Summary: Disappointing.
Review: This movie pretty much follows the same pattern as "There Is Something about Mary". We've seen it before and we've seen it much better. The attempt to keep it within PG-13 bounds probably hurt, as well. Once you get into R territory, all bets are off, and perhaps then this movie could have gone all out. The supporting cast is the best thing about the movie. Alec Baldwin and Phillip Seymour Hoffman bring the best parts for this movie. This movie isn't as good as "There Is Something about Mary", not even close. I'd almost put this film into the "chick flick" genre, but it's not bad enough to do this. Although it follows the usual pattern (guy meets girl, they get into a fight, they make up again, the end). Anyway, if your a fan of Jennifer Aniston, you will appreciate this movie (i guarantee). If you want some good laughs without too much thinking, get this, or better, "There is Something about Mary".

Summary: Along Came What?!
Review: This movie really looked good. I thought it was going to be great, but during the movie I was trying to hard to actually like it. The movie has Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston as the two main stars, and it has Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Alec Baldwin, Debra Messing, and Hank Azaria as the co-stars. But the main problem with this movie is that I was liking the co-stars better then I was liking the main characters. I like to root for the hero when I see movies, and not the supporting cast. I thought that Phlipe Seymour Hoffman was just great, but then again, when is he not? 25th Hour, Almost Famous, Punch Drunk Love. He was great in all of those. This movie had Ben Stiller playing Rueben Feffer. He is a risk analyist for an insurance company. He always makes the right choices and he thinks that he is going to be perfect by marrying his real estate agent Lisa Kramer. The wedding goes off without a hitch, but the problem comes during the honeymoon. Rueben surprises Lisa with the news that he bought them a new house, but then they meet Claude, a French scuba instructor. Lisa goes with his and then has an affair. Dejected Reuben returns home and gets a new job from his boss Stan. Stan has him see wheather risk taker Leland Van Lew has a good chance of dying or not, so they could insure him. Reuben decides to bury himself into work, but his actor best friend Sandy thinks that he should start dating right away. He says no but when they go to a party, Reuben meets an old classmate of his from middle school, Polly Prince. They begin going to places together, an are very different from one another, but they are attracted to one another. From that point one, Reuben tries to figure out wheather he should be safer and return to Lisa who has returned and is begging for him to forgive her, or to take a chance and get together with Polly, who he really loves. "Along Came Polly," was an ok movie, but I was really expecting much more. When I go to movie, it is pretty easy to satisfy me. Mostly with comedies. As long as I could laugh about five times, and give me a satisfying ending I would consider it a good movie. "Along Came Polly," made me laugh a little bit, but it wasn't enough for me to give it more than a three star review rating. Ben Stiller didn't lose his comedic abilities, but I have seen better. Remember, "Meet the Parents," and "Zoolander," and "The Royal Tenenbaums." All three were better than "Along Came Polly." See it for the supporting cast and not for Ben Stiller and Jennifur Aniston, who also have no chemistry. It's a good movie, but it could have been much better. ENJOY! Rated PG-13 for sexual content, language, crude humor and some drug references.

Summary: This movie sharted!
Review: This movie was a complete waste of my time. There were some funny scenes but I never bought Polly being attracted to Reuben. The funniest scene was the basketball pickup game, with the hairy guy sweating all over Reuben's face, and Philip Seymour Hoffman saying "I sharted" and then walked away funny. I liked Jennifer Aniston, too. I agree with my other half that she reminded me very much of Ellen in her early days. Hank Azaria looks great & has a great rear end, but Along Came Polly is just too stupid most of the time. Skip it.

Summary: what its like to be romantic male in America
Review: This was a different movie then I expected. From what I saw in the reviews I expected this to be sort of a raunchy comedy along the lines of the American Pie series. Actually the film is not raunchy, but it was a disturbing. Ben Stiller plays your average romantic American male trying to find love in a world that is far from a fairy tale. I and many other men trying to find real love in America, but having no luck can relate to this film. Ben Stillers character is a pathetic romantic who only wants to find the right girl and live happily ever after. After his marriage is on the rocks(a bit of a understatement), he meets Jennifer Aniston who plays polly. Polly has been through her share of bad relationships and has sworn off marriage, which is bad news for the pathetic romantic played by Stiller. The film about 2 hours runs a little longer then it should, but overall its worth seeing this film, just don't go with super high expectations. acting=3.5 stars

Review: This was a fun movie. So what if it has a lot of bathroom humor bathroom humor is funny!! And NO! its not immature to laugh at it!I loved the part when his friend told what 'sharted' was. ~ha!! Good movie. Good love story opposites really attract!

Review: This was a horrible movie and after a while, I just couldn't force myself to watch anymore. Unconvincing acting, weak story line and worst of all, unending junior-high humor, prominently featuring bodily functions. Not worth the time or the money to watch.

Review: This was the cutest movie ever! Jennifer Aniston played a totally relateable Polly, and this is the first movie with Ben Stiller in it that I've actually liked. They are a perfect duo with amazing chemistry. Some definite laughs and great romantic comedy.

Summary: Along Came Polly..
Review: Though it's received mixed reviews, I decided to go and check it out yesterday. Maybe I'm not as picky as some people, but I found this movie highly enjoyable with a lot of good laughs. Of course, the overly-used bathroom gag was unneccessary, but I found myself laughing anyway. Ben and Aniston worked nicely together, and, while the movie is predictable, I enjoyed all of it. You should check it out if you are going for fun and aren't going to be analyzing everything about it.

Summary: Decent Romantic Comedy
Review: While there isn't much new about this movie, Along Came Polly was still a fun romantic comedy and I really enjoyed it. It's light-hearted and cute, not meant to be a thought-provoking drama or Oscar picture. For what it's worth, I thought it accomplished what it set out to do - make you laugh. The basic idea of the story is Reuben Feffer (Ben Stiller) is an uptight risk-analyst who marries a beautiful real-estate agent named Lisa (Debra Messing). On the first day of their honeymoon, he catches her sleeping with the scuba instructor (played by the hilarious Hank Azaria of the Simpsons). He goes home in despair and mopes around until his best friend, Sandy (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) - who was a child star in one 80's flick and now is getting ready to do a community theater version of Jesus Christ Superstar - encourages him to go to a wacky art opening/party where he meets Polly (Jennifer Aniston). Polly is different than the women Reuben normally goes for - she is a free-spirit who loves spicy food (which is bad for Reuben who has Irritable Bowel Syndrome), has a pet ferret and hates commitment. The two seem as if they're total opposites, but they're attracted to each other and decide to have fun and see what happens. The two of them have decent on-screen chemistry, and a lot of the scenes are truly funny. There is some obnoxious potty humor in this movie though, which I was disappointed to see. How many times is it funny to watch someone sit on a toilet and fart? Then of course there is no toilet paper. And of course the toilet backs up. And in another scene, it's just so funny (not!) to see Reuben standing next to his boss (Alec Baldwin) at a urinal and have the boss fart, wave his member around, touch Reuben on the ear and slap him on the rear. Honestly, I think most of the actors in this film are above the lame potty humor and was disappointed to see several scenes like that. Many audience members laughed, so maybe it was just me. Besides that one complaint, I thought it was a funny movie and I did enjoy most of it. I am only giving it 4 stars, because it lacked originality and because of the potty humor. I still recommend seeing it, it was enjoyable and fun - just don't take it too seriously!

Summary: TYPICAL BY-THE-BOOK ROMANTIC "COMEDY"
Review: Wow...I really can't believe the glowing reviews for this flick. It's gotta be the movie studio folks, because this movie is nowhere near this superb or delightful. "ALONG CAME POLLY" is your typical romantic comedy, so bland and predictable. Yes, there are a couple of laugh-out-loud moments, but the rest of the movie simply plods along its cookie-cutter script. Ben Stiller plays his usual awkward self, Jennifer Aniston is pretty and has a nice screen presence but doesn't stretch her acting chops on this one, an incredibly buffed Hank Azaria is passable (though the outrageously fake French accent has to go) and Debra Messing reprises her "Will & Grace" persona in a different setting. I must agree with the other reviewers, however, that the ferret does indeed steal the show and deserved to get MUCH more screen time than it did. A host of B-grade stars in cameos make for some interesting viewing, but don't add much to the mix. Being that this is a Ben Stiller movie, there's the usual plethora of crude bodily function gags with A LOT of emphasis on flatulence. Very juvenile. Do yourself a favor and see another film. Typical Hollywood fluff: all style, no substance.
