Rating: Summary: Let this movie find a "happy place" in your DVD collection Review: LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY. On PAR with Tommy Boy and Ace Ventura. If you liked either of those movies, you'll love this one. A Golfer hits the ball from a standing position...but a wannabe hockey player(Happy Gilmore) takes a running start. Forget Tiger Woods juggling the ball off his sandwedge. Happy takes a ten yard sprint to the ball and slaps it like a hockey stick. A hole in one on a 440 yard par 4 is a bit extreme...but suspend your disbelief and you'll enjoy this movie over and over again. ADAM SANDLER at his best.
Rating: Summary: Happy makes everyone happy Review: Happy makes everyone happy in this hilarious movie telling the story of Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) a hockey player who's father taught him how to shoot the best slap-shot.This power generates into him joining the golf tour to raise money to buy his Grandma's house back. This is truly a great movie that will keep you entertained as many times as you watch it.
Rating: Summary: Made me laugh out loud - the whole movie Review: This film was my introduction to Adam Sandler, and apparently it is one of his best works to date. If you can put aside your intellectualism for a while and just enjoy the outrageous schtick and sight-gags for what they are, you won't be disappointed. The story is about a guy who justs knows he was born to be a professional hockey player but ends up on the pro golf tour. All the usual gimmicks - and they work great. Tons of laughs here. If laughter is medicine for the soul, this movie is probably a cure for cancer.
Rating: Summary: be the ball... send it home, the hole is its home Review: For sure his best, I wonder why it didn't do so well in the cinema. In recent years the insane sandler has improved in terms of box office results but nothing, NOTHING has come close to this the greatest golf movie of all time. That does include the brilliant murry in Caddy shack. My favourite moments include the boy in the practice nets at the golf course. The woman on the wind screen at the old peoples home and any of sandlers outbursts. This is a film that has to be seen by everyone! The DVD is in full screen which is cool because the fil doesn't need to be complex and the sound doesn't need to be wonderful. The film holds up all by itself. If you want an easy ride watch Happy Gilmore. Or listen to endless love... in the dark.
Rating: Summary: The Caddy Shack for Generation X Review: I knew this movie meant far more than I realized when I unconsciously began doing "The Bull Dance" after sinking a fifteen-footer on the course. Great, great movie. I normally find Adam Sandler's work taxing on the nerves, but Happy Gilmore is the only comedy I have bothered to place in my little DVD collection.
Rating: Summary: The best Adam Sandler/golf comedy ever! Review: And one of the best overall comedies ever as well. Forget the critics-Adam Sandler is a funny guy, just because he doesn't venture into serious [stuff] (ala Jim Carrey, Robin Williams) doesn't mean he can't be a good comedian. This is just a hilarious film, everytime I watch it I laugh. Happy is mean but nice, and so what if the Grandma sub-plot is sappy-it's intentionally sappy, with some funny results. Ben Stiller is hilarious as the "orderly guy", with some great lines. (check out the nametag Grandma-you're in my world now) Bob Barker shows up in a hilarious cameo, and Chubbs is a hysterical supporting character. From his hand, to his alligator story, his antics are great-I was thoroughly surprised when he passed away. HG is such a great comedy though, because it doesn't strive to be overly funny or serious. And in a way, it teaches a lesson, I guess, if a bit vaguely. All I know is, I'll never think of Lynyrd Skynyrd the same way, ever.
Rating: Summary: Its an imperfect movie that manages to be perfect Review: Just as i said in the heading, Its an imperfect movie, but it has achieved something that much more expensive, complex, serious movies with more famous actors can only dream of. And that is re-playability! This is the sort of movie that you can watch a million times, and still find it amusing. I have it on video, and half the time its not rewound properly, so i end up watching it from the middle, the end, or wherever, and i still enjoy it. I must have seen this over 50 times and i still love it. Its a great comedy, and i'm pretty sure u have seen the movie yourself by now, but i'd just like to share my opinion. I can't quite put my hands on it, but there really is something special about this movie. It creates this really nice atmosphere, maybe its all the green colors and grass on the screen that has the soothing effect, or the great acting by pretty much everyone, but whatever it may be, it makes me feel good watching it! The only thing i could complain about is the advertising in this movie. Its gotta be the most gratuituous, most blatant, in your face, obvious way i have seen things advertised in films. I mean.. in this movie it just never stops. For example, from Happy's rival asking for a pepsi, then clarifying that he wants it diet, to happy's t-shirt with 'subway' splashed all across it, to the pepsi banners, and the subway banners all over the place, and the subway stand, and to top it off... a scene is actually set INSIDE a subway restaurant, and if this wasnt enough.. the movie goes to even more ludicruous extremes by having the main character (happy gilmore) staring in a subway commercial within in the movie!!! This is insanity surely. The movie makers probably didnt end up spending a cent on this movie.. the promoters paid for everything! I'm pretty sure i'm right when i say the makers of this film made a profit long before they even finished shooting this thing! Oh well... To finish the review off, get this movie, its great, etc. and the advertising, although very blatant, is so overboard, it actually adds to the film's character. I like picking at it. Here's a tip! If you're looking for a movie for a sit-around drinking game with your friends.. make this movie it. Everytime an 'ad' comes on in the movie.. have a drink. You'll have the time of your life.. i guarantee it!
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Adam Sandler is for sure one of the top five comedians of the 90's.This is just one of the amazing funny films that he has made. If you have a sense of humor you'll love this movie. It has a very funny seen with bob barker getting into a fight with adam. Caddyshack lovers will probably love this one.
Rating: Summary: THE FUNNIEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD! Review: There is one word to describe this movie: hilarious! This is one of Adam Sandler's all-time best hits. My favorite parts were when he would loose his temper and beat people up. It was also funny when he would miss the ball and start swearing on national tv. This is a movie that everyone will enjoy.
Rating: Summary: the funniest movie ever Review: i just couldn't stop laughing.it was so funny.i won't tell you the stroybut i will tell you it is a must see comdey.
