theme like numbers. It's both magical, mystereous, and religeous. Religion has got nothing to do with God (or Gods), it's the obsession of the subject.Welcome to the religion of numbers
Rating: Summary: Last Digit Of Pi Review: The plot itslef may not be great, but the film taking is super. The Black&White gave extra flavor, since this movie is based on the simple yet complex element: numbers. since the movie is insane, "what the...? " poped in my mind everywhere in this movie. Good stuff.
Rating: Summary: You gotta be curious if people who hate it 'really' hate it Review: Notice how the people who give negative reviews just cannot contain themselves, emotionally that is? Some even resort to name calling of those who like it. And then there's the smart-alec comments from supposed mathematicians and self proclaimed experts. Well, not everything you see in the movies are realistic, (world saved by an action hero, very special man) but people like it anyway. I for one find it interesting to say the least. Bottom line: rent it for yourself. Other people don't have your tastes.
Rating: Summary: A brilliant masterpiece from deep inside the mind Review: This movie has to be my favorite movie, right nect to the anime "Akira." 'Faith in Chaos' so easily sums up this movie, a psychological whiz-bang meant to make you think about the origens of your mind and of religion. I'm actually glad that people gave this movie 1 star ratings, it proves some points the movie makes. If you want to see this, you gotta be smart, open-minded, and ready to think. I thought a LOT about thiis film, and it made its mark on me. Kudos to Darren, kudos to all who ponder over pi. You like this, see "A Clockwork Orange," "Eraserhead," "Cube," and definatly "Akira."
Rating: Summary: Chaos in action Review: This movie stretches the imagination and ties the knot where science, math, and reality mix. The movie is shot in an awsome style that mixes quick camera movements with long stylized drama. A definite must see by anyone instrested in the theroies of chaos.
Rating: Summary: Read BETWEEN the lines -- don't just see the lines... Review: With cinematography that will blow your mind, the film awakens the viewer's consciousness, penetrating deep into the realm of life, attempting to distinguish between reality and illusion. The relationship between the two as presented in this film offers a powerful commentary on the importance of simplicity in life.
Rating: Summary: Mind-Bending, Shocking, Refreshing........Outstanding! Review: It is incredibly refreshing to see an independent film of such high caliber, devoid of any trace of Hollywood-ity. I agree though, with a comment which seems to occur in about every 2nd or 3rd person's review: "It's not for everyone." But for those of us who enjoy this genre of movie, it's a great ride with a fitting techno soundtrack; which complements the storyline just as well as Pink Floyd's music for "The Wall." I read that the film was made for just over (or around) $60,000 and Sean Gullette (who plays Max Cohen) also designed the official website. Only one blaring contradiction that I could detect though: Why, if Max isn't motivated by money or the acquisition of material possessions (he states this in the movie), is he looking for an equation to periodicity of the stock market? And, no one from the Government-agency-who-monitors-this-type-of-thing Bureau ever came after him either, which they SURELY would have. In a movie world that is filled with glitzy million-dollar special effects, at last we see a prime example of a film in which they aren't necessary for success (although see "The Matrix;" great story and effects...trust me). Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. Rick B., MD, I'm glad you did. So far, you're the only one I've spoken to who liked it. Mike S., sorry you didn't....you get to pick next time.
Rating: Summary: If you didn't like it, you didn't understand it. Review: WOW! This one makes the top ten favorite of all time. A movie that was different from anything I have seen, highly recommended for anyone with an IQ above a 4th grader. I can see by some of the negative reviews that this film was not understood by these people. Poor ignorant slobs.
Rating: Summary: great intellectual piece Review: this is a great mind film. anyone who likes to think a lot will enjoy it, probably. i loved it though, it is one of my favorite movies!!
Rating: Summary: Horrible Dribble Review: What a waste of videotape. This movie has no clue about the stock market, about mathematics or about religion - the 3 subjects it is trying to integrate. It's just a mess.
