Summary: Absolutely Wonderful
Review: I loved this movie and thought it was truely the best romantic movie I have seen in a long time. It is perfect for a rainy day in the house curled up on your couch. Everyone should get the chance to see this movie.

Summary: Julia Ormond shines in role played by Hepburn!
Review: Being a huge Audrey Hepburn fan, I NEVER thought I would find the remake as entertaining as the original. But was I ever wrong!

Julia Ormond's transformation to the luminously beautiful "woman of the world" Sabrina, is every bit as believable as Hepburn's earlier transformation. Ormond's chemistry with Harrison Ford is far more believable and charming, as Linus tries to distract Sabrina from her obsessive fascination with his younger brother, David, now engaged to the daughter of a business associate.

Harrison Ford gives his portrayal of Linus the needed humanity that Bogart's portrayal lacked. Linus, in Ford's capable hands, revealed the weight of being the older, more responsible brother, in whom the family fortune rested. Yet, Linus yearned to fall in love, and until Sabrina's return from Paris, and their mock courtship, he didn't believe it could ever happen. I really believed he was falling in love with Ormond's Sabrina.

Ford's Linus seemed genuinely heartbroken when he admitted the truth about the Paris trip to Sabrina. He watched with dismay, as her heart broke, to realize he'd been playing her for a fool during their romance. That's why their reunion in Paris, at the end, was so satisfying!

Greg Kinear's David was also more humane and less calculating, than William Holden's in the original version. I felt David's anger at his brother's deceptive romance of Sabrina. And so his punching Linus was a more realistic response.

I highly recommend this movie to all romantics! It also makes a great date film. A great update of an earlier classic, this film may well become a classic in its own right.

Summary: What's wrong with you people?
Review: I don't care what anyone says; there's no need to compare 1995's SABRINA to the Audrey Hepburn classic. This one, in my opinion, is far superior than the original. By default, film as an artform has evolved and matured far beyond where it was almost half a century ago. Unless the original was of undebatable achievement in every aspect, from technical to artistic(which the original SABRINA wasn't), the remake will usually be more refined due to the natural evolution of film making technique and sensibility. Side by side, the 1995 SABRINA is more clever in dialogue, plot, and filming. Let's not even get into how the Hepburn version is better simply because it's OLD, or a legendary actress was in it; who's to say 1995's SABRINA won't become a classic and Julia Ormond won't become a legendary actress? (Well, I think all Julia fans would agree that she's ALREADY legendary, from her debut, and throughout every single effort she's made.)On top of that, Harrison and Greg made much more charming and convincing Linus and David than the original cast. Another touch that made it better was changing Sabrina's Paris trip to becoming a photgrapher instead of a cook. It gave her so much more confidence and validated her as an individual who's accomplished in artistic achievement and sensitivity(which matched her sentimental personality far better). It was also a great move to have Linus truely be the head of the family by taking out the father. That way, Linus became even more of a figure to be intimidated by, and the weight on his shoulders seemed that much heavier. The original SABRINA didn't do a very good job at convincing us why Linus should fall in love with Sabrina. The 1995 version did a great job showing us how Sabrina managed to melt Linus's icy exterior by being sensitive, understanding, encouraging, and challenging to him. What can I say? I love 1995's version. If you havn't seen it, please give it a try. You will be delighted.

Summary: BORING!!
Review: How anyone could rate this movie higher than a 2 is beyond me...and a 2 is being generous! I guess it would be okay if you had never seen the original Bogart/Hepburn version, but once you've seen the original this one pales sorely in comparison!! There is no spark between Ormond and Harrison, and you can barely even understand some of her lines! Be smart...get the original and you'll be hooked...get this version and get ready for a nap!

Summary: Wonderful
Review: This movie has to be one of my favorites, I have never seen the original, and quite honestly, I do not want to for no two could play the part as well as, Harrison Ford and Ms Ormond, there was a chemistry between the two of them that most of us will never have the opportunity to experiance, want but never receive. And not only is the movie wonderful one will have to buy the CD and listen to the wonderful work of John Williams, it is haunting and yet thrilling. The Paris scenes were wonderful, reminds me of being there a few years ago, absolutely intoxicating.

Summary: A Great Film in Itself
Review: Having seen this and the original Sabrina, I must admit that I prefer this version. As someone else said, Humphrey Bogart was much too old for the part of Linus Larrabee. I think he's a great actor, and I love Audrey Hepburn, but you could feel the chemistry between Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford more strongly than during the first version. I also found the "new Sabrina" in this version was a much more dramatic change than in the old, and I must commend the make-up artists etc. from this version. Both old and new are great, but this one is even better.

Summary: How Come I'm the Only Person who Hated this Movie?
Review: I like most movies, and don't tend to be picky, but...why did they even bother to remake the original? Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart certainly don't need updated versions. Julia Ormond is lovely, but she cannot act. Perhaps the director knew this; there are about a million close-ups of her face, with no dialogue. But a lot of people seemed to love this movie, so maybe I missed something. I can't imagine what.

Summary: Julia Ormond fans won't want to miss "Sabrina"
Review: Julia Ormond fans won't want to miss "Sabrina." Although she fails to outshine Audrey Hepburn's legendary performance in the Billy Wilder filmof the same name, Ormond has plenty of star presence of her own to help make this "Sabrina" a treat.

Summary: Sabrina- The best movie I have ever seen!
Review: This new remake is of Sabrina is great! I loved it ! The cast was great and I thought it was great how it was both comedy and a romantic movie. This new 1995 remake is fresh in the 90's although 1954 sabrina was excellent too. The newer one was more upbeat. I would recommend this movie to anyone, it is a movie that everyone should have in their own home. I have watching so many times and can't even count!

Summary: a clever piece of work out of Hollywood
Review: I do admit I haven't seen the original. But does it matter? This film is clever, enjoyable. Although out of touch of modern life realities just a little bit, it provides a delightful view of many beautiful things in life. Please don't compare it with the original version. Let it stand alone and value it as it truly deserves.
