Summary: UNFORGETTABLE
Review: I have to say this movie is diffenately unforgettable. If you like a good blood curling and twisted movie this is diffinately for you. From the very begining things start going wrong. And continue going from good to bad until the surprising ending. I would say this is a must see movie.

Summary: Good movie- horrible DVD
Review: The movie is great- why i wanted to buy- but beware of the DVD. The picture is shaky and the special features do not access completely.

Summary: Like a sweet karate video game but everyone dies in 1 hit
Review: Its the familiar "we must work together" plot. They even have an actor say that we were all put here for a reason. However, they never highlight the skills that each has. 2 of them have the same skill, duh... only 1 skill is required to escape so why do they have to work together?

Throughout the movie they keep asking themselves what are we doing here and what should we be doing to get out. They never answer those questions. They keep asking who put us here, but they never find out.

Why do the rooms have different Xs, and what does each X represent? Why does so and so dislike rooms with this X, never told... The police officers transformation is unexplained and his behavior does not follow.

The engineers lack of a desire to live is unexplained.

Why does X let Y die? How did Y know X family history? Was Y indeed correct? How did X know Y personal information, was X correct?

The deaths are unnecesary and dont increase the level of o-sh!tness (desperation).

Look, these questions are not your "food for thought" type of questions. They(the acting) begg you to ask these questions and they intertwine them in the plot and actions of the characters, yet they never answer them...

The idea is great and i was following the solution of the puzzle which was also great. I thought wow when they figured it out. The acting was also pretty good as I was sucked into this thing all the way. Like i said, they had me asking all kinds of questions about the characters which came from the good acting, but...

Rent this movie? YES Buy this movie? NO You will only want to see it once.

Summary: At last, some originality....
Review: This video is/was one of the best films I've seen in ages.At last some originality in the staid horror genre! You probably know what it's about already, so I won't bore you with a re-hash of the plot, but needless to say I loved it.The plot and direction were direct and didn't meander off into self congratulation and the re-use of the same set,(probably originally a budget thing,) only serves to heighten the feeling of entrapment. Some nice twists in the plot and some complete 180's by the characters,(and accordingly your views of them,)make for a truly unique film.Best of all were the special effects which were clever and amazingly, in this age of over laden cg blockbusters, understated and subtle, the way special effects are supposed to be, i.e. to add tension etc, not the be all and end all of the film.(take note, "lost in space," and others.) I can see people hating it, obviously, but I liked the fact that it required a little thought put into it and you weren't completely spoon fed. Oh, and I don't think they could have done the ending any other way without it being a dissapointment or a cop-out.

Summary: My two cents worth...
Review: Amazing movie. Very creative. If I could give it 10 stars just for originality, I would. It's that good. I've found people either LOVE it or HATE it...I loved it. What's out there? Endless human stupidity. (No doubt)

Summary: excellent Canadian effort
Review: First up, it's the guy from "Pin"!! David Hewlett?!? --something like that?? It's just nice seeing this guy again :) Second, CUBE is a great movie--all the more better cuz it's a Canadian film injecting a little life into the misunderstood and mistreated/commercialized horror genre (ie. Scream X, I Know Who You Did--I mean--What You Did Last Summer, The Faculty, even Silence of the Lambs, any big budget Hollywood "effort"). Third, premise pays homage to the great Rod Serling/Twilight Zone (the original stuff, NOT the updated 80's/90's ****) legacy...asking cool "what if <this> and <that> happened" questions and letting the story go from there.

To get an idea of where modern horror is going, check out "Habit" and "No Telling" by Larry Fessenden..."Evil Dead Trap" by Toshiharu Ikeda is kinda cool too, but it's not really available yet--just "nudge-nudge-wink-wink" your clerk at the nearest alternative video store. Hmmmm...what else?? I dunno...STAY AWAY from all the shot-on-video attempts at horror..."The Dead Next Door" is probably the best of the shot-on-video independent stuff--but that's not saying much at all...

Summary: Unbelievable!
Review: I heard of this movie and didn't know what to think of it. When I saw it after a while I looked at things differently. It definitly makes you a more paranoid person. You feel as if you are trapped inside with them. You feel their fear, anxiety, hopelessness, anger, desperation. I highly recommend this movie.

Summary: Not a bad lil' Sci-Fi flcik.
Review: I kind of liked this movie. Sure, as anyone will point out, the acting wasn't all it perhaps should've been, but if you look past that, most of it works!! The story is very creative, the characters are colorful and play very well of each other, and the suspense keeps it going. My one big problem with this movie was the ending. It was awful, very unnecesary. They really could've gotten away with making it a happier, or at least less akward in the end. Oh well, I still liked it. Its probably best to recomend this to Science Fiction fans.

Summary: Good story, but lags in a few places
Review: Overall I enjoyed this dark story from the gorry beggining to the predictable ending. I liked the plot and characters a lot and the setting was great. However there were a few cons-

1. The whole cube is enormous- much larger than any other modern structure in the world, and were are supposed to believ that it is built secretly underground or in some other hidden area.

2. I know this might sound sick, but with all the booby traps that were in the cube only 2 of them actually, actually killed people.

3. The ending was so damn predictable, let alone frustrating and depressing.

Summary: incredible
Review: The way I discovered this film is that I was looking for a T.V. short from "68" about a man traped inside a white cube he is constantly visited by people telling him "your never going to get out of here" the show was called THE CUBE Jim Henson was involved. This movie turned up during my search. It sounded mildly fermiliar and I decided that it was worth a look. I watch a lot of movies but rarely am I this excited about one as I was this one I have recomended it to most everyone. I could not beleive that some one could make an action film that takes place in virtually one room where a good part of the dialoque is about mathimatics. Think Indian Jones at home with Albert Einstein. I felt that the film makers were laughing at any one that has ever said action films are for television addicts that have never had a thought of there own. The movie is character driven and pacts quite a few plot twists that will surprise. Vicenzo Natali is the director of this film. And his name is one to remember the way you may have done with Stephen Speilberg when you saw JAWS or George Lucas when you saw AMERICAN GRAFFITTI. The man that could successfully put this high concept film together is a true artist.
