Summary: I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Review: THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES! IT IS JUST REALLY FUNNY. I FIRST SAW THE PREVIEW FOR IT AN SAID 'WOW THAT LOOK'S REALLY KOOL'. THEN I SAW THAT IT WAS WRITEN AN DIRECTED BY THE SAME PEOPLE WHO DID BOTTLE ROCKET. SO I HAD TO SEE IT! I REALLY LIKE BOTTLE ROCKET BUT I THINK THIS ONE IS BETTER. IT IS LIKE A WORK OF ART! THERE IS NOTHING BAD ABOUT THIS MOVIE, BUT I WISH IT WAS LONGER CUZ WHEN IT WAS OVER I LONGED TO SEE MORE. I AM SO HYPED ABOUT RUSHMORE COMING OUT ON DVD.CANT WAIT!I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE! ALSO IT WAS FILMED IN MY CITY OF HOUSTON, ACTUALLY THE SECENE WHERE DIRK AN MAX FLY THE KITE IS THE PARKING LOT FOR DELMAR STADIUM. THE AREA IS NORTHWEST. IT IS 4 OR 5 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE. I SAY GET THIS MOVIE CUZ IT'S THE BEST. I RECOMMED U SEE BOTTLE ROCKET AS WELL. THANK YOU :)

Summary: Deserved more critical acclaim
Review: "Rushmore" should appeal to those who like clever, interesting films. The previews I saw made it look like a knee-slapper, a typical mainstream comedy, and I was surprised to find it much more than that; while it's often quite funny, I'd say that it's a somewhat more sophisticated approach than just pie-in-the-face -- not that slapstick doesn't make me laugh on occasion, too! Excellent acting with sharp, layered character studies made this well worth watching at least once. The soundtrack is also very good and pleasantly out-of-the-ordinary. I wish there were more movies like this one; I'd go out to the movies much more often, as it's one of the best I've seen in years. One thing that made me want to recommend it very strongly is that I watched it with someone who's got very different taste than I do, yet we both loved it.

Summary: Bill Murray was robbed!
Review: Simply put, I found Rushmore to be the best film of the last year. Witty without being smug, touching without being maudlin (think J.D. Salinger), the best compliment I can give this film is that after it was over, I could think of nothing I wanted to do more than see it all over again. Kudos to Wes Anderson and his cast, especially Murray. What a sublime performance!

Summary: I Heart Rushmore
Review: As a film it has what I would call a very unique build, climax, and plot. Also, I see how you could dislike it, but to try and say that audiences stormed out is retarded. I didn't, the three times I saw it the audience applauded at the end. Not everyone goes to theatres filled with cynical jerks who raise their expectations too high.

Summary: Best unsung comedy of the year
Review: The screenplay is fantastic! I believe Bill Murray is at his best when he doesn't have a lot of speaking parts and just plays in front of the camera. That's what he does in this movie. Soundtrack is great as well.

Summary: Rushmore is good
Review: I loved this movie. It is much better than Ferris Buellers day off. Some of the silent scenes have more impact than the spoken ones. This is mainly due to the great acting and directing. Wes Anderson is the man.

Summary: Brilliant Acting from Jason Schwartzman!
Review: I love this movie because of Jason Schwartzman! He was brilliant as Max Fischer - an amazingly weird, smart, sensitive, funny and nerdy boy who still manages to look cute and adoring. I think the one who truly deserves an Oscar is Jason Schwartzman, NOT Bill Murray. Murray's acting was boring - he only has 2 expressions throughout the whole movie - bored and miserable. Watch the movie for Schwartzman, NOT Murray despite what the other reviewers say.

Summary: Harold & Maude & Bill Murray
Review: I couldn't quite put my finger on why I love this movie so much. Not when I first saw it, and not after several repeat viewings. The doomed platonic romance of Olivia Williams and Jason Schwatzman is reminiscent of Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon in Harold & Maude, but it gets more complicated and funnier when Bill Murray takes notice of his young protege's object of affection. The dialogue is perfect from the "O R they" line to Williams' impassioned speeches. Jason's extra-curricular activities, every image on the screen is perfectly in character and amusing to say the least. It's not hard to understand why this film was not compared to SPR and SIL. But it's also hard to understand why it wasn't.
