Rating: Summary: This movie is bad Review: I was really looking forward to seeing these two together again and I was so disappointed. The movie tried so hard to be funny. I wanted to turn it off midway through. What is so cute about these poor men being left at the alter and what is her reason? The worse part is the men she left behind still liked her.
Rating: Summary: Classic Roberts! Review: If you enjoy romantic comedies and/or Julia Roberts, you'll LOVE this movie.
Rating: Summary: Greatest Julia Roberts movie ever Review: I absolutely loved this movie. It is a feel good, uplifting, fun movie. It is soooo good to get to view something that has no foul language and no embarassing x rated scenes. I love when Julia and Richard are together, they have such chemistry. Get out the tissue, the chocolate, a best friend and rent this movie for the weekend.
Rating: Summary: For those who don't feel like thinking. Review: This is quite easily one of the worst and most predictable movies ever! I nearly ripped the disc out of my DVD during the scene at her walk-thru rehearsal at the church where she is waiting at the altar for her fiance and Gere steps in instead...ugh! Come on! This is for those who have absolutely nothing better to do. Rent it, if you must, but don't buy it. Seeing once was torture enough!
Rating: Summary: Very cute...definitely worth seeing Review: I thought this was an adorable movie! It wasn't high-powered, but it was very fun and satisfying. There's a nice supporting cast, including several cameos from actors who were also in Pretty Woman. Overall, if you enjoyed the style, pace, and humor of Pretty Woman I expect you will really enjoy this film also.
Rating: Summary: Runaway bride Review: Julia please retire and let some of the more talented( and a lot prettyer) young actresses take parts like this... you so full of yourself
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: Runaway Bride was definately a #1 movie to me! Finally, I could watch a clean and romantic film with two of my favorite stars. There were so many moments where I laughed out loud because of the comedy thrown in this film. There was even a part where I cried with joy. If any of you care for a fun, clean, funny, and romantic movie, then this is for you. I thought that this was much better than Notting Hill which seemed to have a lot of depressing moments in it. Runaway Bride had happy and funny moments throughout the entire film. This is worth checking out!
Rating: Summary: For Gere and Roberts Fans Only Review: A creaky and predictable comedy reuniting Gere and Roberts, Runaway Bride is truly for fans only, or people who like any romantic comedy, without reservation. The screenplay seems hastily written, and revised not at all, because the characters are so poorly drawn. Gere portrays a cynical NY reporter, and while he's better than Roberts here, he sinks in the script's quicksand, becoming a Jimmy Breslin meets John Gray. Gere trots out his familiar mannerisms and conveys a congenial on-screen presence. He tries gamely but there are times you can sense he is suffering, asking himself why he took the part. Roberts, looking wan and emaciated more than lithe, can't find a toehold on the leading lady; you wonder if the character is misguided, confused or disturbed--maybe she's a victim of a children trauma at the hands of her father, a condescending boozer portayed by Paul Dooley. But this movie wants to play it light: her character's weird behavior is explained so oddly you can only hope she finds strong medication. The film's supporting cast (including a normally funny Joan Cusack, lobotomized and wearing a bad hair-do) giggle and look startled as required. The Coach boyfriend is the worst: he's a boorish, lame cliche--you doubt his dog would like him. The film suffers from cloying syrupy-sweet songs; they are almost satirically bad. As for Garry Marshall's direction, don't ask: scenes meander, others serve no purpose, and the pacing is arthritic. Several scenes look like a shampoo commercial: slow-motion, fields of wheat, horses. If this is Marshall's swan song the swan is dying a slow and ungainly death. He seems to have forgotten that tempo is critical to a comedy. Earlier in the day, on cable, I had watched The Flamingo Kid, his finest work. The contrast is striking and depressing. He should have compared the two before releasing Runaway Bride, but the studio probably rushed the film, to milk the goodwill of the stars' fans. Goodwill is not an infinite resource, and stands depleted, after this fiasco.
Rating: Summary: One of a kind! Review: Enough already with the vulgar nonsense that almost all the movies these days have! This one is even better then Notting Hill! It was very cute, it was reserved though, no sexual content or nasty language, Julia Roberts and Richard Gere once again, pair up as a great couple in a wonderful movie! I would suggest this to anyone of any age!
Rating: Summary: duMB MOVIE Review: THis movie is dumb with lame jokes and you know what the ending is from the dumb commercials. Anyone who thinks this is a good movie is out of their bird-brain. Pretty woman was so much better. Buy pretty woman instead.
