Summary: Good film that you can enjoy with a female
Review: As someone who is terrifiend of being forced to watch a "chick flick" or some stupid, overacted romance/comedy, I was at first sceptical of this movie. But this is not one of those movies. Johnny Depp's character is funny enough to make me forget I'm watching a movie that's most often described as a "great date movie" (don't let this blurb on the cover from "Siskel and Ebert" scare you off). The movie is entertaining enough to men to enjoy as well as women.

Summary: Definitely not for 13 year olds
Review: The movie is clever, but the rating is misleading. It is sexually explicit and contains nudity.

Summary: Don Juan
Review: This movie brings together very big Big names like Marlon Brando, Faye Dunaway and Johnny Depp but also an incredible romantic scenario in which Deep is brought to Brando (who's going to retire) in a Clinic because tried suicide. In a week's delay, Deep must persuade Brando that he's Don Juan De Marco ...

Summary: I intend to watch this on my anniversary-- all of them
Review: Do you wish you could rekindle the spark of love?
Do you wish you could fall in love?
Are you already happy in love?

If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, BUY (don't rent), BUY this movie. read all the other reviews for the summary. then watch this movie. having your hand kissed, or kissing a woman's hand will never have the same meaning.

after watching this together (my boyfriend loved it, by the way), my boyfriend looked at me deep in my eyes and did the hand-kissing scene. we laughed, we hugged, we ended up in the bedroom. we intend to watch it on every anniversary. we intend to go dancing barefoot on the nearest warm beach at our next vacation. this is what this movie will do for you.

Summary: Emotional Intelligence
Review: This is one clever movie. No, it's not only clever, it's highly intelligent. But it doesn't have a PhD in science or art. It doesn't need to. It has something that's more important - an emotional intelligence. Combined with a healthy oddball view of life. Sort of Groucho Marx meets Walt Whitman.

Don't be fooled by the apparent silliness of the story or the lighthearted romantic humor - this movie is more serious than anything else I've seen coming out of Hollywood. Movie director and writer of the script, Jeremy Leven, is a psychiatrist by profession and, judging by the dialogs in the movie, a damn good one too.

Just one more thing. This movie is not about Brando, Depp or Dunaway, no matter how good they were. People - this movie asks the four most important questions in life!

Summary: Another great Johnny Depp movie!
Review: I admit I was attracted to this movie by the fact that Johnny Depp was in it, but I found myself moved by the movie more than I was drooling over the guy. (His performance is great in this movie, but if you`re looking to squeal at him watch "Benny & Joon.") Somehow I could relate to Don Juan in this movie, just in the way that he lives in a fantasy world. The message of the movie (in my opinion) is that reality and imagination are two different worlds but none is more real than the other. I like movies like this that leave you to piece together your own opinion on what really happened after it`s over. And the DVD is pretty cool; it has a clip included from "Freddy`s Dead" from back in '91, if you want to see teenage Johnny Depp get knocked out with a skillet.

Summary: Great little movie
Review: This movie was definitely a pleasant surprise. Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando are magnificent. If you can't appreciate a subtely romantic film (i.e. you're a redneck or sociopath) you'll probably think it stinks. But if you have any class or heart at all, you'll love it.

Summary: Is LOVE real, or just a fantasy?
Review: This movie entertains. It is fun to watch, to listen and to feel. Share the experience with your significant other. It has great visuals, great lines and great music. This is good storytelling. It takes an inspired classic from Spanish literature and constructs an American tale of fantastic love turned real. Even though it's just a Hollywood tale, it is done well enough to merit wanting to see it more than once. Enjoy!

Summary: The best romance movie of all time
Review: Compared to movies like You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Notting Hill, My Best Friend's Wedding, and As Good As It Gets, Don Juan DeMarco is the only one that explores the true meaning and great depth of both emotional and physical love. For instance, in You've Got Mail and As Good As It Gets, the magic behind those films is how they make you feel excited about the chase of romance and how they make you feel heart swepted when the man finally wins over the woman with his dazzling and sometimes eccentric charm. Needless to say, those two are great date movies. But if you want a great romance movie, buy this dvd. Because Don Juan Demarco appeals to the ideal of love and probes you for its true meaning. In the movie, Don Juan tells Don Octavio De Flores the four questions of value in life: What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only great love. With uplifting and transcending words like these and a great musical score that will make you want to ball room dance as you watch it, there is absolutely no doubt that this the best romance movie ever made. Buy it. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

Summary: For the hopeless romantic in all of us
Review: This movie is absolutely one of my favorites of all time. Depp's character is an over-the-top romantic who finds the perfect word for the perfect time. The opening scene where he seduces a woman in a hotel restaurant is absolutely great, and it sets the tone for his character for the rest of the movie (after sleeping with her in her hotel room and walking her back to her table, he kisses her hand and walks away saying "Oh well, time to die." A great scene!!). You won't be disappointed seeing this film, and I suggest buying it for those nights when you need the spark ignited again in your heart for romance - no matter what your age.
