Summary: One of Woody's most hilarious films
Review: I recently purchased "play it again, sam" here at amazon and as soon as I saw it I started laughing. In this film Woody plays a man who just got a divorce from his wife and is trying to bounce back and pick up new girls . However , his peculiar mannerisms and foolish mistakes dont make him out to be the most atractive man in the world. His performance along with Diane Keaton make this film a truly pleasant one to watch. The film is both funny and sweet in a certain way , I recomend this movie to all movie lovers (even if you're not a Woody Allen film lover).

Summary: Slapstick Woody
Review: I think this movie represents the height of Woody's slapstick period. It also contains perhaps the funniest five minutes ever put on film (meeting the blind date). Diane Keaton and Tony Roberts are solid as always and the Woodman is forever the comic genius. His timing is impecable, the dialogue is instantly quotable. It's just great to see a master at the height of his comedic powers. I certainly think that some of his later works are "better movies", but I don't think any of them are as funny.

Summary: A Treat For Woody Fans: subtle and funny as hell
Review: I'm currently at 516-674-7077 and will be going to 516-759-8010.

And so it goes as one of the funniest sub plots in another of Woody's "trying to score" themed films, (come to think of it, aren't they all...)this time with the big B, (Humphry Bogart) providing the guidence.

This is a really fine, fine film, and one scene in his apartment when meeting his blind date can almost hurt......

Everyone knows that Woody Allen is one of the best and most original American Film directors of our generation, and will be one of those guys like Bob "trust in America" Hope who is so big, they have to be given a special Academy Award because the folks around him just can't deal with his true stature.....

Fortunately for us, we have his work, and laughter will always be the best medicine, and the best compliment to his brilliance

*Note, there was a scene in the theatical release of one of his films with Woody watching the Zapruder Film and stating that JFK was clearly shot from the front...there ain't many people of his depth to do that. He will always have my respect for that single action. (Annie Hall)

Summary: Five stars -- no, four -- no, five!
Review: It's not perfect in the way Annie Hall was perfect (we were meant to believe in Alvy and Annie; these characters are sweet but never anything more than walking one-liners, which is nevertheless OK, because that was the goal), but it's one of the funniest movies ever made. The LP flying out of its sleeve, Allen blurting out, "I want to have your child," Allen taking his first drink (and not even swallowing before he collapses in a heap), that grunt he emits to his blind date, Bogart telling him which candles to buy at the supermarket -- I could go on and on. Classic lines! "You felt like a woman last night and I felt like a man, and that's what those kinds of people do." "That's a good terminal, I've thrown up there." "No, my parents never divorced. Although I begged them to."

But still, it's Woody Allen, and his rather aberrant view of women and sexuality is almost always edited out of local broadcasts nowadays. (Keaton saying that she probably couldn't bear being raped, "unless of course I was enjoying it"). But then, don't forget that even "Duck Soup" had Groucho uttering one unfortunate racist one-liner. Like I said, not perfect. But hilarious.

Summary: Good but no Annie Hall
Review: Over all this movie is well worth watching, but sad to say I saw Annie Hall before this movie and had high expectaions, not to say there wasnt funny moments in this movie, My favorite was where Allen was dreaming about kissing Diane keatons character and her yelling I'm a married woman, RAPE.... don't ask me why it was funny but it made me laugh. Another funny moment was when Allen(woody) was on a first date with a sex addicted woman and when allen jumps on her (after she's explained that people should have sex as often a possible) pushes him off and says "what do you take me for?"accually writing this review made me reconsiter ill give this one a 4

Don't forget this one!

As a fan of Woody Allen and "Casablanca", I can't believe it took me so long to see this movie. And I'm a total fan of it. A pre-Annie Hall teaming of Allen and Keaton, the story is about an insecure guy (big surprise) looking for love. For support, he calls on the help an imaginary Bogart, who supplies plenty of "tough guy" advice. The story has the many familiar Allen themes (love, marriage, and adultery) but it's really about learning to be comfortable in your own skin. The movie is funny, charming, and an absolute delight even if you're only a moderate Woody Allen fan.

Summary: One of his best
Review: Probably the best Woody Allen production pre Annie Hall, but like all his early films (and some latter) it is slightly uneven. The first hour is full of some of the funiest material and scenes he has produced. It is achingly funny, but things taper of a little after that and the ending meanders a little. All in all, first class Allen though
