Summary: One of the best movies I have ever seen
Review: That romantic comedy is great. It is one of the most heart-warming films I have ever seen. The cast is perfect. Cuba Gooding Jr. made a excellent performance but Renee Zellweger is the one who stole the show. She's absolutely great. Her sweetnes and warmth are unbelievable. The only minus is lack of any special features. It is very dissapointing.

Summary: Same old Cruise character - Show me the ending!
Review: How many movies will Tom Cruise's character be down and out, and then to our suprise come back to win it all in the end? Try something new! This movie was boring. Cuba Gooding was good as always. The plot started off well with the whole ruthless agent thing and then went right down the toilet. I bet lots of middle aged couples with bratty little kids enjoyed this but I did not.

Summary: A warm smile
Review: Well, it happens sometimes. Once in a while you just can't help smiling (or cringing) with your on screen persona... Jerry Maguire is the kind of movie you sort of feel better for having watched. The kind you walk out of the theatre with that half smile one your face, and you and your movie buddies are a just a bit nicer to each other for that period in time. Ladies you aren't quite understanding if you watch this movie (or its kind) with a guy friend, and walk out thinking that he didn't like it. Guys love this kind of movie just like you do. The sometimes saccharine antics don't ever stop this from becoming the kind of movie that keeps us grinning for a while. Yeah Tom Cruise is good in this, yeah he shows us why he's up on that silver screen in the first place. But for me... Renee.. Ms. Zellweger happens to be one of those people who you alway end up finishing their smiles and laughing their laughs... her lopsided grins are your bread and butter during the movie. Tom Cruise may be the man, but Renee is our woman, and in fact is all of our woman... something some of you haven't realized. All this talk of breats implants and so forth may sometimes score with teenage boys, but as for the rest of us... I love Renee.

Summary: You'll want to see it again and again
Review: A very good romantic comedy with an excellent cast. Tom Cruise plays Jerry Maguire, a sports agent who finds himself as well as the meanings of love and loyalty. He walks out on his job, has only one colleague (Renee Zellweger) by his side and has one energetic client (Cuba Gooding Jr.) to work for. Well you'll have to watch the film to see what happens. Also stars Regina King and Bonnie Hunt. Notable for the "Show me the money!" line. With good performances all around this is a good film, the dialogue can be raunchy, but that's about all. Besides a quick glimpse of Cuba Gooding Jr. in the buff in the locker room scene, there's no nudity. Not a film for the kids, but older teenagers and adults will surely enjoy it.

Summary: YOU HAD ME AT HELLO
Review: The first time I saw this movie, I had heard all the hype. I heard how great it supposedly was, and I actually believed some of that hype. I watched it intently but never quite figured out what made it so bloody great. Yeah, it was good, the story was nice, and the performances were mint. However this movie was one of the sort that I just had to see twice to fully appreciate. And appreciate it I did. I suddenly saw how close to real life the characters' interactions were. I saw a beautiful relationship between single mother and little son, and indeed between single mother and her older and protective sister. I saw a shallow, hollow guy (Cruise) become a whole person (not without a lot of ups and downs and bumps in the road). I saw a lovely relationship between Cuba Gooding Jr.'s character and his wife. I saw greed at its worst and of course, in the happy ending, I saw personal connections and commitments overcome some of the effects of greed. Described this way, the film sounds almost too sappy, but it isn't. The story is quite subtle and very realistic. Tom Cruise turns in a splendid performance as the title character; Renée Zellweger was the perfect actress for the part of Dorothy Boyd because she is beautiful but not too beautiful and possesses a charming and unspoiled quality that was perfect for the character and for the tone of the picture. Gooding, Jr. was excellent and his work in a supporting role was honored with an Academy Award. I think this film will satisfy any longing for a real but not depressing film about the nature of love, commitment, relationships, and simple human interaction.

Summary: Show Me The Movie
Review: After 1992's relatively disappointing Singles, Cameron Crowe comes back strong with Jerry Maguire. The film is a romantic comedy with the underpinning of how ethics and values are treated in today's society. Tom Cruise stars as the title character who is a highly successful sports agent. After a night of heavy drinking, he types up a mission statement that is a little too much for his firm. He becomes a pariah in the company and eventually his one time protegee (Jay Mohr) tells him he's been fired. Jerry loses all of his clients except one Arizona Cardinals wide receiver, Rod (Cuba Gooding, Jr.). Renee Zellewiger is a worker at Jerry's firm and she is the only one who takes up his offer to leave with him for the agency he's starting up. She is in love with Jerry and will do anything for him. Eventually they fall in love and Jerry makes a big score for Rod. Mr. Cruise gain exudes all the boyish charm that has made him a superstar. Ms. Zellewiger has wholesome, girl next door looks and is sweet in her role. Mr. Gooding is a whirling dervish in his role. He is a ball of energy and the scene where he gets Jerry to shout "show me the money" became a major catch-phrase and part of the lexicon. Mr. Gooding won a well deserved Best Supporting Actor Oscar and the film cemented Mr. Crowe as the best double threat (directing & writing) in movies this side of Woody Allen.

Review: Jerry Maguire is a sweet romantic comedy about a sports agent who quits his job after he has a pang of conscious. He brings with him two things; one employee and one client. From this base Mr. Maguire is determined to build a business but he finds himself, instead, forming friendships with his clients and developing a romance with a young single mother, who is also his one employee. This movie has several parts, and all of them are good. It is an honest attack on ruthless sports agents. It is an advocacy piece for honest and fair business people. It is an "inside" look on sports, from a different point of view. But, mainly and mostly, it is a romance and a comedy. The interaction between Jerry Maguire and all of those around him has its bumps and tensions, but they work them out. The film has a happy ending, which made me happy too. This film was fun, this film was honest, this film was a treat to watch.

Review: We sat through this movie trying in vain to find the story. Aside from Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise there was nothing. Cruise's girlfriend in this flop made the movie, such as it was.

Review: I love this movie. The soundtrack is incredible. One question: Does anyone know at what point in the movie the song "Wise Up" by Aimee Mann is played? For the life of me, I can't find it!
