Summary: Enjoyable romance
Review: This is a well-written, well acted film that has a cute, somewhat predictable story, but makes you feel good anyway.

Never asked to act beyond her talents, Sandra Bullock (Lucy Kelson)is perfectly cast as a dedicated activist/lawyer, hired by rich, good-looking, Hugh Grant (George Wade). Not a employee/employer relationship made in heaven, but one based on a deal and a promise.

The chemistry is good, the script well written, no one else I can think of could have filled the role of George Wade like Hugh Grant. The smart and perfectly timed one-liners seemed to have been written for his delivery.

Great date film. Moves right along at an enjoyable pace. Nothing complicated. Just love, fun, and great casting.

Worth the price of the ticket for the pleasure and the laughs (which come often).

Summary: Same old, same old...
Review: This isn't the worst movie I've seen in a while, but then again, there's not really anything spectacular about it either.

Sandra Bullock portrays a young attorney out to save the world from corporate giants. In the midst of one of her protests, she runs into Hugh Grant, second in command to one of the great developers who is paving over Coney Island. In her efforts to save her beloved community center, Bullock joins Grant as Chief Counsel.

After enduring his never-ending demands, Bullock finally throws in the towel, but not before an interesting rivalry begins to develop with her successor. Grant renigs on his promise to save the community center and all appears doomed.

In the end, good prevails, and Bullock and Grant re-unite.

One of the better scenes in the movie is a party scene where the viewer is treated to the music of Norah Jones.

Not the best, but certainly not the worst they've ever done.

Summary: Great Movie!!
Review: This is a great movie. I strongly suggest that you take the 2 hours to go and see this movie. Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant work really well together to make this movie hillarious.

Summary: Romantic, funny and a fantastic lead
Review: You will love this. What else can you say about the wonderful Hugh Grant, and the amazing Sandra Bullock?

The story is about an affluent New Yorker (Grant), who depends so much on an employee (Bullock), who does not want to work for him.

The plot is not all that great, however the acting helps push the forward. And this flick goes at an amazing speed!

I won't say this film is wonderful and all, but trust me, I will recommend it.

Summary: Great Movie!
Review: I loved this movie. It was very sweet. George (Hugh) and Lucy (Sandra) were perfect for each other. I laughed a lot during Two Weeks Notice. This is the best romantic comedy I've seen since Sweet Home Alabama.

Summary: Sandra and Hugh Just Were Not On Target
Review: TWO WEEKS NOTICE was a cute film but missed the mark unlike its predecessor Maid In Manhattan which was more real and entertaining. Sandra Bullock (Miss Congeniality, Force Of Nature) produced this film as well as stars in it. Her performance although I am sure is honest seemed a little held back playing the Harvard Lawyer fighting for the down-and-under trod.

While the other side of the coin, there is the rich millionaire played by Hugh Grant (Nine Months, Notting Hill) was a more outgoing, non-caring and flamboyant wisp that almost didn't match to well with Sandra.

It ran a little slow and seemed much more predictable toward the end. Written and directed by Marc Lawrence (Miss Congeniality, Force Of Nature) the movie seemed very slow in pace. Robert Klein (Primary Colors, One Fine Day) gives a standout performance as Sandra's father that is worth noting.

This is a good movie for the video and DVD - but theatrically it was a little disappointing. (12-31-02)

Summary: Another interesting attempt for Sandra Bullock
Review: This is another romance comedy attempt of Sandra Bullock after Miss Congeniality. This time we have the "everlasting" Hugh Grant to co-star with Sandra in this love and hatred, boss and employee relationship movie. Sandra as a Harvard law grad with a law professor mother devoted her life to justice, helping the poor and preserving the community against the rage of large corporations. In an attempt to save the community centre, she accepted the offer of her dead enemy Hugh Grant's offer to help him as his consultant in return for preserving the community centre during the development of the area. The story kicks off from that, and there are lots of funny and minute details that can drive the audience laugh. Sandra's character is funny, though at times you can still find traces of the cop she played in Miss Congeniality (which is something she needs to pay attention to). Hugh Grant is surprisingly fit for the character as a nasty and self-centred boss, who finally realised what he needs is a bossy women to whom he could relied on. His lines were delivered with wit. The screeplay is well written with all the good killing gags that can tickle your heart. All the supporting characters are very good too, especially Sandra's parents in the movie, they are splendid. It is an entertaining and warm movie to spend time on, it can make you feel good for a while.

Summary: Cute, classic romantic comedy
Review: Two Weeks Notice is a classic romantic comedy that brings both Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant back to the genre they do best. The characters were enchanting and the chemistry between Bullock and Grant sparked. Some of the plot elements were a bit contrived, but the film had a good mix of witty dialogue and physical comedy. All in all, a delightful way to spend a few hours, especially during the often-stressful holiday season.

Summary: Hugh is a charmer
Review: Die-hard fans of Hugh Grant will enjoy this lightweight romantic comedy, but probably few others will. Grant plays billionaire businessman/playboy George and Sandra Bullock is his Greenpeace-loving attorney, Lucy. He breezes through life using people along the way, and when she gets fed up with being used, she quits and gives two weeks notice. They spend a lot of time together in those two weeks and (of course) fall madly in love.

Yeah, right. Grant plays the same adorable, eyelash-fluttering character he always plays. He's very convincing as the oft-married spoiled brat who can't commit to anyone, even if he is noticeably getting older. (I thought he could play James Bond quite well.) Bullock never convinced me she was a Harvard grad or a lawyer. She seems to equate lack of make-up and scowling with liberalism and environmentalism, and generally looks unattractive and angry most of the time. I think her part could have been played better by Julia Roberts.

The problem with this film is that neither George or Lucy change during the story. At the end, George is still an immature, shallow girl-chaser and Lucy is still more interested in causes than relationships. There is no reason for them to have fallen in love and certainly no reason to think they'll stay together. Neither professes an all-consuming need for the other, and lacking that, the ending is just silly.

I liked watching Hugh Grant do what he does best, but the film was too predictable and too long. The location photography in New York City added energy to a sagging script. Bottom line: if you love Hugh, you'll like the movie.

Summary: A Fun Romantic Comedy For Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant Fans
Review: This is a throughly enjoyable, light as air movie that you should go to see when you just want to relax, smile a lot and spend some time watching Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock have fun. No serious message, no real surprise twists and turns; but despite being totally formulaic it was a traet and we and the rest of the audience were often laughing out loud.

Sandra Bullock is Lucy, a dedicated environmental lawyer following in the "do good save the world" footsteps of her parents. Hugh Grant is the rich shallow playboy developer whose project she wants to halt. He shocks her by offering to hire her; they strike a deal to save her beloved Coney Island neighborhood center from the wrecker's ball in return for her becoming his counsel. Of course, she soon becomes his indispensable aide, eventually becomes disillusioned, and gives her TWO WEEKS NOTICE. Her relacement invokes jealousy in Lucy, the community center is about to be demolished due to George's brother's (and partner) efforts to make their project profitable after cost overruns, and Lucy heads back to her former life in her parent's cramped apartment.

Of course, what the moviegoers have always known is by now dawning on George and Lucy. Namely, they may be as different as day and night but will be miserable without each other. And, so, in the tradition of such feel good films, George overwhelms Lucy with the grand romantic gesture and after some initial confusion and ambilavence she eventually overcomes her doubts and recognizes her true feelings for him.

The pace is right, the jokes mostly work, and the supporting cast is more than adequate. So, go see this when you are in the mood for fun rather than adventure, drama, tension, action or deep meaning. It is about on par from the usual work of Bullock and Grant, but if you are a dedicated fan of either don't expect it to measure up to their best work; the material just isn't stong enough.
