Its centerpiece is a five-disc DVD/CD carousel changer and integrated amplifier that delivers your DVD movies and music CDs with a powerful 400 watts--200 for the front left/right speakers, 100 for the subwoofer, and 33 watts each for the center channel and two surround speakers. Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround decoding immerse you in full, theater-like surround sound from movies, concert videos, and surround-sound music discs, while Pioneer's Advanced Theater Modes let you tailor the sound to the type of material you're watching. Aimed at enhancing multi-channel soundtracks, the Advanced Theater Modes consist of DSP processing that takes advantage of the discrete multi-channel information provided with Dolby Digital- and DTS-encoded soundtracks. Working in conjunction with the surround decoder, the programs' sound fields are enhanced based on the type of movie you're watching. Advanced Theater's three modes are musical (designed to expand the overall sound field), drama (designed to ensure absolute clarity of dialog), and action (which improves the vertical presence of the surround channels).
