Summary: Amazing
Review: This was one of the best movies I have ever seen! It was funny, it was crazy and it was completely like my life story (and many other girls I'm sure).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Must see for twenty-something single women!
Review: This movie is phenomenal. It speaks the truth that women think but don't dare to say in front of men. I've never seen a movie like it. It does get a little hokey at times, but it is a Cameron Diaz comedy after all. Seriously one of my favorite flicks of all time and a must see for those 21-29 year old single ladies out there.

Summary: The Sweeeeeeeeetest Thing
Review: Ok the first time i saw this movie i laughed a couple times but thought it was horrible, i then heard my best friend that goes to school in another state watched it like everyday so i gave it another shot and its actually quite funny, i musta been in a...mood when i watched it the first time, chick flick or not by category, this movie is a laugh.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Perfect fodder for its intended audience.
Review: As this movie clearly demonstrates, the difference between male-oriented sex fare and female-oriented sex fare is that the latter hypocritically hides behind a fraudulent veneer of romantic "sweetness," thus absolving its dim-witted female
viewers of the shallow, adolescent sex-romping they are pretending not to be engaged in. The women who watch this stuff will no doubt be entertained. If, on the other hand, your stomach turns somersaults at the very idea of Sex and the City, then run in the opposite direction.

Summary: Watch this Movie and FEEL the Brain Cells Exiting Your Brain
Review: I got this movie on a whim one night, thinking..hey, this could be fun. I could use a nice, funny chick-flick to finish off my evening. How wrong I was. It wasn't nice, and it wasn't funny, and it wasn't a chick-flick, it was what a MALE director thought that a chick-flick should be. There are really so many things wrong with this movie that I could never fit it in this review panel. Just beware, that if you DO rent or (GASP IN HORROR) BUY this movie, be prepared for a song and dance number about male genitalia, a woman getting some action from a huge stuffed elephant, and a horrifyingly embarrasing scene involving a piercing, someone getting stuck on the piercing, and an Aerosmith song getting a bad rep. I couldn't believe I watched this whole movie, I felt so dirty afterwards I wanted to take a bath. It really is that bad.

Summary: I wish I could give it Zero Stars
Review: This movie was not funny, it was just crude and disgusting. These girls are good actors. I wish they would choose better material.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Campy, Raunchy but not Funny
Review: Not for the prudish. Those who are not easily turned off will find some funny moments, but they are way too forced. A great "size" moment at lunch (which was a great play off the deli "orgasm" in When Harry Met Sally) was hilarious, until it went on for five minutes.
The promise is a great movie in the Something About Mary tradition, but the humor never quite delivers.

There are too many better choices to suffer this.

Summary: Some good scenes, but surprisingly bland and old.
Review: Cameron Diaz plays a woman always in control of men. She keeps them on a string, and at a distance, because she's afraid to be vulnerable and commit. But deep down she's desperate for "the real thing" and finally pursues the one man she thinks is it.

Considering the talent invovled, this was a surprisingly bland, shallow, and unfunny film. Yes, there were some funny scenes, but even those were old. The "female buddy drive" in which Diaz and Christine Applegate drive in search of Diaz's guy reminded me of the "female buddy drive" in ROMY AND MICHELLE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION.

The film even seems aware of its old jokes. At one point Applegate self-consciously asks, "Do we have time for a movie montage?" Diaz answers: "There's always time for a movie montage." Then we get a montage of them in various outfits, parodying Madonna, PRETTY WOMAN, FLASHDANCE and other very old 1980s icons. (Ha ha).

Diaz plays the same character type she created in SOMETHING ABOUT MARY -- a woman that men are constantly falling in love with. It's becoming her cliche character.

The bulk of the budget seems to have been spent on Diaz. The rest of the cast are either B-list or barely used. The always excellent Parker Posey has under 5 minutes of screen time in a wedding scene. Probably no budget to hire her for longer than a week. I didn't recongize the "male lead."

The film is really short -- about an hour and 15 minutes of movie, with close to 10 minutes of credits (which are stretched out by "funny" outtakes and bloopers at the end).

The flimsy story is just an excuse for "wry & funny comments" about relationships, but it's all been done before. ROMY AND MICHELLE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION was a much better, more original and funnier, female buddy film. THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY displayed the same Diaz character, and was funnier and fresher. And if you want to see Parker Posey in a wedding scene -- get HENRY FOOL, one of Hal Hartley's brilliant works.

Everthing about this film is old and rehashed: 1990s relationship comments, 1980s parodies, bloopers and outtakes, and Diaz's main character. This film was old before it was even released.

Summary: alotta naughty fun
Review: this movie was so much fun to watch with a couple girls! it was about girlfriends and the quirky things that they go through together without being a sappy chick-flick. the story follows the main character, diaz, as she pitches her cautions to the wind and "stalks" a young man she believes might be "the one" all the way across the state. it's funny, fun, and definitely "the sweetest thing." girls will love it automatically because of the hilarious scene to scene action, and guys will love it for the hot bootay displayed lovingly in very trendy (and sometimes without any at all) clothing. anyone who doesn't give this movie five stars has no personality and the wrong kind of humor. the end.
