Summary: Funny and Romantic
Review: This surprising little gem was still on the shelf at my local video store. We picked it out with several others to watch over the weekend and we ended up watching it at least 4 times. We probably would have watched it again if we didn't have to return it.Hav Plenty is the true story of the charming lead actor/writer, Lee Plenty, and his lady love, Haviland Savage. The movie is funny, romantic, and intelligent. A surprise ending leaves you wanting more.

Summary: Havplenty is the Best
Review: I'd just like to congrdulate Christopher Cherot on this film. For the first time in a long time black people have the opportunity see themselves in a positive way without over doing it. I thought that the film had a great plot as well as realistic characters. I loved every actor in the film. I've seen it so many times I feel as though I know them personally. When I first rented the film I didn't have any idea whatso ever as to what the film would be about, but after watching it for seven times in a row, all I can say is "True Love". HavPlenty is by far one of my favorite films of all time to watch.

Summary: I LOVED THIS MOVIE
Review: I want to marry Christopher Scott Cherot.His acting and this script made the movie. I'm surprised that Hav didn't come around sooner, but then that's always the case with us girls. We never knoe what we really want until it's almost too late.

Summary: Okay film, bad ending
Review: Without giving away too much of the film, I must say that I didn't like the ending. "Hav Plenty" was much better than the word-of-mouth from my friends would have indicated but I can understand being disappointed after seeing it in the theater. It's a much better video rental. I am clueless by one thing -- why was Lee so gone over Hav (aside from her looks)? Was there a side of her that we didn't see in the movie? She treated him horribly. One, I didn't think it was very realistic that the average man would accept that treatment for love or money! Two, her treatment made it hard to believe that she felt anything close to love for him. Overall the acting was good, an excellent premise, but the ending was far from satisfying.

Review: I rented this movie once and have gone back several times to see it since. It is well written, well acted and funny. I definitely recommend this one.

Review: "Plink...I think you dropped something" This movie had me laughing so hard I was in tears. Never have I rewound and rewound a movie to watch scenes over and over again as this one. Spectacular acting and a wonderful plot I love this movie. I keep watching it over and over again and each time it gets better I can't wait to buy it so I can watch it again and again and again.

Summary: Unexpected, entertaining, hilarioius and fresh
Review: I didn't know what to expect when I rented this movie, from the public library of all places. I laughed so hard that tears were rolling down my eyes. Chris Cherot's wit is sharp and on target. Although I am considerably older than the characters (twenty-somethings), it brought me back to my post-college days when we played romance as if it were a game and it hurt so much that you had to laugh all of the time just to keep from crying. This movie makes the point that it is hard to admit you love someone when you are almost positive that it won't be reciprocated and it does it with great intelligence and humor.

Summary: Get busy and get this movie for your private collection!
Review: Because this film is based on a true story, it will make you appreciate the humor even more. How many women do we know that are looking for Mr. Right (who is right under our noses) and act all flaky because he is going through a rough time? It might make you re-think the meaning of love. Cherot has MUCH potential and I can't wait to see what's next on his agenda. I was glad to see a showcase of the up and coming talent.

Summary: A film with intelligent dialog and natural humor...
Review: Like some others, I had passed over this movie due to reviews, but was lucky enough to catch it on cable. (We have to remember who the reviews are written by ...) I enjoyed it mostly because it shows us the difference between "Booty Call" cheap humor and humor through intelligent dialog. It was silly when silliness was called for; but never sunk to the brainless level of "Booty Call." Also, I loved to see the new faces. I love Samuel L. and Angela Bassett too, but there are thousands of attractive and talented Black actresses and actors who need to be seen. This film definitely showcases some of them...
