Summary: Funny Funny FUNNY!
Review: I wasn't a great fan of Eddie Murphy's work before I saw this movie, but I am now. This movie has got to be one of the funniest films of the last decade, and it is rare that a remake is better than the original, but that is the case here. Eddie's version beats Jerry's hands down! What more can I say? Eddie is great. He's sweet and sympathetic as the gentle, caring Professor Klump, outrageous as the swaggering, testosterone overloaded Buddy Love, and uproarious as every member of the Klump family! And by the way, I'm a fat person, I've got a pretty thick skin, and I didn't find the fat jokes that offensive. Sure they were a little crude and hurtful, but it's nothing I haven't had said to me over the years. In the end, Sherman realised that if you're not happy with what's on the inside, then you'll NEVER be satisfied with what's on the outside. And isn't that something that we ALL have to learn?

Summary: It will break your video\DVD player watching it so much
Review: Eddie Murphy plays Sherman,Kleatus, Ernie, granny, Mama Klump and Lance Perkins in this funny remake of the original 1963 hit movie " The Nutty Professor". His wild comedy of playing all of those roles make him a hard working yet funny guy. Sherman Klump works as a professor who falls in love with another Teacher working for Wellman College. When they go out on a date, a comic named Reggie makes fun of him being so fat. So he creates a postion that makes him lose weight. I dont want to ruin the whole movie so If you want to know what happens after this, buy the movie. I guarantee it will bring smiles to your face.

Summary: Why wasen't Eddie nominated for an Oscar?
Review: Eddie Murphy should have been nominated, and won the Oscar for "The Nutty Professor."How one Man can play all these parts, and you can't even see Eddie Murphy, especially when he's playing Sherman, is what I call a fantastic Actor. Not only is this a great Comedy, but a helpfull film for anyone thats heavy.I use to be a Sherman.I weighted over 380,and I had tears in my eyes watching certain parts of the film.It really hit home. All I have to say is,Eddie, you did a great job,and I can't wait to see Nutty Professor 2.

Summary: Eddy Murphy shows off
Review: Well, this is an average comedy when we look at it by it's jokes. But what makes it more appealing to it's contentors, is Eddy Murphy's huge role. He still is a funny guy. But what I value most here is the description of loneliness. I mean, this movie goes right in the bone with the problems that people might have with their self-esteem, social realtionships or overwight. All of which are daily issues to many many people out there. Michael Stipe said it best: "Everybody Hurts". Very funny, and very serious film.

Summary: The last prejudice
Review: If Roseanne or Drew Carey or John Goodman or Louie Anderson or Oprah made a movie that portrayed African American's as Uncle Tom's, Aunt Jamima's, pimps or any other stereotype, there would be an uproar. Yet the last acceptable prejudice, "fatism" seems a fair target for a man who should know better. Obesity is a disease. A disease with no cure and no successful treatment. When the word diet pops in your mind, remember that only 5% of people that go on diets are able to keep the weight off. This number includes the "normal" people who need to lose only a few pounds. Most people gain back more weight than they have lost. Americans, the most diet conscious people on earth, have more fat people than "normal" people. Fat is the norm, yet it is fine to portray fat people as ugly, socially inept, clumsy objects of ridicule. During the last 50 years, we have identified many prejudices and have tried to right the wrongs of our society. Don't let the last and possibly the greatest (no pun intended) prejudice continue. Boycott this movie and all movies that ridicule others because of their physical appearance. Eddie is at it again - with Laugh at Fat People II aka Nutty Rrofessor 2. After he finishes this he will be doing "Those Crazy Cripples" and "The Deformed Morons"...

Summary: Hilarious
Review: I haven't seen an Eddie Murphy movie yet that wasn't hilarious and The Nutty Professor is one of the best he's ever made. He plays the role of an overweight and intelligent professor that likes a gorgeous new teacher, but he doesn't have the courage to ask her out because of his size. He develops a formula that turns him into a skinnier, arrogant man that seems to have a better chance with the teacher that Mr. Klump (the overweight professor)likes. She turns out to like the skinnier, more arrogant version of Eddie Murphy but thinks he's too out of control. Later on, Eddie Murphy gets stuck in the new body and wants to go back to being Mr. Klump, but the new arrogant version tried to keep him from becoming Mr. Klump again.

The professor creates a formula that can drastically make anyone lose weight within seconds and can't wait to prove it to everyone. However, even this is a challenge when the new, skinnier Eddie Murphy tries to take over and do away with Mr. Klump.

The Nutty Professor is one of the funniest movies ever made in my opinion. Some of the sequences might not be as good as the others, but I don't know anybody in my family or any of my friends that didn't like the movie. It's one of Eddie Murphy's best and if you feel like laughing, you need to get this movie.

Summary: Genius!
Review: Eddie's a genius. His portrayal of all five members of the Klump family is hilarious. I wet my pants.

Summary: Maybe it's Just a Terrible Story?
Review: This Nutty Professor isn't worse than the Jerry Lewis one, it's just bad in its own special way. The cruel attitude toward overweight people, the endless fart scene and the cartoonish depiction of Black people were a turn-off for me and the friends watching with me. Murphy's clever ability to play multiple parts was wasted in an unfunny story. It could have been much better.
