Summary: Cookiecutter romantic comedy
Review: This cookie cutter romantic comedy is a lot like cotton candy. It is sweet and fluffy with almost no substance. It is so syrupy in fact; that you have to be careful you don't go into diabetic shock.

Writer/Director Kris Isaacson tries very hard to make this the perfect schmaltzy romantic comedy. He tries to copy Woody Allen's first person multiple narrative technique from the perspectives of the two lovers, but unfortunately, his writing isn't strong enough to make this technique effective. In the first part of the film, he tries to depict the perfect college romance. In the second part, he tries to portray the jilted lovelorn guy pathetically drifting with his life bereft of meaning. The ending; well I'm sure you can figure it out.

Unfortunately, all this accomplishes is to create a perfectly trite story with characters so cliché they belong in a soft drink commercial. This is why I rated this film a perfect 5/10: perfectly average.

The acting was better than the direction. Julia Stiles was the stronger of the two leads. She was adorable as the misty eyed lover and actually showed some emotional range as the relationship got into trouble. Freddie Prinze, Jr. seems to be determined to become a male Meg Ryan, not daring to venture beyond the safety of light romantic comedy. He was adequate in his presentation of the smitten smurf, but his languid character was such an emotional lightweight that a strong breeze would have blown him away.

I would recommend this as a good date movie for never married audiences under 25. It has some funny and charming moments and won't overtax anyone with complex characters and abstruse plotlines. If you are young or young at heart, you'll probably enjoy it.

Summary: Tasteless, oderless crud......
Review: In the words from a character from one of my favorite films Soylent Green, I would say that down to you is the same as The the describe taste for soylent yellow: Tasteless, odorless crud..(SOL) Just to say Down to you is the most worthless film i have ever seen! Now mind you I do Like Freddy Prinze filmns he's good in most of his films. This picture is just plain awfull, only rent this film to justify why many complain about younger people being heartless, stupid, selfish & wicked fools! There is no logic to how the cast members treat each other. Freddy prinze plays a nice guy who meet's the seemingly nice Julie Styles(who is wasted in the film)and starts to date and fall in love while in school, Prinze character is a nice guy trying to figure out what to do in life, His father played by Fonzie Henry Winkler(also wasted) is a well known chef wanting his son to take after him, instead Prinze fall for Miss Styles character and goes from being very happy to seeing the relationship go down the tubes, thanks to Miss Styles drug abuse, her brain dead freinds who are drugged out and, her sleeping around, To top this off when Freddie Prinze get's upset about her tramp activity she get's peeved at him and runs off to San Francisco, evidently having an abortin(the film never says what happend to the child she's pregnant with) in the meantime Prinze's character get's depressed, get's worthless advice from his ignorant freinds and try to kill himself! to top off the awfull piece of garbage film he takes back the Stiles character in the end! now we know why many say there is no hope for this selfish generation-no morals no goals, nothing.

Summary: A big reminder of how it is
Review: First of all, if you're anything over 35 or so you probably won't like this movie. As for the modern-day teenagers or those twenty-somethings, there is a very good chance that this movie will remind you of yourself and significant other. This is a very personal, yet socially relevant film for today's youth. These trials and tribulations are extremely prevailent in so many relationships. "Down to You" is a great movie to share with someone you care about.

Summary: Down to you
Review: The most romantic film i have seen in ages and truly Freddie Prinze jr's best performance. Contrasting with teeny high school romance which are left to the imagination only, it brought love to life set in college and focussing on the difficuties of young love. One for the girlies - dead romantic!

Summary: Great disappointment
Review: I know you shouldn't expect to much from teenage acting, but I suppose I am always an optimist...my experience with julia stiles and freddie prinze jr led me to believe that this movie could be good, so I went to see it with a couple of girlfriends. HOW DISAPPOINTING. First of all, I kept waiting for the relationship to click. That isn't either of the actor's fault, but that of the casting director. Secondly, the script was awful. What was with the sex and cake? I thought that was really really stupid. Plus, how much sex do college students really need? I think I forgot they were students at one point cause it seemed to me they were eating way too much cake... I really don't blame the acting...they did what they could. I blame the resources. I thought the movie was dumpy and frustrating. It is annoying to hear Freddie go on about how he loves her, etc. and yet not feel any chemistry between them. It is doubly frustrating when you WANT the chemistry, but even when they kiss you just sit their wishing that they had cast someone else for either part. Alright, I have explained my problem with this movie extensively. For real chemistry, go rent THE TAMING OF THE SHREW with Richard Burton or THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL with Jane Seymour. For an original romance (other than SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE and other followers), go rent BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS or something where weird (like crackerjack rings) isn't just dumb (like sex and cake).

Summary: A true love story
Review: I thought this movie was incredible. It really touched my heart and was such a great love story. I think Freddie Printz Jr. and Julia Stiles are so amazing together and are able to make us feel what they were feeling in the movie. I brought my boyfriend Bill to see this movie and he absolutely loved it. Its a movie for everyone! Once again, This movie was awesome and I particularly reccomend it to any teenage girl. I guarantee you'll love it!
