Summary: Standard Cruise formula
Review: Tom Cruise yet again plays the maverick who uses his crazy methods to overcome all. No shock there. It's done pretty well, though.

No "will he win the girl?" to make the relationship interesting. What idiot wouldn't fall totally in love with Zellwieger's character? Still, entertaining performances by Cuba Gooding Jr.'s character and his family keep this movie afloat. Kelly Preston does a good job as Jerry's vampy ex-girlfreind too.

Worth a look, but not what I'd call an instant classic.

Summary: Jerry Maguire "show me the money" is exactly what it got.
Review: Ok ive read most reviews here, and it seems like 70% of people agree its the best movie they have ever seen and the other 30% dont agree. These 30% are maybe a little if not very insecure about expressing their feelings which is what this movIe brings out and i think that the 30% only use abuse as a self defense mechanism for feeling good from a movie, and its a rare occasion because Jerry Maguire only comes out once a lifetime.

Great acting, but all were suited for this one i mean they didnt really act each part given to each actor was their personality anyway, and thats what makes this a masterpiece.

the only thing that can be watched over and over again besides The Matrix and the Simpsons

Summary: Original
Review: There is something really different with the movie. It's banter is orginal. I haven't heard of dialogue like this before, especially in the beginning. Great script. Tom Cruise is Jerry Maguire. Renee Zellweger was just as good.

Summary: Disgusting
Review: Has Hollywood no sence of decency? Hiring an 8-year-old boy to do nothing except utter a couple of sentences, say "F**k you" to the camera, and then make an obscence gesture at the camera? What's next...hiring kids to star in porno movies? It's a shame because this sequence spoiled what was otherwise a superb movie.

Summary: A future classic.
Review: This movie is one of the most well made movies of the past ten years; perhaps ever. Each and every scene is well crafted and real; alternatively subtle then poweful (and sometimes both). Unlike most modern movies, you never find yourself saying "no one would say that" or "no one would do that" in any scene, with each sequence carefully crafted and real (although like life, not always happy or exciting) and placed in exactly the right order. And there are no logical gaps because the director was willing to make a romatic comedy that was deeper than a Three's Company episode. Yet despite the ovewhelming reality that permeates the movie, Cameron Crowe still permits us to use the movie to escape to a different world (the reason we go to movies in the first place) in much the way that Hepburn and Tracy enabled us to escape for two hours in years gone by. It is hard to do both of these at the same time in 1999 and the sports sub-plot helps that a lot here. The movie ambitiously emphasizes script and characther development at the risk of losing watchers through transitional, character-building scenes with no obvious (at the point you are watching them) pay-off. So few movies or shows are willing to invest screen time in character or plot development in this video-game inspired world (the Sopranos being a recent TV example of such ambitious writing). But Cameron Crowe knows that the pay-off at the end is so much better for the viewer if we know these characters and care what happens to them. And he is right. Much like Its a Wonderful Life, the ending is then powerful and real because of what we have experienced with these characters and not contrived and unbelievable as is usually the case. It is surprising that a studio allowed the movie to be made in this fashion (you expect 1 hr and 30 min. sit com with more sex and a few explosions), and even more surprising that such an ambitious movie is as popular as it is with the movie going public. This movie is a rare find and has the mark of a true classic, it gets better with each watching. Bravo.

Summary: Not a film worth spending money on...disappointing
Review: When I saw Jerry Maguire, I was in a word, disappointed. The plot was weak and, as were the characters. The one positive part of the movie was the comic relief provided by the little boy.

Summary: Nothing but a chick flick.
Review: This is the most overrated movie ever. Glorified soap opera with a few sports stars to make it easier to convince the men to be dragged to this stupid, sappy idiotic piece of garbage ever to be put on film. Made me wanna barf. Buyer BEWARE!

Summary: A great movie
Review: This is one of the greatest movies of the 1990's and definetly Tom Cruise's best acting yet. Renee Zellwager as Dorothy Boyd couldn't have asked for a better film to make her big break in. She is outstanding in this Romantic Comedy. The movie has a great plot, although it did seem to drag on a little at certain parts. It's incredible to get to go on this journey with Jerry Maguire as he learns that there is more to life than money. This is a great movie all around.

Summary: Great film!!! We loved the little boy!!
Review: My husband and I loved this movie! The cast was perfect and the little boy that played 'Ray' was so precious!!! We talk about the human head weighing 8 lbs. alot and we pick on each other about the "you said f--k" part. (That was so funny!!!)
