Summary: Horrible!
Review: This is truly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The script is full of teen movie cliches and extremely predictable. There is no reason to care about any of the characters. The ending is inane! "Whatever it Takes" is not funny and not entertaining. Avoid it at all costs!

Summary: A disappointing attempt at comedy.
Review: This movie couldn't make up it's mind if it wanted to be a sex comedy along the lines of AMERICAN PIE or a romantic comedy akin to SHE'S ALL THAT. It had the potential to be good whichever way it went, but it never lived up to it in either one. The sex jokes were uninspired and the situations felt awkward and forced. The romance wasn't really emphasized and just not done very well, I felt. Normally, you're rooting for the boy to get the girl, but, in this film, I didn't really care. I felt nothing for the characters; I didn't even find myself rooting against the "villain". Be it the writer's or the director's fault, it was just very badly done. The acting was decent and the dialogue was well written, but the story development just left me feeling flat. Disappointing.

Summary: Okay movie
Review: This movie is a borderline chick flick, definitely. It is not an innovative movie but has some very funny characters. But everything in this movie has been done before.

Summary: The more I watch it the more I love it!
Review: This movie is the most predictible film I have ever seen, In the first 30 seconds you can guess how it will end... But does it matter! it's a light hearted teen flick that will guarentee to leave you with a laugh and a bit of a warm tingly feeling too! Shane West (Get over it) and Marla sokoloff (Dude where's my car) give great performances and are joined by formed SNL cast members Julia Sweeney (Pat) and David Koechner. The best part is this special collectors edition DVD features deleted scenes a behind the scenes featurette and commentary by cast members and directors... what are you waiting for check it out and spread the word of Virgil doolittle!

Summary: Comes off more as a spoof
Review: This movie was pretty...dumb. But I mean that in a good way. I literally laughed really hard at alot of scenes in this movie. Luckly nothing in this movie is really all that serious. There was some good jokes and some very witty little visual gags. Plus it shows that the "perfect" people aren't that perfect.

What really helped is that all the acting was pulled off. This was like a messed up Sixteen Candles. Although I am still not sure how this movie got a PG-13 (the giant six foot penis says it all). If you want a dumb yet entertaning movie then see this.

Summary: Clever plot fails to deliver
Review: This teen romantic comedy had a good storyline, but an uneven screenplay kept it from reaching its potential. The main story is Cyrano de Bergerac times two. Two boys who pine after different girls help one another by feeding one another lines that will win the girls' hearts. This is a clever variation on a very old theme. Writer Mark Schwan should have stayed closer to the main plot rather than throwing in so much superfluous teen fluff. The story was greatly diminished by the inclusion of the three geeks. The prom swimming pool scene was a direct rip-off from "It's a Wonderful Life" and done nowhere near as well.

The story does capture a lot of the frustration of being a teenager and getting that special girl/boy to notice you exist. It had some real moments, lent greater weight by surprisingly good acting from a young cast. Shane West was very sincere as the accordion playing and socially invisible Ryan. He and Marla Sokoloff (Maggie) gave excellent dramatic performances and outdistanced the rest of the cast. Jodi Lyn O'Keefe (Ashley) and James Franco (Chris) were also good but not equal to the former as the popular but superficial high school idols.

This film has a difficult time in a crowded genre with some tough competition. The comedy wasn't very funny and the main story wasn't developed well enough to differentiate it from the pack. It had some charm, but it was nothing special. I rated it a 6/10. It's worth a look for young adult audiences.

Summary: HuH?
Review: This wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen, but it left me just feeling sad that I spent money to buy it. The characters are predictable, the plot is predictable.. well, I should have seen it coming. However, there are a couple of funny moments. That's why I give this movie one star.
