Rating: Summary: Great product for the Price! Review: After reading several reviews I chose this model based on the price, customer reaction and the free shipping. Some users had commented on how difficult this unit is to set up. I found that to be quite incorrect. Not only does this system set up in a snap but you are provided with more than enough wiring for the Surround speakers and the L/R/C channels. The instructions are a bit brief if you have never installed audio equiptment before. Just follow the diagram and everything will work just fine. As far as the DVD playback, crisp clear and audio integrated with the receiver so that you do not lose one of the 3 audio inputs. How many people will have more than 3 input requirements when the DVD player and AM/FM tuner is already built in? My only complaint is that it is a single disc DVD because I own alot of box sets. *Note: this Home Theatre System will not shake the room, but for families who want to keep their hearing of people with small TV rooms this is a Great choice!!!
Rating: Summary: I Like It! Review: As a novice to the world of DVD, I was searching for something, checked BestBuy, KMart, Wal-Mart, wanted to take a "test drive" of the DVD movie THE HIRE by BMW. No luck, most places either had nothing I was interested in or they were far too expensive or not interested in assisting me. The price was right, and I especially enjoy both the FM and AM radio reception. The remote control does have too many and too small buttons, has been difficult for me to figure out, but when I do it right everything is great. I still keep the users' manual close by. Getting up to change disks from one to another is a pain sometimes, but I need more exercise. I cannot imagine how that new system Bose is flashing on my screen can be worth over ten times what I paid for the Koss.

Rating: Summary: Not bad, but save your money. Review: Definitely not worth 200-300 bucks if you ask me. The dvd player is poor quality (FF and Rewind make scratching noises and barely work), the surround effects on the receiver are weak, the speakers are really cheaply made. If it breaks, you have nobody to turn to. Mine is experiencing stereo problems after owning for 1 year. I have lots of home stereo experience and I can tell you these problems are with the unit itself and not with my wiring configuration or even the speakers themselves. Because I can't talk to anyone or even ship my unit in for repair, I'm stuck with a faulty unit, and I've essentially thrown $300 down the toilet. Stick with brands that have better support, ie Sony, Aiwa, and the like.
Rating: Summary: perfect starter system Review: DVD's look amazing on this system when using the S-Vidio. The speakers are perfect for someone who wants a starter system and is willing to build on it. The downside is the remote that is too confussing. It has too many buttons and bad instructions. The fact that it only plays one disk is hard because are using it for our CD player and find it annoying to have to be changing the disk so much Overall it is a good buy and a great price.

Rating: Summary: Koss Home Theater System Review: Fairly good sound but what a complicated operating system! Someone ought to re-write the instruction book and re-design the on-screen system. I've never been able to get it to work properly even with a video-s cable. Tapes from the VHS only show in black and white. I'd look at other systems before buying this one.
Rating: Summary: Good Home Theatre System for Apartments or Small Spaces Review: I bought this Home Theater System about a year and a half ago (and unbelievably, it hasn't gone down in price!). It's a great system for city folk who don't have a lot of space but want a versatile system with expandability. The DVD playback is excellent, though it only plays one disc at a time - so there's the potential annoyance of getting up to change discs when necessary. It has 3 auxiliary A/V inputs that allow you to make connections to your TV, stereo, etc. I actually have it connected to the soundcard on my PC, which allows me to play Internet Radio through the Home Theater system! There are a few drawbacks - the speakers are a little on the flimsy side, and there's an occasional whirring feedback noise at low volumes when using it with a connected auxiliary device (thankfully, this doesn't happen in DVD mode). Though the surround sound is rich, it loses something at lower volumes - so you couldn't really use this to play intense-sounding movies at late hours if you've got neighbors. The manual is a bit inconsistent with the actual procedures that need to be followed in order to properly set up the system - it will make reference to the SETUP button, when what you really need to press is MENU, etc. You'll also need to keep the manual close by, since some of the features and configuration options are a bit complicated. Another minor oddity is the clock - it runs really fast and is about 5 min. ahead of real time after about 2 months. By far the most serious drawback is the remote. It's flimsy - the remote on my 14" TV/DVD combo is much better than the remote for this system. And the buttons can be tempermental - they are small and need to be pressed in a certain way that I haven't yet consistently figured out. Overall, however, I'd say that in this price class, it brings you close to the quality and features of systems costing hundreds of dollars more and is thus a great value - despite a few significant drawbacks.

Rating: Summary: It's been a major disappointment... Review: I bought this Koss system as their headphones have been some of the best but this system theater system is a giant leap downward. Major complaint: it simply won't play a dvd unless it is in pristine condition. About half the DVD's we rent won't play all the way through. Second complaint: the remote is not intuitive and thus very confusing. Now I've got to buy a 2nd DVD player so I can watch videos. Look elsewhere!
