Summary: "The FOB is MIA!!!" (the father of the bride is missing!)
Review: "The Wedding Planner" is the must see date movie of the year. It's cute, funny, touching, and interesting. Yes, it does seem like another silly chick-flick with one-dimensional characters, but it's not. The characters in this movie are so loveable and funny; you want them all to win at the game of love!Jennifer Lopez does a fantastic job as Mary Fiore, a wedding planner who's motto is "Those who can't wed, plan!" She has no life other than her job and doesn't have any potential of love in her life until... Eddie James comes along played by Matthew McConaughey (who is as smug, haughty, and arrogant as ever!). Luckily, McConaughey's character actually needs these characteristics, so it all works out nicely. Justin Chambers plays Massimo Lenzetti, a hilariously clueless childhood acquaintance of Mary's, who comes back wanting to marry her. I must say that Chambers steals the show. Whenever he comes on screen you find yourself giggling uncontrollably at his awkwardness. I must point out that he later played D'Artagnan in "The Musketeer", quite a transition from Massimo! This proves that Justin Chambers is a fantastic actor. Judy Greer also does a wonderful job as Mary's assistant, Penny Nicholson. Penny is constantly hyperventilating over small things (like a broken dish at a wedding). It's really quite funny to watch. I found myself laughing almost constantly throughout "The Wedding Planner" because of the unforgettable and funny characters mentioned above. "The Wedding Planner" also gives us some hilarious insight into the world of wedding planning. One of my favorite lines is "The FOB is MIA". To Mary, this means "the father of the bride is missing". If anyone has seen "Strictly Ballroom" or "Best in Show" then they'll understand what I'm about to saw. A lot of the humor in this film is really just showing you how ridiculous the worries of the wedding planner community are. The traumas that seem important to Mary are just so comical to us that we can't help but laugh.

Summary: Fun, Light, Romantic Comedy
Review: This movie is a perfect vehicle for Jennifer Lopez. Her acting style and personality fit well with the character, and makes the whole movie work. Jennifer plays Mary Fiore, an intelligent and very good wedding planner. We see multiple examples of Mary's ability to organize and plan for complex weddings, from the biggest and most complex activity down to the minutest detail. Mary always has a contingency for every situation. Because of Mary's position, and how the weddings she plans always happen so successfully, Mary is envied by many. However, the truth is that Mary's personal life is dull. As Mary says, "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't wed, plan." Another old saying also appropriate is, "Always a bridesmaid and never a bride," with the substitution of wedding planner. Into Mary's life comes Dr. Steven Edison (Matthew McConaughey). Through one of those bizarre coincidences that generally happen only in the movies, Dr. Steve saves Mary from a runaway dumpster hit by a cabbie who was trying to retrieve ice cream that had fallen from a cone. It takes Mary some time to discover that the guy that has saved her life and to whom she is attracted is going to be the groom for the biggest wedding she has ever planned. The rest of the movie involves maneuvering between Dr. Steve, Mary, and Fan Donolly (Bridgette Wilson), Dr. Steve's future bride, until we reach the rather unlikely, somewhat humorous, and moderately predictable end of the movie. This movie is less than perfect. All the characters treat each other too nicely, even when they are being "mean." Everything works out a little too nicely, even given all the coincidences. Ultimately the movie is a romantic fantasy, with a fair amount of humor that works. Of course, the movie is intended to be a sort of Cinderella story, though Cinderella in this case is pretty and intelligent, and knows how to handle herself in the business world. While some may complain the movie is trite, it does work, it does make you feel good, and I enjoyed the movie well enough to smile at the ending and to want to watch it a second time.

Review: There's something about J.Lo that makes her one of the greatest actresses there is. This is one of the best love stories I've seen in years. It's sharp, witty, and the screenwriters must have taken YEARS to write such a nuanced and detailed plot. Plus, Jennifer Lopez gives the performance of a lifetime. Why wasn't she given an Oscar? What an outrage. Please do whatever you can to see this great American love story.

Review: Mary Marry Me
Well, it's certainly an attractive money making idea. Put man-magnet, Jennifer Lopez (I don't know any guy who doesn't find this woman perfectly cute and sexy) in a chick flick and release it in January. Every 12 to 22 year old of either sex is going to see this movie. And they won't be disappointed. They might not be thrilled, but they won't be disappointed. Jennifer Lopez plays headset-sporting Mary Fiore, San Francisco's ultra-organized-organizing star wedding planner who can produce the perfect social event for anyone, except herself. She's the bride's coach, counselor and spiritual advisor to boot. She soothes nervous brides with her well-oiled spiel, and plucks hairspray, antacid and whatever other emergency amenities her wealthy clients need from a well-stocked utility belt. Having faith in the concept of arranged marriages, her Italian father tries to marry her off to the young pizano, Massimo (the completely adorable Justin Chambers)she grew up with back in the homeland (Italy ... surprise). Meanwhile, Jennifer gets her shoe stuck in the middle of the street and falls in love with the dashing doctor, Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey), who saves her from a runaway dumpster; they have a sort-of date and almost kiss. It's actually a very sweet scene from slapstick action to charming dialogue. And the children (that follow) in the hospital back it up 100%; sorry to see them leave the film forever after just one scene. Later, Jennifer and beau share two or three "old movie cliché" scenes that just stop the picture in its tracks. Adam Shankman directed this comedy with the intent of making it shine like the romantic comedies of the 1930s and 1940s. In several dance sequences, he actually manages to create some genuine screen magic. Others feel horribly "added later" as if the writers were trying to create a nostalgic homage sympathetic to the old black and white reel playing on their first date. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work. "I don't even know your father's first name, but I know the curves on your face." Yikes ... that scene is as bad as a later bride/groom pre-wed chat scene is fresh. Imagine Mary's surprise when she learns her biggest client, yuppie businesswoman Fran Donolly (Bridgette Wilson-Sampras), is engaged to none other than Dr. Steve! This sticky news sets up the conflict for the rest of the film. Popeye would have loved Penny, Jennifer's assistant in plandom. Judy Greer nails this bumbling Olive Oil sidekick role. Leaden where it should be light, this excruciating clot of clichés is as frothy as flat beer. McConaughey (cast only after Brendan Fraser decamped for BEDAZZLED) has an inner radiance that makes for some convincing declarations of love; even though he colors most lines with a smug, "Aw, gosh, ain't I cute" vocal smirk. Lopez is fine as the control freak that even alphabetizes her credit cards but she mugs like a clown in scenes that require expressions of surprise or anxiety, and her Mary is a startlingly unsympathetic romantic lead - the very first scene she's refusing to let a squirming priest use the restroom. The less said about Rocco's and Chamber's putative Italian accents the better. Of all the actors, Wilson-Sampras comes off best and has one great moment: When Fran learns she and Steve aren't getting married (please - it's a foregone conclusion), her look of nausea and disbelief seems distressingly real. The audience will, by this time, thoroughly relate. Basically, "The Wedding Planner" is a sweet love story hampered by contrived conflicts. Lopez and McConaughey act very well and create great chemistry. A good portion of the dialogue is superb, the direction and editing very skilled; however, less than interesting portions of script were unfortunately never omitted. Especially after a crisp appealing first third, expect some serious downtime between peaks. Overall, a light night out.

Review: You're the top wedding planner in the San Francisco area. You got a nice apartment, nice clothes and great friends. What else do you need? Well, Mary Fiore is missing one thing. Her dream guy. In an attempt to save her shoe, she almost gets rammed into by a dumpster, but Dr. Steve saves the day! When Mary's friend Penny gets involved, the nearly fatal collision turns into a romantic date. Matthew McConaughey as Dr. Steve Edison swoops Mary (Jennifer Lopez) off her feet in a dance that almost resulted in a steamy kiss. Mary sure seems to have it made! In an undesirable twist, Dr. Steve turns out to be the groom of a huge wedding Mary is planning. If the wedding is successful, she will be made a partner at her Wedding Consultant Agency. Msry broke the one supreme rule of being a wedding planner--she fell for the groom. As Mary is falling for an unavailable man, her father, played by Alex Rocco I, arranges a marriage for her with an Italien childhood friend, Matissimo (Justin Chambers), who used to eat mud and follow Mary around like a puppy dog. Aww, isn't that sweet? How does it turn out? Who will Mary choose? Well, you'll have to see. I personally loved this movie. I am a sucker for romantic comedies and this one did it for me. I rented it and on the same day I went to buy it! It's a great movie for you girls to make your guys watch! This is a MUST SEE!!!

Review: When i first rented The Wedding Planner from the video store, I thought it was absolutely the worst thing I ever watched. The second time I saw it i started liking it and then once they showed it on tv, i actually liked it. the only negative thing about the movie is jennifer's acting is quite flat and she has no chemistry whatsoever with matthew.

Review: well I loved this movie, its funny, its just great! We all know already what is it about. But what I want to say is that is wrong to compare this movie to Maid In Manhattan! Its way better and even a non JLO fan will love it, if he likes comedies, this is the kind of movie that makes you feel 'easy' and enjoy your time! I defenetly recommend it! ;)

Summary: Don't Waste Your Time or Money!!!
Review: I bought this as a gift for my mother-in-law, who proceeded to tear it apart. Although I secretly agreed, I was embarrased to say so, since I bought it as a gift for her (and of course you cant agree with your mother-in-law)... Here's the Plot: JLo falls for "hottie" doctor, plans his wedding, and steals him away from the soon-to-be wife. And everyone's OK with this. What is this? Watch for yourself, but I'd recommend saving your money and doing something useful with your time like tweezing hairs from hard-to-reach places.

Review: Ms.Lo does it again proving that she can't act. There was no chemistry between the two characters. Also, casting directors have to stop picking actresses like her in movies that could really be good. And another thing does SHE look Italian.I think NOT. Her playing one is just plain insulting.
