Summary: Great movie for the entire family! Everyone will enjoy it!
Review: I was first introduced to this film when my wife's oldest sister said it was a "wonderful" love story, and that we should all see it. I thought, "Not another one of these boring love stories." About a half an hour into the movie I realized that this was not your average love story. My attention was glued to the T.V. and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It restored my faith in love and committment again and made me appreciate my wife even more. This film has become one of our family's favorite. We seem to enjoy it even more every time we watch it. Definitely, a five star movie.

Summary: A Definite Keeper!!
Review: I didn't see The Cutting Edge until about a month ago. I had always noticed it in the TV listings, but I never actually got a chance to watch it until then. Well, I immediately fell in love with it. The skating scenes are all done so well, you'd swear that it was the actors who were doing the actual stunts -- and, you know, they probably were most of the time. The chemistry between the two stars is where the movie REALLY shines, though. Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney are absolutely amazing in their roles as Kate Mosely and Doug Dorsey. Rarely do you see two people mesh together so well. The entire relationship is fun to watch, yet it remains completely believable. My hat's off to the two for giving such great performances. This movie introduced me to Moira Kelly, and I am now a huge fan. Those of you who have yet to see this movie, you'd do yourself a favor to check it out -- those of you who have seen it have probably run through it dozens of times. You will not be disappointed -- I guarantee it. The Cutting Edge is one of my all-time favorites, definitely.

Summary: A wonderful movie that will renew your faith in love!
Review: A movie that always inspires me. While my husband thinks its a little sappy, he still always ends up watching with me! I can watch this in the afternoon, and by evening time, I usually decide I want to watch it again. It is such a nice story, that I wound up stealing my current copy from one of my good friends!!!! A must have!

Summary: Excellent Movie
Review: D.B. Sweeney and Moira Kelly shine in this tale of love on the rink. With excellent chemistry, the two bring to life the story of Doug and Kate, two ice skating partners who don't want to be partners (at first). This movie has all the elements of a great film: great lead actors, great supporting actors, and a great script. Defiately worth adding to your video collection (in fact, buy a second copy for when you wear the first one out!). END

Summary: Excellent Movie
Review: The chemistry between the two leads D.B. Sweeney and Moira Kelly is excellent (reminicent of Hepburn/Tracy). Doug (Sweeney) is an ex-hockey player who is recruted to be Kate's (Kelly) new figure-skating partner. Both are less than thrilled to be working with one another and they share so many fights/sparks it's a wonder that the ice just doesn't melt. Excellent supporting cast and most importantly, an excellent story. Buy this movie and you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Old Fashioned Romance
Review: Let's hear it for a great "feel-good" movie! Obviously not the type of flick that garners kudos from the critics or at the Oscars (not brooding or avant garde at all). However, the chemistry between the characters played by Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney is a treat to behold. This is definitely a wonderful example of the basic "Old Fashioned Romance" genre of movies that builds its characters sufficiently to be believable, has characters that you come to like as the story progresses, centers on a relationship that evolves from animosity to love, and ultimately has an ending that leaves you feeling good. Similar in some aspects to the Anne Heche/Harrison Ford vehicle "6 Days and 7 Nights", Cutting Edge delivers more warmth and ultimately can bring a tear to your eye at the climax even though you know how it is going to end long before it does. Definitely a "Saturday night with your date, some wine, and a bowl of popcorn" classic.

Summary: great B-movie
Review: This movie has so much fun early '90s cheesiness that I love it. Its an easy to digest and extremely enjoyable romantic comedy. Its got sexual tension, bad acting, bad accents, and figure skating! That my idea of a fantastic B-movie.

Moira Kelly and Sweeny are great actors, its just that this movie does not in any way allow that to come through.

For anyone who loves the two-people-that-really-really-hate-each-other-but-end-up-crazy-in-love formula, this is a great choice. Its my Sunday chick flick standard. I think it deserves its cult status.

P.S. its got a drinking contest and an angsty hotel elevator fight! Wheee!
