Summary: Had Potential, But Ended Up Pretty Blah
Review: I was intrigued by Just Married based on one scene I saw in the trailer, where Ashton Kucher's character tries to plug an interesting US electrical device into a European outlet, causing much chaos to the hotel where he and his new bride (played by Brittany Murphy) were staying. I was intrigued because I did the exact same thing once when I went to Europe, taking out the electricity in my hotel room and incurring the wrath of the hotel staff. So the movie is authentic in that detail.

But otherwise, Just Married is just a drab, mostly unfunny comedy. I don't get Kucher's appeal as he isn't particularly funny and he's a mediocre actor at best. Brittany Murphy has some charm and most of the funny lines, but I have a feeling she must smoke a couple of packs of cigarettes a day as her voice is so raspy that it cuts in and out sometimes. She's got talent, but I think she may be better suited for dramatic work than comedy.

It's been a while since I watched a movie and been totally indifferent about it afterward, but that's about the best I can say about this movie.

Summary: Ashton and Brittany= hillarious
Review: This movie was weird...when I first started watching the movie I was a little confused but meh whatever the writers were thinking I would have prefered the storyline to be a bit different...this movie would have got a lower rating from me if it didnt have that one hillarious scene when Sarah and Tom are fighting and she throws the ashtray at him that was so funny..

Summary: Cute movie
Review: This was a really cute movie, with some laugh out loud parts. And normally I don't laugh out loud while watching movies.
The ending was a bit cheesy--okay, a lot cheesy, but it was definitely a fun show to watch. I would recommend it to anyone who likes chick flicks, or just wants a bit of a laugh.

Summary: Cute but not great
Review: Murphy and Kutcher are cute in this movie, but not great. The movie is not that funny, without any feel funny scenes that will stick out. Good for a lazy night with nothing better to do.

Summary: Entertaining and funny
Review: Despite Ashton Kutcher not being the greatest actor, he knows how to make us laugh. He gives the movie the added substance it needs. Britney Murphy, on the other hand, is a wonderful actress, yet she knows how to entertain the average household without it being Oscar worthy. The screenplay writers know how to deliver a unique comedy. However, some parts are repetative, but it still fits the storyline. If I tell you anything else specifacly, I'd be revealing the whole movie, and that will ruin it for all first time viewers.

Summary: Decent film and something we can relate to
Review: This film tells the same story we've seen before. A guy and girl meet randomly fall in love but wait they have to have a conflict and then make up and fall in love again. Often there is a family memeber who hates the to be son-in-law in these types of movies. This movie follows nothing different from the previous romantic comedies we've all seen.

But basically this movie does follow those forementioned themes. A guy and a girl fall in love but become unsure about their love as one disaster after another happens and it starts to become Honeymoon Hell as the two never have sex because of all the disasters mainly caused by Ashton. A former boyfriend keeps getting the in the way of Ashton and Murphy's honeymoon and bad things just keep happening to the goofy character that Ashton plays. This movie works because we so often see a mismatch in the characters that fall in love. There is no onscreen chemistry between the two characters and we see it so often and it makes the movie less enjoyable. However, this movie has two actors that look good together. A kind hearted Ashton who is a magnet for mischief with a fun and honest character that Britney plays. A few things make this movie work are: The good onscreen chemistry the actors create, the funny continuous string of bad luck that keeps happening to the two, Ashtons character so much fits his mischief type character as he often brings on the bad luck like a magnet. Britney is so honest that she cant seem to tell a lie and it seems to draw more funny events. Of course the ending is quite normal but the big climax to me was not the fact that Ashton tries to win her back after a horrible honeymoon but the fact that his father tells him to grow up and just because they had a bad honey moon and this isnt high school anymore when you have one fight you simply break up. Thats a message we can all take.

Summary: Cute and Funny
Review: Let's just face it, Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy make an adorable couple and have amazing on screen chemistry. This alone could make a wonderful movie, but this one is full of humor, romance, and, yes, Ashton Kutcher. Perhaps the reason it is not a 5-star film is that it has it's cheesy moments and a few dull ones, it was funny from the beggining, and the humor stops in just the right places.

Summary: Trying too hard
Review: Okay, let me begin by stating that romance is not my preferred genre, but I love a good comedy and even romantic comedy. With that said:

I found this movie boring and predictable. Most of the characters in this movie were very cliche. And it struck me that this movie was trying way too hard to get a laugh. The situations that were supposed to be funny were a little far fetched. I mean, I've lived in Europe and have plugged many 110 volt devices into 220 volt sockets and have yet destroyed an entire building's internal electrical wiring (maybe I've just been lucky).

I also had a problem watching Ashton Kutcher come close to being an average buy and not the idiot I've seen in "That 70's Show" or the "Dude, Where's My Car" preview (I haven't seen that movie). I think I spent half this movie watching him fluctuate from being normal to a complete moron in order to get the story into another bad situations. I just did not click with this character and I suspect that it is because I'm used to seeing him on TV.

I did, however, like the central message of this movie. That is, once you are married, you are going to have good times and you are going to have bad times. The good times are easy and the bad times fill in the gaps in between. You need to work through the ugly times if you wish to make a marriage succeed. This is a great message in these times when marriages are breaking up over the simplest of "irreconsilable differences." BRAVO!!!...

Summary: Cutesy and clichè
Review: "Just Married" is a painfully cheesy movie that's almost too lighthearted and cute. Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy play a Romeo and Juliet-esqe couple that has been repeated in so many movies, its sickening - he's the classic dorky sports fan and child of middle-income parents, and she's the daughter of some billionare whose profession we never learn. Her parents would have rather married her to the snobby Peter Prentice, a dull antagonist who is more of a roadblock then an actual character. Anyway, the cute couple get married and jet off to Europe where their lies to eachother and unbelievable circumstances (they are kicked out of a hotel after they ruin the circuit system by trying to plug in some kind of sex toy) hinder their enjoyment of the perfect honeymoon. The movie was worsened by bad jokes, boring characters, and clichè storylines. I think I considered laughing about once.

The terrible thing about this movie was how unbelievable everything was. Every character was able to pull a beautiful and heartwarming monologue out of thin air. Most of the speeches didn't even fit the character's personality, for instance, Kutcher's character gave at least two of these monologues, and each one was one of the best parts of the film's script. Too bad they came out sounding forced and awkward, since the character isn't supposed to be the brightest bulb in the box.

Finally, the characters were painfully underdeveloped. We don't know whether or not Murphy's character likes being rich, nor can we ever really discern whether she's a rich-girl ditz or an art-loving intellectual. We never find out what Murphy's father does, and although a good, strong father-son relationship is hinted at between Kutcher's character and his father, we never know for sure. Finally, an attractive blonde was constantly around Murphy's character...was she a sister? friend? cousin? It nagged me through the whole movie.

So, why not 1 star instead of 2? Well, Murphy and Kutcher proved to be excellent actors with amazing chemistry together. Murphy especially lit up the screen with her dazzling personality and cute, scratchy voice. Kutcher will be forever typecast as the dumb guy, but its a character that suits him well. I found them to be the only highlights of the movie.

Bottom line: This movie kept me awake. It was fast paced and mildly enjoyable, but lacked anything fresh or different. See it if you like teen chick fliks, not if your idea of a movie is one that will keep you thinking.

Summary: cute fun
Review: you will laugh your butt off with this film about a young couple who go to Europe on their honeymoon. Brittany Murphy is so likable and funny, she really makes this film enjoyable just with her presence.
