Summary: You mess with the best you die like the rest!
Review: There have been so many teen angst/adventure/comedy films made throughout the years and I have probably seen every one of them, but Hackers shines through like a needle in the haystack. Many of the so-called cliches of this genre are here but are acted so well that it's believable. The on screen relationship between Crash (Johnny Lee Miller) and the woman that portrays his mother is very genuine and Matthew Lillard steals the show (The way he acts in this movie shows us how Shaggy will be in Scooby Doo next year). Oh, don't worry, I didn't forget about Angelina Jolie who shows the viewer how we REALLY Want women to be like, she's a REAL LIFE HERO. But what might be the film's major achievement is that it portrays a real life society that has not been seen (I'm not talking about the HACKING aspect), the society of New York City! What many people don't realize is that New York is the closest thing in America to European Culture! Kids are very much free and they have more opportunities to become adults at a younger age because they are exposed to so much culture. It is very interesting to see how these high school kids hang out, in run down buildings that are remodeled to look like a Nintendo Convention, to the sleek underground laptop/music cafes that cater to the under 21 culture. New York is probably the only place in the U.S. where you don't have to be bored if you're not 21. The fact that they are computer Hackers is just a part of the New York scene and it radiates with curiosity and shows us that we are truly in a new age. But aside from all the technical things, the relationships the actors portray on screen are genuine and compasionate, the comedy is great, and the adventure is A+. In a film that should not have taken itself seriously, it did, and strangely it worked!

Summary: Ok this movie is good for some but isn't for everyone.
Review: Lets be realistic, we can't all like the same movies. Is this movie a true dipiction of the day and the life of a hacker? No. Is it a hollywood dressed up impression of what hakers are like and the things they do? Yes. Do not see this movie if you are a "hacker" since you will see all the Mac's and get the urge to laugh when the movie isn't really all that funny. If you are just wanting to see a fast paced movie that has nice eye popping effects (of it's time that is) and has a very, very easy plot to follow then this movie is for you. I have this movie on DVD and since I never forget my laptop when I fly on business I consider it to be excellent airplane fodder.

Summary: mala
Review: No refleja lo que verdaderamente es un hacker, se sale fuera de la realidad, no dudo que sea buena para gente que tan solo de encender su computadora y entrar al internet ya se cienta una eminencia.

Summary: this movie [was not good at all]...not about hacking...
Review: this movie [was not good at all]....i thought it was going to be good but it really blew hardcore...They made hacking seem like child's play and that any goof with a computer can program and break into restricted systems...give me a break...i was so dissapointed with this movie and from a programmer's point of view...it just plain [wasn't very good]

Summary: Not True but makes you want it
Review: So this movie isn't true, but it is a close representation of what life of a hacker is, always looking behind your back, always thirsting for information. This movie is great, and has early casting of some great people, this movie need to be respected, good plot, bad info, old slang, but yet it still has a great jewl, that makes you want more. "I am 15 but I should not be questioned because of my age but because of my thoughts."

Summary: Hackers!???
Review: To tell the truth, this is a funny comedy of what hacking is, mean, the one who wrote that this is a good example of what "happens" out there, must be afraid of a microwaveoven or a VCR. If you wanna laugh for 1 hours and minutes, try this movie, you'll find yourself inmmerse in somekinda 13 year old kid's wet dream, but, pl3@z3!! do not relate this movie with real hacking because, IT IS NOT what really is.!

Summary: Great movie for the wrong reasons
Review: Hackers is a wonderful movie, and I love it. It is just so very very wrong that it is enjoyable to the core. Movies have started to make a push towards having real OSes in them, as us technically proficient sorts (read: l337 H4x0rs) are the most nitpicky people on the planet. Hackers was most likely the cause of this attempt, with its incredibly uninformed depiction of computers and hackers. Great movie to see for the same reason you would watch MST3K. Go hax0r a gibson.

Summary: Horrid
Review: This movie makes an utter joke of hacking and depicts it as a computer game akin to the brainless shooters that we have today. Hacking though it might be a game to some, is nothing whatso ever like the show puts and infact seeing how they depicted it makes me sick!
