Review: This movie, I think, shows both sides of Jim Carrey. It shows his well-known Master of Murph, his serious side, his heroic side, and even a bit of a witty side. Yoiu know, BIOTH of them. LOL. Anyhoo, The Mask is a comic delight, for Jim Carrey fans and the people without a sense of humour.

Summary: Surprisingly good and family friendly
Review: The movie had a dozen smiles and several laugh out loud moments and was enjoyable in every way. My 9 year old son has been watching this so I decided that I better check it out. I had always assumed I would not like it. Wrong. This movie is pure fun and has no nudity and I recall no foul language. The story is simple, loser finds mask and gains confidence and power. Loses mask to the bad guy but keeps confidence and gets the girl. No r2d2 in this one, but it does have a dog.

Review: I really liked this movie! I didn't want to watch it at
first and had to actually be talked into it. The title
seemed dumb and I didn't believe I would enjoy the storyline
but was I mistaken.
Jim Carrey does an excellent job as an actor, bringing to
life the personality of the 'mask'.....I feel this was
entertainment at its best and I highly recommend it if you
want a night of total movie enjoyment!

Review: your going to think im insane for saying this but jim careey cant do a mellow roole. I like crazy movies such as "monty python and the holy grail" or "kung pow" but this was mellow when he was normal. when he was in the massk it was good but other wise he was lame. all in all it was funny but serious. kinda deep. I wouldnt in depth so much ans just not insane. it was clean. I have it and they need a dvd extended. i thought it was mellow. most people think its to crazy but you dont knw my taste. everyone said it was too crazy but it would apper...........................................................not.

Review: With a typical Jim Carrey hero -- a nobody with a frighteningly suppressed very angry somebody -- this movie takes it's shocking moments from the the transitions to animation and back; the "normality" of the real life that is killing Carrey; the utter moral darkness of the Gotham type city in which he is caught. I agree with another reviewer that Jim Carrey's ability to work with his anger and withdraw from the darker landscape of the city (not take sides) is the really heroic part of the movie. AND the dog is very cute.

Summary: A very bad comic to film project....
Review: The Mask is a charcter from Dark Horse Comics, whose list of characters are mostly recycled from ideas that either DC and Marvel have done much more effectively. It is then no surprise, that this movie suffers from three problems; 1. Chuck Russell's ineffective/directionless helming. 2. Jim Carrey in a crazy performance (looks like he took acting lessons at Playhouse zero). 3. Incredibly bad story material that does not work as a comic (much less a movie). End is, see this movie on the Sci-Fi channel which is full of junk productions anyway.
