Summary: Great team, Redford and Brad Pitt!
Review: This is a spy story with a twist. The greatest intrigue of the mystery puts you on the inside operation. There are a series of
missions that help fill in the blanks as to why a captured operative may be left to die alone by CIA. But Redford isn't an
obvious hero. I love the movie, bought two DVDS--one stays here and the other gets lent. Fast-paced, clever witty dialogues, terrific fleshed-out characters.

Review: it's a well-played movie. Great actors, new plot, major scenes. Oh well, am not here to talk about the story and all; I want to point out a single flaw in the movie. Hmmm... it's a HUGE mistake for the arabic-speakers. Let's see, when they shifted the scene to the one in Lebanon, 1984, a song was playing in the pub, remember? The song's for Clauda Al-Shimaly who is a Lebanese singer started early 90's and the song was famous around the same time!
I guess, the director got everything right except the song!But don't miss it, just miss the song!

Summary: Taut spy thriller
Review: Despite a few inconsistencies and contrivances, Spy Games is one of the better espionage films to hit the streets in quite some time. The story is intelligent, the action is brisk and the suspense taut. Tony Scott orchestrates the project well, perhaps overdoing the musical element a bit, but pacing well and creating an effective weave between flashbacks and current day events. Yet, there are a couple of areas that bothered me. First, Muir (Robert Redford) was consistently developed throughout the film to be a hardened leader, always looking at the big picture and following the imperative regardless of the human cost. So, his rogue operation to save Bishop is completely out of character. Not only is it difficult to believe that the CIA would have been fooled by some of his deceptions, it is hard to swallow the fact that he would have risked everything to pursue a rescue that was antithetical to his training, beliefs and personality. It is also difficult to understand how Bishop was allowed to stay in the field, given his penchant for disobeying orders and his continual development of emotional attachments to his various human assets. Such recklessness would never have been tolerated, because it would have endangered him, the assets, and would have potentially compromised whatever mission he was working on. However, I suppose I need to cut the writers a little slack or otherwise there would have been no story. Robert Redford turns in an excellent performance, giving Muir a very hard edge and cunning mind. Brad Pitt proves to be an effective action hero. This is the kind of role in which Pitt shines, playing the dark, rebellious character that lives by his own code and gives in to no one. Catherine McCormack also delivers a credible performance as the humanitarian aid worker playing both sides of the street to get supplies for the disadvantaged. Action lovers will enjoy this film as will those who like a mentally challenging story. I rated it 8/10.

Summary: Good movie
Review: Before I watched this movie, I was prepared for an action-packed war drama. Instead I was presented more with Robert Redford's fighting with CIA officials than the fast-paced action the previews lead you to believe fill the entire movie. However, there is definite action in this movie, and overall it's not too gory. In the end I was actually presently surprised with how good the movie ended up being. It's not one of my favorite movies, but I'll definitely watch it on a lazy saturday afternoon with nothing else to do.

Review: Well, I wasn't expecting much of this movie. That much more I liked it in the end.
This movie is one of the best in it's category. It goes on and has it's quality from start to finish.
No silly or pathetic ending like similar movies tend to end. If you tired of all the movies with
brainless shooting action and superman heroism, this movie will be surprising refreshment for you.
I can't just say anything else, than recommend this movie.

Summary: Thrilling feeling of paranoia...
Review: Nathan Muir (Robert Redford), a CIA operative, is going to work for the last time before retirement when he finds out that his previous student, Tom Bishop (Brad Pitt), has been caught. His last day at work ends up being much more exciting than anticipated, since Bishop only has 24 hours left to live. Meanwhile, there is an investigation regarding Bishop and his capture by the Chinese government. The investigators ask strange and unusual questions and are unwilling to share the purpose of these questions. As a result, Spy Game offers a thrilling and touching cinematic experience.

Summary: Casting was excellent
Review: Brad Pitt and Robert Redford worked well together to produce a believable relationship between the young, rash, incoming spy and the older, experienced, soon to retire spy-mentor. The suspense of the clock ticking down to an execution and the intrigue of the back room games played by government officials kept me glued to the screen as I waited for the conclusion. Great escapism.

Summary: Highly entertaining
Review: This is the kind of thriller movie for matured audience. It is shot in the form of fast-paced MTV style and if you have watched Enemy of the State, then, you would know what you are in for. I was glued to my couch from the beginning to the end, witnessing Redford's character, Muir tried to outsmart his colleagues (of CIA) to save his ex-protege, Bishop (Brad Pitt) in the nick of time. USA didn't want to get involved to save Bishop from his scheduled execution due to a trade negotiation to be ensued between China & the States. There were flashbacks to their heydays at Vietnam and Beirut & how the Bishop's female interest (Catherine McCormack) tied the whole thing together. Some commented that the movie was too busy for their liking, but to be able to squeeze so much information & having character developments within 2 hours, it is not an easy feat. A well-made movie and highly recommended. One glitch is that the dialect spoken by the Chinese in the Suchow prison is Cantonese & in actuality, Cantonese is only spoken along the Sourthern Coast of China. Rather, Suchownese speak ZheJiangnese, another form of dialect.

Review: Pitt and Redford together it happend for the second time.It's great fun to see those actors in this movie.Spy Game has much thriller skills and sometimes my mind goes back to the movie Sneakers.Redford playing the mentor of Pitt, shows he is still able to compete with the younger generation.Pitt's acting grows to a huge level.What made this film great is to see both actors from a different history.

Summary: awesome style amazing movie
Review: People keep saying this is a bad movie because of the story's reasons. This is a MOVIE, not a documentary, not a report of actual life, a movie remember. This is an AWESOME movie from the beginning to the end.
The overall style of the scenes, interweaving of storylines, everything is very nicely done. If you liked Fight Club, The Rock or Snatch, you will love this movie. Not that the stories have a similar tone or theme, just that these movies are all in the same "coolness" category IMHO.
